Every staff member is smiling, helpful here at Galileo, especially when we were so upset and angry about Arnobio Florence Suites which we had paid in full but they did not allow us to check in and cancelled our entire booking for 7 nights after taking the non refundable payment -- when we were landed up on the streets with utmost distress having nowhere to stay for the week, Hotel Galileo comforted us with a warm welcome, heartfelt sympathy, extra breakfasts, spacious room, and a new mattress, restored our trust to Florence hotels, and changed our mind of never returning to the city to loving it.

Perfectly located hotel - you have bus stop 2 min walking distance from the hotel (buses 14, 23 and 31), Santa Maria Novella and Mercato Centrale are 10 min away, and you have the train station and Piazalle Montelungo (Appennino Shutle bus stop) near by. We got room on the first floor - there is elevator if you are tired or you have to carry suitcases, the room was not very big, but you have fridge, wardrobe and private bathroom. The bed was so, so comfy - huge mattress, two soft pillows each. The room was very clean. We had breakfast included, which a recommend - everything was fresh and tasty, there was both sweet and savoury options, fruits and excellent coffee. Staff was very friendly and helpful, with very good level of English.

FOR WHAT WE PAID, HOTEL GALILEO WAS SO SOLID. BEST THINGS ABOUT THIS HOTEL - VERY GOOD LOCATION WITH A 10-15 MINUTE WALK TO MAIN PIAZZAS, BUT IT'S NOT IN THE HEART OF THE SUPER BUSY SECTIONS. THE LOCATION IS SAFE & ONLY TWO BLOCKS FROM THE BIG MARKET BUILDING & THE OUTDOOR VENDORS OUTSIDE THE MARKET. ONLY ABOUT A 10 MINUTE WALK MAXIMUM TO THE FLORENCE TRAIN STATION AS WELL. THE MANAGER WAS SO FABULOUS AND ONE OF THE AM STAFF ALWAYS ANSWERED OUR QUESTIONS THOROUGHLY & THE HOTEL PROVIDED US WITH AN EXCELLENT MAP OF FLORENCE. THEY SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH & ARE ACCOMMODATING TO GUESTS. THE ROOMS WAS WELL APPOINTED - SIMPLE, BUT CLEAN & PLEASANT. LOVELY HIGH CEILINGS. THE AIR CONDITIONING WORKED EXCELLENT, WHICH WAS GOOD BECAUSE OUTSIDE IT WAS IN THE 90S (FAHRENHEIT).

THE SHOWER WAS A BIT SMALL, BUT CONSIDERING WE HAD THE OPTION OF TUB OR SHOWER, IT REALLY WASN'T THAT BAD.

There is a fresh renovation in the room and the shower is clean. The location is very good - 10' by walk from the central station. The light in the room is also nice, and there is good isolation in the windows - our room was facing the main street but we couldn't hear a single sound.

The breakfast room is small though they clean tables fast and we could find a seat both mornings. Breakfast is fine but would be nice to get more warm food like omelet or warm vegetables. On the second day (after cleaning) we found dirty shoe prints in the bathroom - probably the cleaning person was in dirty shoes.

Breakfast was in the form of a buffet. There was everything for sandwiches, oatmeal or ready-made sweet pies. You could choose whether you wanted coffee, tea or juice. In general, we were very satisfied) The location of the hotel is 10 minutes from the train station and 6-8 from the main attraction and the market. I also recommend going to Zaza, it's very tasty there.

It looked good for its price, but the walls could be repainted or better restored. Also, we could hear the water being turned on from the next room.

The location was fine, but the Via Nazionale is CRAZY BUSY. There is car, truck, bus, and pedestrian traffic 18 hours a day. The staff was excellent. They made check in and check out easy. They helped us with suggestions for "what to do in Florence", and they answered all of our questions.

The room was very small (3 m x 3 m, which is okay because we didn't come to Florence to stay in our room), so it was difficult to move around. Especially with the large windows that open INTO the room. The windows were wonderful and let in a lot of fresh air but the street noise was loud and ever-present, AND A LOT of mosquitoes came into our room through the open windows. There should be a mosquito screen for that.

This is all about the location...walking distance to everything :) The hotel is very clean and has been perfect for our trip, we spent our days exploring beautiful Florence and it was a pleasure to come back to our lovely room.

They were in the middle of some refurbishments so that was not ideal, however, the breakfast area will be bigger so that will be nice for next time.

We asked for separated beds when booking and again when arriving. There were yes two beds in the room, one king/queen size and one small extrabed which was kinda weird cause we were expecting for two separated normal beds but that was no issue to us, just found it bit weird. Some noises from the street can be heard, not badly though

The water pressure is fantastic. Beds are comfortable. The place is very modest, which I expected. The staff was very kind and even upgraded us the second time we came. They held our bags for us overnight. Fantastic.

The AC was governed, which I did not know until I asked why I could not make it cooler. I was told if I had asked, they would have released the limiter. I would totally go again if I were trying to save money.
