Fantastic location. Very helpful and friendly Concierge. Spectacular room with lots of space and storage. Bathroom was largest and most elegant of the many stays we had in Italy over three weeks. Shower had body sprays and was very large by European standards. Great sleeping in a very quiet and dark room with excellent A/C. Charm of an historic house converted to a boutique hotel.

There is no lobby at the street level and a flight of stairs to climb before getting the lift to the reception. We knew about this before making our reservation, so it was not a big negative for us. We travel lightly and take the stairs when possible anyway, but this might be a physical and logistical challenge if you have heavy bags and don't do well with stairs.

Wonderful Stay at the Renaissance Hotel in Florence We had a fantastic stay at the Renaissance Hotel, perfectly located in the heart of Florence. Everything was within easy walking distance, making it easy to explore the city. Our room was spacious, very clean, and featured a large, comfortable bed. The bathroom was excellent — plenty of hot water and great water pressure. What truly made our stay special was the hospitality. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They helped us find some amazing local restaurants and made us feel right at home. Highly recommended for anyone

Getting to the hotel driving your own vehicle is very interesting. I would suggest using a taxi. The owners did have a garage that could come pick up our car at a very reasonable rate.

Due to a delayed flight, we arrived outside of the requested check-in period (3-8pm), but we kept in touch with the staff via Booking.com, and they were very gracious and stayed until we arrived (almost 9:45pm). The hotel is on the second floor of a gorgeous old building right in the heart of Florence, and is a close walk to everything. Our room was very quiet and clean (with a beautiful fresco on the ceiling), and the air-conditioner worked well enough that we didn't suffer during the heat wave. The staff was also happy to order us a regular taxi to get to the airport (which arrived in 5 minutes). We asked them how much we should expect to pay, and the taxi bill was within a few euros of their estimated amount (€34, which was much better value than a private driver!) A tip for those who are coming from the airport; when we arrived, there wasn't a single taxi at the airport, and it was impossible to call one via Uber (it would not connect us to a driver). There was also a lineup of about 100 people waiting for a taxi. It would have taken us all night! Either pre-arrange for a taxi to pick you up, OR, you can also take the tram. Just follow the instructions provided by the hotel on this site. It was very easy, and I think it cost us €3.50 for two people.

The room (and bathroom) was a bit small, but that is to be expected in Florence.

Location was awesome. Right in the centre of the city - can walk to everything . Room was beautiful - with a great Italian vibe. Room 104 had a great view of the streets. Offered flat and bubbly water. Loved that there was a fridge in the room along with a safe. Staff were very nice and knowledgeable.

Bed was very hard. Better sound proofing needed as you can hear everything outside. Room 104 was awesome but you won’t get a good night sleep due to all the noise. The mirror and the tray which held the cup and kettle on the little desk need deep cleaning.

The property is tastefully appointed -beds are super comfortable. We stayed in room 102, with a king bed. The armoire had just enough storage for clothes for our 5 day stay (we put the spare pillow and blankets on top of the armoire, and I used my side table drawer for socks, underwear and belts). The bathroom was excellent -quality fixtures and comfortably sized. Entry and exit from the property was secure and easy -using a single key card on the street to access the hallway, inside the property to access the reception room and again to gain access to the room. The area was excellent -close to everything, so we could walk everywhere.

The mini fridge was handy, but could have been colder.

Traditional hotel in a perfect location in a side road. No grand entrance but a lovely welcome from staff. Close to cafes bars restaurants. Was quiet in our room , lovely shower and comfortable beds. No breakfast but there are so many places to go to so not a problem.

It was exactly what we needed as a base as only staying for 1 night. So nothing fancy, doorway from street , up a flight of stairs up to a door for the hotel. Almost like entering an apartment. But it was traditionally decorated, clean and friendly.

The position of this hotel is fantastic (2 min from piazza della Signoria) and the rooms and reception welcome the guests into a mid-eve building. Decorations and paintings reflect the soul of this amazing city, Firenze. The rooms are equipped with needed facilities and there is also a boiler for preparing a hot beverage. The room was clean and functional. The sounds from the side street can be heart, but it is part of the city and hotel charm!

Excellent location, it was easy to find the hotel. It is a small hotel, on the first floor of the building. After a few steps there is an elevator. In a very old building, there is a fine contrast between frescoes and modernity. Marvellous bathroom, good sized room and comfortable bed. The staff was very nice. We would definitely return next time.

Great location and nice comfortable clean room. The reception helped us with the luggage up the steps to the first floor elevator. The breakfast was ok. Not much selection. Overall would stay there again.

The elevator is on the 1 st floor, which for Americans is the second floor.

This place was awesome – beautiful room and a fantastic location right in the middle of everything.

It would get a bit loud at night, but honestly Florence has narrow streets and this was a very minor issue given how great the location is. Basically every night between 11pm and midnight there would be LOUD groups of American tourists on the streets outside, but thankfully this wouldn't go late into the night. No offense to Americans – I am American! hahaha. Every loud voice my wife and I could hear outside at night was speaking English with an American accent. I guess our country likes to party.
