Location, location, location. Perfect for seeing the Uffizi art gallery, the Duomo, the river. The staff in the hotel were incredibly helpful and friendly offering us a hot drink on arrival and pointing out places to visit in Florence. Loved the kettle and fridge in the room and the newly installed shower room.

We found it tricky to find. As pensioners the flights of stairs were a challenge after a day of walking around but we clearly knew that beforehand.

Friendly staff and clean room with comfortable beds and pillows. The place is easy to find and a 12 minute walk from the train station. Great location as its close to the ponte vechio & duomo.

The bathroom smelled of sewerage everytime you open the sink or shower but that’s most places in Italy. There were a ton of stairs and no elevator but the staff took our bags up for us.

Staff was helpful they let us in the room before the check in time. They made us coffee while the receptionist was doing the final document collection and copy. I asked for them to organise a taxi for the morning we were going and they did organise all that for me without any problems. The both receptionist were friendly and they always greeted us going out and coming back in. They also asked me if we are ok with everything and were happy to hear our feedback .

Balcony

Our room was very basic but adequate, the bathroom had been recently refurbished and the A/C was quiet and efficient. The location was very central. The room was made up every day and the staff couldn't have been more approachable, friendly and helpful.

The hotel was much more basic than I had anticipated, it didn't offer anything other than 'a room' there was no bar, no breakfast facilities and although we had a kettle in the room there were no cups, or tea/coffee. There was a small fridge though.

The two gentlemen (I assume the owner and the manager) at the front desk were great. They offered us coffee and water when we walked in. Offered to help with carrying the bags. Have a map with the attractions marked. The room and the bath was good. We were able to store bags for free after check out, so that we could explore the city before leaving in the evening.

They are very friendly and accommodating. The guy on the front desk (Aldo) was so friendly and extremely helpful! He made us feel really at home . He gave us every necessary detail to enjoy the weekend in Florence as well as possible. The hotel’s location was fantastic, centrally-located to all the touristy sites and near train station. I will surely come back.

Location was great. But iTt was a very trying time locating the hotel. Our phones GPS/data didn't activate as our carrier had indicated it would. Asking people on the street was not helpful, as most Italians don't speak English. Those that did, didn't know of the hotel. We didn't have but a half a mile to walk but we got lost only within a few blocks of the hotel, as everything looks the same in Florence.

The air conditioning was not the same as in the USA, so temperature in the room and in the common areas of the hotel was not good. Lighting in the room was limited. Room was very small.

The hotel is in the centre of Florence and not far from the train station. All the staff were great - really nice and very helpful. We had three rooms and they were all fine. One was a little smaller but we were asked if it was ok and we didn´t mind. We will definitely stay in the Esperanza Hotel next time we come to Florence :-)

The location was perfect. Within walking distance to any and all sights in Florence! The balcony we had with our room overlooked a cute small section of a neighborhood with other people's balconies. It felt intimate and quaint.

The beds were pretty hard. The bathroom was a little dated but decently clean. There are no elevators so be wary if you are traveling with disability (or a lot of heavy luggage). We were on the 4th floor and had many flights of stairs to climb to get to our room.

The receptionist was extraordinary. He took out a city map, and outlined all the main attractions as well as marked how to get there. He even wrote down the bus (No. 12) and it's bus stop to get us to the David Statue that outlooks whole Florence. This made our stay so welcoming. Thank you!
