We had a lovely stay; The staff were very helpful and kind. The room was nice and warm, and had a lovely balcony, good ensuite and comfy beds. We bought breakfast as an add on and it was adequate, and we also ordered room service. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was lovely (More comments below) The bathroom was a bit dated, but the shower temp and water pressure were great! It is up on the hill, but the staff pointed out a gentler slope to walk up which made a huge difference. Despite some little niggles I would definitely stay here again.
The trash bin had not been emptied by the previous guest which was a bit yuck. Not sure if the cups were clean in the room, how can guests be sure they are? the sliding door lock didn't work, but it had a wee latch like a gate. Also, the hotel is all over the place, we had stairs down to our room, which was a mission with heavy bags. Access to the exterior door was often limited due to a car parked too close. The buffet breakfast was adequate but much cheaper and nicer options in town, also the pancake machine was broken. Room service was okay - the fish was cold and the desert - pumpkin pie was burned around edge, such a shame. Would recommend having food in restaurant as the flavours and options were amazing. Only little niggles and would happily stay here again :)

Location and size of the room were great. It was very comfortable. View of the lake and wharf area very pleasant.
It was a bit spread out and hilly, leaving guests exposed to Queenstown weather in potentially difficult conditions. The car parking “lottery” was not ideal, adding to the foregoing difficulties. But the bathroom really let the establishment down. It was tired and old fashioned, with mould starting to appear. There was not a single hook for wet towels or clothes and one narrow towel rail - at knee height: totally useless! The only hanging space was the shower-over-bath curtain rail.

We had a chalet lodge for our family and was great we had two floors so our daughter could sleep and we could still make food and have a drink in evening. The room itself is tired but would be good to have a good clean behind the beds, I pulled out the bed downstairs to plug in our baby monitor and huge cobwebs all along the back of the bed! Also a cupboard we hoped to store our luggage in was full of junk and rubble style materials which was a shame. The kitchen was well appointed and the view was amazing. Great stay but perhaps the main hotel would offer more updated facilities or cleaner bedrooms.

We stayed at Chalet room and the view of the lake and the mountains were breathtaking. The room was spacious, loved the high ceiling and balcony was a plus to get fresh air. The location was convinient, close to Queenstown CBD and ski bus stop only being 2mins walk. Staffs were very welcoming and helpful.
Things to note: The walk from town to hotel is very steep up hill. The balcony door was sagging hard to open and close and make loud noise. The heater in our room didn't work but friendly reception staff brought us portable heater. The room is located on 2nd floor with no ramp so have to carry luggage up and down the stairs.

As we had a front chalet, we had a slight lake view - excellent. The downside was a little bit of traffic noise. We also had a deck and garden. Inside was spacious, plenty of room to put suitcases and clothes. Easy to get down into the hub of Queenstown, steep walk back up - but it’s Queenstown! Bus stops not far from- if you need them Fabulous staff, super helpful and obliging. Good restaurant, excellent in room breakfast, delivered on time and hot.
Nothing to dislike

I really enjoyed the warmth and the promptness of the staff and the willingness to put our bags in our room. We are really satisfied with the level of service, especially after we checked out from the restaurant and they still agreed to keep our bags with them when we requested them. The staff were of fantastic help. Enjoyed the view and the stay thoroughly, especially the breakfast offered includerd lot of variety. Thank you Heartland!
Everything was neat tidy, but we happened to see web spider dust hanging from the top. It was very little though.

Location to central Queenstown is fantastic. Parking for cars given the location is also fantastic - it's first come first serve, but the staff were super helpful soo many times for me with the car parking - calling out Jayjim (duty manager) who got me out of a parking jam one of the late nights when we returned from a super long day trip. High standards of cleanliness which is absolutely amazing for an older-character property like this. Also - the morning breakfast buffet is superb and great value for money. More than anything else, what I really appreciated was how amazing and personable each and every staff member was, from the front-desk staff, restaurant staff, housekeeping staff - just all around A-stars!
I know a few people have already mentioned this - being an older character property, it has these "shower over baths" - it can be a little uncomfortable to use but certainly manageable. Honestly, given the location of the place and price I'd probably put up with a lot more.

great location, 5 minute walk to town. room was very clean the bed and pillows at this place was amazing. love the unique room style and was really nice listening to the rain on the roof at night time
floor in the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. also noticed some mould in the silicone in the bathroom but I believe that is due to the design ong the bathroom not having a ventilation fan and not due to the staff was the rest of the room was presented to a very high standard

Staff were lovely & we really appreciated both young men who carried our luggage to & from our room. The view from our room was awesome! Comfy beds & a decent sized room. Great luggage shelf - don't often see them that large. Great location for walking into town, & close to bus stop when arriving from the airport - so easy! We thought it was great value for money & would stay here again.
Not a major issue but bathroom window seemed a bit fragile when 'cautiously' opening it to let shower steam out, but it stayed the distance.
