I have allergies to perfumes and prefer to have a room which has not been deodorised or perfumed. I forgot to add this info when I booked. Clinton was on the desk and he was a legend. He swapped me to a room that had not been deodorised yet, and asked the household staff not to spray it. All with a smile, and at a very busy time with a queue of 3 people checking in at once. Clinton has been awesome to us when we stayed there previously, and is the main reason we keep coming back.

The manager was extremely accommodating, polite, and professional. He went out of his way to make sure everything was comfortable for us and handled every request with a smile. His warm and friendly attitude made the whole experience much more enjoyable. Truly one of the best managers I’ve come across—helpful, approachable, and genuinely caring about customers. The place is lovely and well maintained!

The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The queen bed was very hard, so I like a soft bed. Great location, with a swimming pool, and childrens play area that includes a trampoline.

The over powering smell of bleach in the bathroom, gave me asthma the first night. Please use more environmently friendly cleaning gear. If a single person is arriving after the office is closed, and the guest is being placed upstairs, where there is no lift, a friendly email to advise this would have been great, as I am in my 70s and could not lift my case up at 2 am. I think I woke everyone up as I cluncked on each stair. I did say all this to the office.

I loved my stay at the Camelot. A few little things needed a decent clean eg around the rubbish bin there were splash marks up against the wall from food/drink. The shower edges needed to be cleaned better lots of build up and grime. Honestly though what will keep me coming back is the service at the front desk. The gentleman was really great I couldnt fault him accommodating my needs. When it comes to no designated car parking, that was a little bit annoying as we wound up out on the street down the road. In today's times with crime we would prefer to have a space within the facilities.

The location is superb, with shops, servo and bottle shop all walking distance. This is homely accomodation with a large courtyard. The management and staff are lovely and helpful. We arrived in the early hours of the morning after a flight and key collection and finding the unit was simple thanks to a helpful email and a map which was left for us. It was a cold night and we walked into the unit and staff had the heat pump on for our arrival and it was lovely and warm. The property is old now but it was a home away from home, plenty of tea and coffe, milk, beautiful soft towels daily and the beds were firm but comfortable. I thought it was good value and will definitely stay at the Camelot on my next visit to Christchurch.

Parking could be difficult especially in the weekend when the motel was heavily booked. The interior could do with some paint upgrade in places.

We hired two units for our party of 5. This worked out very resonable conpared to other places we have stayed in. We weren’t staying long enough to do much cooking but everything seemed to be provided. I would have liked to have tried the outside hot tub but time and the cold were against us doing that. It was just a short drive to the central city and the Riccarton Mall….and working distance to several restaurants.

The shower! I am sorry to say that my two attempts at using the shower were disappointing. I am sure there are clear instructions somewhere but when you are actuallly in there, you think it can’t be that difficult to operate. The main problem was that it seemed to have a mind of its own as to when it would shoot out boiling hot, or freezing cold water. I played around with the gizmo and almost mastered it but it was a bit of a fight!

The check in was easy and the staff friendly. The room was room spacious, it had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. There was a spa pool just outside our door and parking close to our unit. The unit was clean and new towels were provided daily.

It was a but dated and the bathroom did not have an extractor fan. We were in a two bedroom unit and the bedrooms did not have doors on them, the upstairs bedroom was on a mezzanine floor which was open to the lounge and the downstairs one was next to the bathroom and only the bathroom had a door.

We have stayed a few times over the years in the large family apartments. Booked through booking.com because the prices were very affordable! Not super modern, but not old either, nice and clean and well maintaind, everything our family needed, and 2 BATHROOMS (thats always a bonus with lots.of people) The apartments are like a home away from home. All staff we have seen over the years have been really freindly and helpful.

As we stay in the family apartments, I cook because we have had a crew of people, and with cooking comes, steam, smoke and smells and the oven fan extractors didnt work, i was paranoid my frantic cooking skills could set of a fire alarm!! 😆....😬

The rooms were clean and tidy and all the staff were helpful and happy. Great location.

I don't think there was anything I didn't like. It's not a 5* hotel so if you go expecting that you may be dissapointed but it's a good rate and the staff make it 5* they go above and beyond with a smile. It is exceptionally clean and spacious rooms. We stayed in two one was modernised so had the edge on the other room but both were functional and perfect as a base for our NZ travels.
