Right in the heart of the old part of town. Easy for drop off by Uber or Taxi to get bags into hotel (we had 4 suitcases). Staff were very friendly and you could help yourself to cake and coffee available in the dining room from 2pm. Buffet breakfast was excellent and they even do scrambled eggs on request.

It is at the top of a hill so getting back after a days outing might be a struggle for some people, however there is a lift in a building a few doors down that operates until 9pm that you can use to get down to the street behind the hotel (I only wish the concierge had told us as we only discovered it on our last day). There was no bar fridge in the room so if you like cold water or a beer after your day out it is not possible. Maybe they could have an ice machine in the dining room where patrons can grab their own ice?

Great location just a few minutes walk from many sights, shops, and places to eat! It is located right atop a street with a slight hill on either side, but definitely worth it for the location as you cant quite avoid hills in Lisboa either way :P the staff was very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was delicious, and they offer tea and coffee in a lovely little “living room” area on the second floor. And the view from the room itself was great! Would definitely stay here again next time I visit the lovely city of Lisbon!

We had the room with the balcony (west facing so catches the sun in the evening) and the view was epic! Breakfast was tasty and the location of the hotel was great for public transport and all the sights. Didn’t realise but there was a fridge and kettle in the room as well as a good quality hairdryer. There is a supermarket just across from the hotel entrance. The hotel is located at the top of a steep hill but there are elevators (lifts) from the next street so you can avoid the hill (turn right when you leave the hotel and the building with the lifts is a few doors down). There is also an elevator in the supermarket across the road which takes you most of the way up to the castle. Cake and coffee in the dining room is such a good idea!

Pillows were too soft for us and room heating wasn’t great (we weren’t sure if it was working or not). We got soaked in the rain and found it hard to dry off our clothing. It was near the end of the holiday so not too much of an issue.

The breakfast was wonderful and Giovanni was especially incredible to assist us in having breakfast early both days due to our schedule. We are so grateful for his kindness and understanding. Lara, at the front desk when we arrived personally helped us with our luggage while checking in due to the hotel’s busy street. We so appreciated her hospitality and support. The hotel itself is beautiful, especially the breakfast room and its gorgeous ceiling. Our experience was lovely.

A refrigerator in the room and luggage racks for larger suitcases could be helpful. Also, a comment is the way the bathroom door opens makes for a very tight entry. A shower stool could really help when shaving. We noticed most hotels we visited in Portugal do not offer these, but it would be a plus.

Great, Central location. The building is beautiful with an authentic feel. Friendly and helpful staff. Exceptionally clean rooms with good facilities, including kettle with tea and coffee, water and glasses, and a small fridge. The rooms were light and airy with a good number of hangers and storage space. The bathroom had shower gel and shampoo. The buffet breakfast was fabulous with plenty of options and fresh produce being added as needed. The addition of a teatime cake as well as 24-hour access to tea and coffee was so good. I would not hesitate to recommend it. Excellent.

Excellent, central location. Short walk to the main shopping streets and tourist attractions, including Tram 28 bus stop. Beautiful, historic building with magnificent, original features. Good selection for the continental breakfast, including healthier options such as plain yoghurt, oats, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, boiled eggs as well as the usual cold meats, cheeses and breads. Staff were polite but unobtrusive. Everywhere was incredibly clean and well maintained. Freshly baked cake and biscuits available free of charge in the afternoon, along with tea/coffee which was a nice touch.

Our bedroom was nicely presented, clean and spacious but there was very little clearance from the wall from the foot of the bed which made it awkward to navigate, especially in the dark. The glass bathroom door opened inwards, so you had to shuffle around it to enter the bathroom and then be able to shut the door behind you. This wouldn't put us off staying again, perhaps it was just this one bedroom which was an awkward shape??

Location is excellent, very close to multiple public transport locations, restaurants and wine bars galore in easy walking distance. The staff were very helpful with everything we asked for at all hours, and the free glasses of port available at the front desk didn't hurt one bit! The continental breakfast was lovely, plenty of options and everything fresh and high quality, set in a beautifully furnished room. Bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was modern and the shower in particular was excellent. Overall a great quality hotel that doesn't break the bank, while still offering a high standard and comfortable place to stay in the heart of the city.

The laundry service advertised on their services list was actually no longer available, but the information had not been updated yet. Staff did try to assist us with other local options, but all would've required us to manage the process ourselves, which is not our expectation from a hotel.

Hotel is in a perfect location with walking access to so many great sites. It’s on a hill so bring your walking shoes. The rooms are lovely (we had a bigger size on the 4th floor with views across the skyline. Comfortable bed and all very clean. The breakfast was a buffet around the sides of the room with plenty of choices. If you do stay here, take the wide staircase at least one time - it has lots of character . Finally, do get up to the Miradoura Sao Roque. It’s a lovely scene there.

Liked everything. The only challenge is that the 4th floor is only reachable by a small staircase.

Just WOW! This was the first stop of our honeymoon elopement week. From the moment we walked in the front door we felt welcomed. I had called the morning of to see if we could check in early, as we landed at 7am from the US. We got granted an early check in, which we were so grateful for. The room was impeccably clean and spacious! It felt huge for being in a city, we did book a larger room than standard. This hotel felt central to attractions. We ended up checking out the spa 2 doors down and had a great massage. Now onto the breakfast: this exceeded our expectations. Beautiful fresh buffet every morning! The dining area was so charming and clean. I loved everything about this hotel. We had tea and cake one day as well, the food was perfect.

This was a brilliant hotel in every respect. Elegant, calm, beautifully designed and in an excellent location in the heart of Lisbon. It’s equidistant between two Metro stops and close to major sights and areas (Alfama, Chiado, Barrio Alto) but in a less touristy area and quieter street, which made for a good night’s sleep. We were warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived from a very early flight, and invited to have complimentary refreshments in the lovely 2nd floor guest lounge area. What a delight to be in such beautiful historic surroundings (the tiles!) with stylish modern furniture added - and a gorgeous view of the castle walls from the windows. Our room (a superior double) overlooking the city to the rear was supremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, spacious, and quiet, with brilliant aircon (which we desperately needed during the heatwave!) and a small but well designed bathroom with an excellent rainfall shower. Breakfast was fresh, with lots of choice, and well presented. We stayed for 4 nights, and it was a pleasure coming back every afternoon to rest and recharge and escape the heat. The 24- hour complimentary tea, coffee, fresh fruit and pastry snacks (savoury and sweet) are a fantastic touch, and really made the hotel feel like our oasis in the city. Most especially, everyone we encountered on staff was incredibly helpful and polite. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it highly, especially for those seeking a stylish and calm stay.

Breakfast and range of afternoon snacks might have been more varied (we stayed 5 days) but this is a very minor point.
