The Palazzo is a haven of calm and quiet in the middle of a busy city. It has a beautiful garden and amazing staff. We were able to check out, spend the day looking round Florence before returning to the Hotel to make use of the spa, shower and change and then travel to the airport to fly home. All of this was easily arranged. The room was very comfortably and stylishly furnished and had an excellently appointed en-suite bathroom. The food served in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast selection extensive and tasty.

We made the mistake of walking from Florence SM station to the hotel. It’s not far but the street is very narrow, has badly maintained pavements and incredibly crowded. Getting a trolley case along the street was slow, hot and difficult. When we arrived at the address it was tricky to spot the hotel entrance - there is minimal signage and we thought we’d been sent on a wild goose chase by Google Maps. We only tried a door where someone with a suitcase came out and got into a taxi.

A beautiful hotel with brilliant staff in an excellent location. The reception team are warm and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The team in the restaurant were also exceptional and so helpful in bringing drinks outside in plastic glasses so we could sit in the beautiful garden or use the pool. The rooms were spotlessly clean so the cleaners deserve high praise. The little spa and swimming pool were a great treat after a day's sightseeing. Out of the 3 hotels we stayed in Tuscany this was head and shoulders above the rest. Finally the beds and the pillows in the hotel were the comfiest I have ever experienced. Overall a 5 star experience.

Have more waiters working at breakfast rush as the workers looked to be rushed off their feet. Although never without a smile!

Florence is very busy, but the hotels’ location was perfect for escaping the crowds. Everywhere is walkable, and there’s enough eating options either in or out to keep you there for a year! The rooms were spacious with excellent house keeping standards. The hotel garden and pool is an oasis of calm, and a delight to unwind after a day of sightseeing.

I didn’t like the way some guests treated the superb staff. The staff responded with professionalism which must be applauded.

The hotel feels like an oasis in quite a chaotic Florence! The cleanliness is top notch and the whole place smells beautiful. It has calm and peaceful atmosphere. The outdoor space is small but very pleasant. You are within walking distance of all the tourist spots and excellent restaurants. It has a luxurious feel to it.

There was some confusion about the availability and booking of the spa area. Definitely do check this before booking. There is limited use of the pool and spa facilities and they require advance booking. The road the hotel is situated on is not a particularly nice road but you forget that as soon as you enter the lobby. At night from approx 10.30pm we could hear the kitchen/restaurant area underneath us being rearranged and the banging was really loud in our room (115) so might be worth requesting a room on a higher floor.

The breakfast was a five-star rating! The breakfast offered so many different varieties that suited several different cultures. The location was perfect, a little off the beaten path, but still close to everything. Everywhere you looked, there were people cleaning. The place was spotless. The room was spacious and had a balcony that overlooked the garden. I highly recommend these accommodations. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. If we return to Italy, we will definitely book this facility again.

so clean, the breakfast was delicious and the atmosphere was so peaceful after a hectic day out in Florence it was lovely to come back to the calm! gorgeous gardens too.

Having to book to use the pool and having allocated time slots. This wasn’t mentioned on the booking and I didn’t see the other comments in the reviews until it was too late. May have chosen a different hotel with normal access to the pool if I had known as that was the key reason why we chose the hotel for the pool access being in the height of summer!

The hotel was beautiful lovely garden setting in the middle of a vibrant and busy city. The staff were excellent great communication and went out of their way to help was with any inquiry. The facilities for such a hotel where excellent there was just about the right spa treatment areas.

Can't really say I didn't like anything I would recommend this to anybody obviously it was more of an expensive stay but you can see where this reflects in the hotel itself

The hotel is in an excellent location. We were only 10-15 minutes walk to everything we wanted to see. Breakfast was very good. A good choice of food. Our room and bed was comfortable. We had an evening meal in the gardens which was lovely. Good food, excellent wine and quiet.

I think we were a little disappointed with the size of our room. Our UK plug adapters were a little clumsy. They didn't fit well and found our phones weren't charging unless we kept an eye on the socket.

The location was perfect 10 minutes walk from the major attractions we planned to attend. The staff particularly Camilla in the restaurant in the evening were exceptional and polite. The facilities and hotel were excellent and clean, the hotel smelt amazing.

Unfortunately the ground floor showers overflowed, and was sending bad angels from uber the shower tray. This was quickly resolved by staff by moving us to a new room, however the second rooms shower leaked across the bathroom.

I liked the fact the room was clean. We have asked for a cot, as we travelled with our child. The breakfast was delicious, with great variety of food. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and very accomodating. We have travelled a lot and stayed in different hotels around Europe and i can say that the staff in Palazzo Castri was class. Fairplay to the management for this!
