Absolutely everything was in order. I reccomended this place to my parents! They might visit next year. Great location, friendly staff, hygienic and also nice breakfast buffet.

I won't take off any stars for this, but I was slightly annoyed by smoking staff members from another hotel/company. They used the side of vila baleira to stand there and smoke their stinking sigarets. But as said before, this is not vila baleira's fault or doing.

The breakfast was very poor. Vegetables dont was nothing!! The boiled eggs was durty ( didnt was and was chicken pooh on them) the omlett smells bad like a fish…. Every days same… Coffe was like a water, served in a teapot..

Everything was great!

The view from the balcony was excellent, the room was quite big and comfortable. The check in and out process was fast, the staff was super kind. There is a parking area under the ground, which was not free, but convenient. Coffee machine with capsules, tea filters, a little fridge, a sofa and a wardrobe was the part of the room also. The bathroom is well-equipped with towels. Price was fair, breakfast was included. Pool on the 4th floor outside, but didn't try.

These are just little things: - no water boiler, so we had to use the coffee machine without capsule to make hot water - hairdryer switched off after a short time - we assumed because overheating, but 2-3 minutes in normal use not a lot. - TV is not smart (or this function was switched off), I really missed to mirror the screen from my phone to enjoy my favourite series or anything else which is not a tv channel. - walls are not soundproof, we heard our neighbours quite well during the night - breakfast was not the best, but ok. We missed vegetables.

The location is fantastic, perfect position for Lido and restaurants and a short walk from the centre of Funchal. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. The pool was lovely and views were amazing.

The beds and mattress were extremely uncomfortable. I’m not sure if the quality of mattress differs depending on the room you’re in, but for us it was like sleeping on a slab of concrete, which meant we didn’t sleep that well. For the price (nearly £1k for 7 nights with NO meals included) the quality should and needs to be better.

They welcomed us in the room with a bottle of water, coffee and tea. We had access to the gym and pool and the room was welll-equipped with a TV, hair dryer, mini-fridge and a boiling kettle. The room was fairly clean and room service changed the bedding and towels daily. (upon request). We also opted for included breakfast which was buffet style with tons of options: eggs, sausages, bacon, hashbrowns, beans, a million types of bread, sweets, pastry, fruits, cereal, juices, coffee…

The quality of the breakfast food and drinks could be better. The orange juice was especially bad tasting

The rooms were really comfortable and nice. Our room was excellent. Our kid's room didn't have a renovated bathroom which was a minor inconvenience. Also their airconditioning unit was a little more troublesome. It worked OK but had some issue when the balcony door sensor didn't work correctly. We liked the breakfast, enough choice of continental en English breakfast. Lovely pool area

The hotel lacks a pleasant atmosphere, us Dutch wouldn't call it 'gezellig'. The staff could try to make it a little more lively, make sure the pool bar is always staffed, a little back ground music. Some plants in the breakfast room and hallways would do a lot towards it being a top hotel and increase revenue. Also the hallway carpets should be replaced, they are dirty.

Great hotel and location. Food was fab and just a little cold. Staff were lovely especially Sophia on reception and Melinda on restuarant and bar duties. Roof top barand pool was great also All in all i'd go back. Theres lots of nice restuarants across the road on in the LIDO area.

The main issue was the softy beds but thats personal choice. The other was inconsiderate guests talking loud at night and in the morning in the halls.

The location: close to supermarkets, bus stops en shops. Private parking at the hotel. A must as parking space is limited in the area. The room: spacious with a nice balcony. The swimming pool and relax area on the rooftop. Breakfast was okay, basic and with all the essentials. For a stay of a week it may lack variety.

The flat pillows. We did kindly receive another set after mentioning it to the staff, but it did not did the trick. But this is a personal preference. The bathroom was not very clean. It needed a full clean. Although the staff was kind and very hardworking.
