Room was spacious and clean.
Hotel is being refurbished and looks bad. Reception is a desk in a corridor. Not a good look. They should discount prices during the work. Plenty of other options for the same or better price in Queenstown.

Hotel is placed half an hour walk from Queenstown center and from Frankton Marina. It is in really serene and quiet spot. Room had a balcony with a view on the lake. Bed was big and comfortable and room looked like new. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is providing shuttle service if it's booked in advance.
No information about ongoing construction works around the property, the hotel only mentioned that parking is not available but did not provide a reason. As a 4 star hotel it is appropriate to inform guests about the ongoing works. Also some facilities are required for a 4 star hotel, for example the restaurant. Which is not available at the moment, as well as the pool, spa and I am not sure about the conference rooms. They only have a 24 hour reception in the corridor. A bit strange. I think because of the construction works there was an unpleasant smell from the sewage when we opened the window. Surely it will be great place after all works will finish. At this moment they're only providing rooms which is fine when you have to lots to do outside ;-)

Good things about this hotel were: We loved the easy access to the waterfront directly out of our room. The waterfront path took us to town or back up to the airport, depending on which way we chose to walk. It was clean, and there was a beautiful view of the lake directly outside the window. The room was also slightly angled away from the rest of the building giving a sense of privacy, which we appreciated. The bed was very comfortable, and we were able to get some groceries to store in the refrigerator then reheat in the microwave. The hotel provided a complimentary shuttle service to take us downtown. We just needed to call the front desk to give a heads up when we wanted to go (and return) based on fixed times and then a driver would take us directly into the city centre.
Not so great things about the hotel were: It wasn't made clear to us before we arrived that a significant portion of the building was under renovation. So when we arrived, initially, it looked like we were staying in a construction site (this wasn't actually the case, but the first impression was not great). The ergonomics of the room were a bit clumsy - there was a round table in front of the window and big cushioned chairs which were too big for the space and made maneuvering between the bed and the "dining" area very awkward.

The views were amazing! We also loved the gas fire and bay window capturing the views. The rooms were well presented and clean on arrival, the staff who checked us in were lovely and really helpful.
The location is a bit further out of the main town and traffic at peak times made the drive in/out feel much longer. The renovations did not impact our stay and we pre-booked a parking space but it was quite a tight drive in and out in a large vehicle because of the renovations. The walking track in to town was nice but only accessible via stairs (we had to carry our daughter in her pram down the stairs from level 3 to access the walking track).

The view was outstanding with a balcony access and large windows. The room was modern, spacious and exceptionally appointed. I really liked the complimentary shuttle service in and out of town, and we struck up super friendly and kind interactions with the driver.
It was under renovation, which is a positive, but did mean some challenges walking up and down the steep driveway to access the main road for the bus. But this was a temporary inconvenience. The walk into the main town was really nice, but also about 20-30mins, so some planning ahead was required. Not a deal breaker at all.

This property exceeded my personal expectations from the moment of my arrival staff were so very accomodating and patient with the girls and I whilst being very responsive to any assistance required through out our stay. Both indoor (the apartment) and out (the view) this place is just magnificent it sets itself apart with absolute distinction and the generously sized apartments are perfect for family holidays or large work groups.

Incredible lake and mountain view with access to walking tracks. The room was stunning, complete with a fireplace, rooftop deck, and kitchen. Thank you so much for our stay at the start of our first visit to New Zealand. The shuttle bus service to town was a great surprise as we had no idea how busy Queenstown is. Thanks to the very friendly staff also..
Book your carpark at the time you make your booking. There is a lot of building work going on and not much space. You do need to walk across a main road and uphill if you miss out on an allocated car space. That being said, you can unload on site without a problem. Let them know if you can't do stairs at the time of booking. Don't let this detract from booking a stay here.

Loved the views, it was so clean and tidy. Loved that they topped up the coffee and milk every day. When I asked for disability parking they made sure we had a parking space even with their renovation happening. It made our lives so much easier coming and going. I would never be able to walk up that hill 😂 We celebrated our 25th anniversary and what made it even more special, as soon as we walked in a card wishing us a happy anniversary and some chocolate was such a welcome surprise. We had smiles for the whole of our 3 days that we did not want to leave. Thank you to all the staff at Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort, you deserve over 100 gold stars for hospitality 🥰👌🔥👍😍☺️

Room 408 had the waterfront sea view. This is a bigger room with two single beds and 1 super king bed. The kitchen facilities were great. Pots and pans were clean. It has a dishwasher iron washing machine and dryer. The room was serviced daily and the coffee machine was epic which made my stay exceptional. The staff at front counter were very friendly, always smiling and we felt warm and welcome.
Streaming netflix from my phone to the tvs Chromecast had issues. I had the reception come down to sort it once but afterwards had similar issues.

The view from this hotel was absolutely stunning, and location couldn't have been better. Close to everything and perfect for exploring the area. However, during our stay the hotel was under construction and unfortunately key facilities like gym and breakfast buffet were unavailable. Once renovations are complete and those facilities are back in service this place has the potential to be 10/10.
Clean and tidy rooms, just a bit dusty - especially on the aircon unit in room 406a
