+ A quaint and unique place that stands out. The inside of the old building feels a bit like something out of a fantasy novel, but it's difficult to describe. A "secret" door behind a mirror, unusual structure and layout, cozy interior, a lot of decoration, some retro style. + Plenty of facilities (2 kitchens, several bathrooms, desks and chairs, a gaming room and Netflix access or w/e) available for free. Value for price seems great, even though I didn't use all of it. + Helpful and friendly receptionists most of the time, in particular the Indian guy who showed me around, and the Asian woman who helped me with adjusting the heating. + There are some quiet places during the day, when most guests are out, if someone needs to get work done. Hostel doesn't blast loud party music 24/7 like many others.

- Noise insulation between rooms is non-existing, like in many ancient buildings. I had a single room, but I heard my neighbor snore at basically the same volume as in a shared bedroom. If dormitories are a no-go for you due to volume, I can't really recommend the single room here either, I think that's fair. Bring earplugs. - My room was lovely, but right next to the 24h reception, separated by a flimsy wooden door. Again, no noise insulation, and 3-4 different times someone tried to get into my room. Probably just confused guests. Guests occasionally ring the bell and check-in late at night. - Internet wasn't great. There are several networks, but none worked well, frequent disconnects etc. Not important to me as I work from my laptop and have mobile internet anyway.

The hostel was incredible in terms of ambience: the building itself, the doors hidden behind mirrors and the entire decoration was amazing. Every room was different and unique, and we really enjoyed sleeping there. For example, our room had huge windows and a very high ceilling which were just really beautiful. There was also in the hostel a beautiful outside space with tables, couches, chairs and even a hamac that were really nice to hang out in. I also have to mention that there was a shared space with couches, a TV with video games and even a foosball which were so nice to have!

We truly have nothing bad to say about the place nor our stay, everything was perfect!

Friendly and helpful staff, the hostel is clean and very cozy (I would say feels like home), the garden view and no noise from the streets, the room itself as expected - perfect for a single traveler (everything needed for work and rest), kitchen things available (microwave, fridge, electric stove, utensils and other), the shower and toilet are I liked the location- 30 minutes walk to the city center (I think it's nice as I could look around), several cafes and supermarkets nearby (the staff is friendly, speak English and are ready to help with shopping).

It was such a cute hostel with 3 kitchens, many bathrooms and secret doors. The rooms were super cute and cozy. It was quiet at night. The staff is exceptionally helpful and kind. They let us even come back after our check out to use the common areas, get ready for our ride back. I hope you meet Hans at the reception, he is a great guy, very helpful and kind.

One bathroom, which was used the most out of the three so i get it, was very dirty. But maybe we saw it right before the cleaning time because the cleaning staff came the next day.

The position of the hostel is very good, close to the metro station Hősök tere and very close to the beautiful park Városliget. The place looked warm and welcoming, absolutely good for the price. The staff is very helpful, giving advice and coupons for activities in the city! Also the reception is open 24/7. In particular I talked with Sebastian, who was very kind and friendly, asking me if I needed some advice about the attractions in the city and the best events. Also making sure at the checkout that I knew which way to go in case I needed some indication. I highly recommend it, especially for young people that want to get in contact with the city.

Maybe for an old person an hotel would be more indicated for a matter of privacy and comfort, but as a hostel is more than good and I would recommend it a lot.

I stayed for the second time this year at Baroque Hostel and I have three more stays in May, June and July for three more rock concerts. I've always said it's my second home, but every time I find something interesting. For example, this time I crossed the street and in the park opposite the Hostel I visited the museum in the House of Music, a must see in Budapest. The building is spectacular, built in 2022 by Sou Fujimoto. Next time I will go to see her at night too.

The next day I was supposed to go for a run at Vivicitta, but a cold I came home with prevented me from going for a run.

It's located in a quiet place near a big park, there is a good common area with well equipped kitchen, perfect wifi, places to work if you need to. The building itself is very special, with fancy vintage vibes, a home with history. And still an affordable price.

The bed in the single was not so comfy, too soft and a bit squeaky, I was even thinking about putting the mattress an the floor but felt lazy for it. And it was way too hot in the room.

The place is close to the park, the stuff is very friendly and ready to support you with everything what you need, the common areas are very nice and give you the feeling of being at home. There are 2 kitchens, enough WCs and nice corners where man can work, relax, eat.

The bed wasn't very comfortable and each noise is followed by a noise which may disturb others in the room. There is a lack of sun light in the room.

I liked the atmosphere, the old building interior and exterior, many nice details, garden with a hammock, the location, kitchen and staff was very friendly (Especially Seb, Gonzalo and Hans - Thank you guys for everything!)

The internet wasn't always working well but I guess it's the Hungary problem in general because I've experienced it outside of a hostel. I'd prefer to have curtains on beds but I improvised so it was ok.

The reception staff who was there at night (3AM or such) was super nice, helpful and explained everything to me. I didn't really use the facilities besides shower, but from what I could see the place is well equipped and super clean. My room had 3 beds, and it was very quiet and comfy. The mirror doors between hall and common spaces are very cool and confusing. The decor in the common spaces is very boutique indeed. The room itself not so much, looks more like a dorm room, but i don't mind at all. The airport shuttle service is great.

The reception staff who was there in the morning may have been very tired, had some sleepless nights, or otherwise affected, because they seemed like they don't really want to be here and seemed almost annoyed to have to deal with my check-out and questions. Now i know very well what hospitality and 'service' industry is like, and i certainly don't want anyone to pretend or fake a smile if they don't feel well, that stuff is almost worse. But i really felt (especially in contrast with the night shift employee who was friendly) as if i'm bothering them.
