The historical atmosphere & the location were excellent. The cleaning staff was superb & the room was super clean. The continental breakfast was a wonderful way to start our day. We enjoyed the availability of nightly entertainment & thought it was of high caliber.

Well our first night didn’t go so well. We watched other guest check in before us get excellent attention by the staff with directions, times & places in the facilities to dine, etc. we, on the other hand, were given our keys & directions to the elevator. We had to ask the front staff for basically the same information that other guests were freely given when checking in. We were jet lagged & it was our first time in Dublin. Consequently my sister & I were lost in a very bad part of town as we were not given map nor directions. Our cell phones were of little use.

The continental breakfast in the Old Music room restaurant was far superior to the not very hot cooked breakfast served in the Vaults restaurant. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Good location and easy to reach city centre on foot and also near bus stop for city touring buses. The bed was very comfortable but pillows a little firm.

For people with reduced mobility the Vaults restaurant must be difficult to access down the stairs. The lift at my end of the hotel was out of action before I arrived and had still not been mended when I left. The noise from the next door room’s bathroom fan was annoying. The evening music entertainment in the Vaults restaurant was far too loud and made conversation difficult during the evening meal.

Loved the quirky quaintness of the hotel layout -- easy to get lost, but fun! Loved the choice of breakfasts. Most of all, loved the nightly live music in the downstairs pub. High score on cleanliness. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great -- only a 12 minute walk to the center but far enough that it's quiet at night.

The only reason I didn't give the highest score to the comfort of the room is that we had difficulty turning down the heat. The front desk sent someone to fix it, but while it was better, we were still too hot at night. This doesn't stop me from highly recommending Castle Hotel as the problem was limited to this particular room, not the hotel at large.

Most Staff were wonderful, genuinely helpful and pleasant. Location was very good for walking to city and public transport. Bed and all linens excellent. LIVE entertainment exceptionally good and one of the main reasons I booked Castle. also 24 hour reception. I stayed 6 nights and decided to return for the last 2 of my Ireland visit as it suits my needs.

Contintenal Breakfast (already included in price) was good but a room service charge of ten euros is too much. I had to dress and go down to breakfast room and bring a plate back to my room. I would have aid five euros to have it left at my door.

Several members of the staff remembered me over the course of the week, so when I came in to pick up my room key each night, they quickly got it for me. I did not have a chance to have the full Irish breakfast or the dinner, but the continental breakfast spread was actually quite nice, and I wish I'd gone there a few more of my days. The room was such a peaceful spot for me to unwind each night, really like my own little suite! Oh, and the price I paid was literally hundreds less than most spots, even less than hotels with fewer stars. Fifteen minutes' walk from Trinity College, and a straight shot down O'Connell Street to get there, too. For my needs, this was the perfect place to stay in Dublin.

I suppose I wasn't the biggest fan of the half-shower setup. It was a tub with a glass wall on one side and an adjustable shower head. But this was a minor quibble. Overall, there truly wasn't much to complain about.

We requested a family room for my wife, myself and 2 adult children. This provided 4 comfortable beds in a spacious room that included an expanded sitting area where we could eat if we wanted, Fresh linens, towels and bottled water provided daily. The hotel had 2 restaurants (breakfast included in rate) and a bar, and an outdoor patio. All of the staff were pleasant and accommodating. At first I thought the furnishings were dated, but they grew on me. Overall a very pleasant experience.

The location is a good 15 to 20 minute walk from O'Connell bridge, city center North of the Liffey river, but buses were within a 1 block radius, The bathroom was a bit small and shower (no tub) could have had better water pressure.

Beautiful hotel lovely Irish decor. Lovely tea time delious tea cakes . There also had a nice variety of Italian dishes. i would definitely stay there again.The staff was very friendly as the place was immaculately clean.They had a lovely bar downstairs and a nice garden area to sit and smoke. Music and dancing every night . Also a library which was very well furnished with several books and very comfortable seating area

The neighborhood in Dublin was not a bad neighborhood but not exactly a good neighborhood.I would still definitely go back.Again, I felt safe in the neighborhood, but the neighborhood itself was very dirty .,

We got there at 6:30am and they told us that our room was ready for us. We thought we would have to leave our bags and wait until the usual 2pm check in. It was so nice to get some sleep. My family loved the free Irish breakfast but I loved the free continental breakfast that was upstairs. Fresh pastries, fruit, cheese, meats, pancake maker, and fabulous coffee and juices. The location was a few minutes walk to shopping areas and temple bar. But it was so quiet, except for the seagulls.

The marble floor in the bathroom was very slippery after you showered. Our daughter slipped on it and hurt her big toe. Just ask for a good floor mat at the front desk, for safety. They provided us with one after we asked.

Room although smaller than anticipated was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Bed was comfortable and the location for the City Centre is excellent. Walking distance 10 minutes max. The staff were so friendly welcoming and helpful. The breakfast choices were wonderful with my husband going for the cooked option while I had the abundant and amazing continental selection. The hotel evening entertainment was so good and the evening meal had in the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Overall a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend to others.

Our room was overlooking a very busy road, the traffic noise was constant, even throughout the night. Managed to sleep with windows shut and due to good weather fan was available in room. This would not put us off from staying at this hotel again, but would make sure had a room on opposite side of hotel.

Superb location with easy access to bus lines. Wonderful staff, always available to help. Room cleanup was near-perfect. The breakfast options (continental buffet upstairs, and traditional Irish downstairs) are excellent. The evening music programs were quite good overall (Ray Cox was a fantastic performer), and the restaurant is very acceptable. The overall place has plenty of charm and although it was quite occupied during our stay, noise was never an issue during the nights.

The week-end room cleanup was way below average. The upstairs breakfast buffet was always very busy and the area was often noisy due to families with small kids.
