I liked being on the 1st floor. Sunnier and quieter.

There was no Heated Towel Rail. This was unsatisfactory and very easily rectified with an Electrician running a cable thru the Wardrobe to the Bathroom. Heated Towel Rails are cheap and dry the towels etc...and quietly keep the room warm at low wattage. The Deck Balustrade was exceedingly dangerous and requires review. At a minimum Stainless Steel Brackets to stop the Top Rail breaking and people falling to their death. All the Connections for the Balustrades need review. If they break and people die, you have been notified. You will also have an Asbestos problem as the Cladding is Asbestos - and that will go everywhere. Best Wishes.

My family of 10 absolutely fell in LOVE with this place. Check-in and out was super easy and fast, Private parking closeby, handy laundry room and the place we had was very beautiful, spacious, clean and well equipped with utensils and toiletries. The hosts and cleaners are incredibly amazing people too, they helped us out with storage, restock and even gave us a call when we left items. We highly recommend this motel and we cant wait to book our next stay here next year. Thank you for having us.

Nothing as everything is perfect here.

All we wanted this room for was to sleep in as we spent the days with our daughter and family. It provided all we needed in the form of warmth, comfy bed, good shower, hot water jug, tea bags and milk and above all everything was spotlessly clean.

I tried to book many times by ringing Southern Comfort directly but no one answered the phone and there was no way to leave a message. So I had to book through an agent. On leaving there was no one in reception but a note saying to leave key. There must be a better way to monitor their phone calls.

Staying at this hotel was a great experience. The price was affordable, and it’s located very close to Christchurch city center. The airport bus also stops right at the same intersection, making it very convenient to get around. The facilities are well-equipped—not just a bed, but also a private kitchen. On top of that, the staff at the front desk were very friendly, easy to talk to, and always willing to help guests with their needs.

Central to everything we needed to be at. It was a last minute booking, Value for money especially for 4 of us. We were within walking distance of the Christchurch City, The casino & there were plenty of places by us to eat at. The veranda was cute, we sat outside and enjoyed the sun while having a few cold ones before heading out. The one bedroom apartment had plenty of room, it was hot inside, but we open the windows, the sliding door & main door to let the breeze in. Perfect fresh air oppose to using the heat pump. Amazing friendly staff.

our REQuest for a quite room at rear of Motel upstairs was given and a peaceful few days stay was most enjoyable. ,we love the warm Space heater in the lounge and the heat bulb lights in the bathroom was a delight so warm after finishing a shower and all over the modern updates in the unit were the best we have enjoyed anywhere not to mention the comfortable bed with linen hotel sheets were top class for a great restful sleep , the best ever stay

Nicely-appointed apartment-like rooms. We've stayed here before, so came back due to the size and comfort of the rooms. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. Nice choice of eateries close by.

Quite noisy at night until around 11pm, due to neighbouring properties. Double-glazing would help with this, but after 11pm, it was fine. PS - I really dislike the frowny-face this site (booking dot com) has for reviewers to note things that could have been improved. This motel in no way deserves a frowny-face review. :)

The room was very clean and the location was great to talk into town. The lady at reception was very kind and helpful. The room is pretty well equipped, but it would be better to add a few things in the kitchen area.

The wifi and tv don’t always work because the weather was bad. It rained day and night during our stay and we depended on wifi and tv for entertainment. Staff would not give us another little milk for coffee on our second day.

Easy to get parking,nice bathroom,great shower and kitchenette

Could do with a lamp in the lounge area,some of the furniture needs repairing as it’s shabby ,view out 1 window wasn’t pleasant as it was the old pool we thought and we had to shut the windows because of the smell from the drain.Didn’t appreciate being asked to only sleep in 1 bed in a 2 bedroom room with 5 beds,that’s not good as it’s none of their business and we could need 2 beds for reasons

comfy and quiet and extra bonus was being able to order and have delivered a continental breakfast

didn't realize our room would be up some external stairs to next level. we are in our early 70s and could manage quite easily but only because my husband could take my suitcase up for me. would have maybe been nice to have been told beforehand and also maybe given the opportunity ourselves to perhaps change to lower level
