The property had everything we needed for our stay, great location and comfortable and clean rooms. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, in particular the female member of staff that worked behind reception, she helped us with recommendations of where to go, how to get to places and made us feel welcome everyday which made our stay feel personal.

The rooms were quite hot and there was no aircon but it didn’t help that the weather during our stay was really warm so I don’t think it could’ve been helped much anyway. Not sure if there was an option to ask for a fan though maybe there was the option but we didn’t ask.

The location of Dergvale suited us very well, a short walk from the city centre. The room was comfortable and we made good use of the complementary trays of tea/coffee brought up from reception, a nice touch given breakfast and tea-making facilities were not provided. The staff were friendly and welcoming, with some really helpful suggestions about pubs to eat in on our first evening and where to get a train to Sandycove.

The main thing we had an issue with was the (too our mind) slightly overdone room housekeeping on the first day. We got back at the end of the day to find all our stuff had been moved and rearranged, which felt a bit intrusive. We decided not to bother with housekeeping thereafter.

Great place! Don't be put off by the 2 stars! (Due to whatever senseless rules these were given!) The hotel is extremely clean! (I even took a picture of the bathroom grout, because I was so excited! :-)) The rooms are lovingly and nicely furnished. One notices immediately that it is a lovingly cared for family business. I have never seen such a clean bathroom, not even in a 5 star hotel!!!! Thanks for the wonderful stay!!!

The staff was very polite and accommodating. They were also very helpful with directions getting around. Downtown Dublin is a pretty easy place to navigate, but all the directions the hotel staff gave were direct and took me right where I was going. In addition, the hotel room and my bathroom were impeccably clean. I would definitely stay there again. The room was cleaned every day, and the toiletries were well chosen. I really liked the body wash!

I think coming up with a key card, or a lock with a code to get you in the front door would be a nice upgrade. There was always someone to open the door for you, but I think one of those options would be better. The rooms are on the smaller side, but I don't think there is anything to do about that. It was still a comfortable stay.

Olga and Gerald were very welcoming and kind, happy to answer any questions and orient us to the neighborhood, transit options etc. Olga brought us a fresh pot of coffee with biscuits each morning which was lovely. The location was very convenient and walkable to all we wanted to see and do in Dublin. The bus to the airport was a short walk (one city block) which was very convenient.

One thing to be aware of before booking (which we were) is that this is an older property. It thus has some charming features but also lacks some modern amenities (no lift, for example). Nevertheless the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable.

Cozy old-style and comfortable structure close to the centre. Very well maintained (the bathroom was new and impeccable) and super clean. The shower was very nice, with immediately warm water. The personnel is exceptionally friendly and available: there is always somebody at the reception, day and night, who will welcome you with a smile and some chit chat, if you want to.

For a tall/big person, the bathroom was maybe a bit difficult to manoeuvre in.

A good location in a quiet street, with a couple of cafes nearby. It’s a short walk down to the GPO and O’Connell St, and several bus routes. The hosts are absolutely lovely and obliging. The property has a secure entry, and feels very safe. The old fashion key was quite a novelty!

The bathroom is very compact, and I had not seen a shower faucet like that before so I had to work it out (it may be quite common here in Ireland?).

The hotel does not have a restaurant but there is an excellent cafe/restaurant across the street. Buses to the city centre are frequent nearby. The room was adequate and very clean. 24/7 admittance to the hotel with a concierge on duty. Advise if problems with mobility as there is no lift to the second level. No AC but heater installed. Excellent for a 2-star hotel.

Low level noise between adjacent rooms.

Very nice staff, always ready to help you and give you information. It's a budget hotel, rooms are not that big, but are clean and with a nice bathroom. Went in the winter, lots of cold, but the Hotel was really warm. Its a 10 minute walk from the center, and 15 minute walk from Temple Bar. There are lots of public transportation at a 2 minutes walk that can take you everywhere

The hot water pressure was low, and depending the room you are, sometimes you might have issues with the internet network. Prices in Ireland went sky rocket in everything, including the hotels.

The location of the hotel and the surrounding area are excellent. It's quick and easy to reach the city center on foot, and there are great places nearby to eat and have coffee. The transport connections are good, and it's fairly close to one of the train stations. Housekeeping is done daily, and everything is very clean and tidy.

The fixed showerhead in the shower is not very convenient, but this is quite common.
