The guest house is a very pleasant 10-15 minute walk from the main road (go via the more pleasant van Riebeeck street). The room was very well appointed, the pool is lovely with very comfortable loungers and the breakfast was great.

We did not get the room on the upper floor that I carefully selected (and is depicted in my booking). Our room was fine, but a huge issue was the noise from people walking on the level above. There is no insulation and it is very loud. It was worst on our first night, when the guest above were clearly insomniacs and walking about (and waking me up) constantly. The second night with different occupants was much better, but still not great. It is a huge issue - a carpet or foam matting should be installed to limit the noise.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast had lots of choice with many freshly made dishes to choose from. We felt very safe throughout our stay

Unfortunately our room was located on the bottom floor and by some stairs therefore we could hear whenever people were walking above us. It didn’t bother us but for those that are light sleepers, it would be useful to be aware of this.

We were a party of 8 and loved staying at Mirabelle, which exceeded our expectations. The property is up a quiet residential street a relaxed 10-15 minute walk from the centre of town. Bonita and the rest of the team are so friendly and accommodating, yet completely unobtrusive. Our room was on the upper floor and was very nicely appointed with a pool view with its comfortable loungers, and our room also had its own large terrace. Breakfast was well catered especially for our group who had a range of dietary requirements. Very relaxed and safe place to stay where we would love to stay again.

There is a safe in the room, but very small - suitable for wallets, passports etc. No backup for load shedding, but just need to be aware of times and work around it.

Location was safe- just a bit of a walk from the centre but you get used to it and it was good exercise. Room was nice, new and spacious with good air conditioning. Breakfast was excellent as was the service. Nice well maintained pool and gardens.

The location was terrific and we loved the pool after our days out. The staff were wonderful and the breakfasts very well cooked with a great variety. The rooms were clean and spacious with excellent air conditioning.

An outdoor pool shower would be useful.

Our bedroom had little insulation between the floor and reception below ie at 7.30 you could hear staff arriving and talking. Also a bit too much lengthy loud chat between staff/on their mobiles near the pool when trying to read or sleep!

The Mirabelle Guesthouse is an amazing traditional but renovated house. Our room was spectacular and the fruits of the breakfast were delicious.

One of the nights we stayed it was very windy and the ceiling shaked a bit, so as a light sleeper, it was a bit difficult to fall back to sleep because of the noise.

Excellent place to stay during our visit to Franschhoek. The whole place is fully renovated. Spacious room and bathroom with great shower. Super clean. Tastefull breakfast with plenty of choices. Very friendly and accomodating staff. No backup power during loadshedding. Within a short walk (max 15min) from Franschhoek mainstreet and its restaurants. Highly recommended.

Nothing

This is a very professionally run guest house. Breakfast is a delight. We used two rooms while we were there, our choice. No. 1 very roomy on the ground floor and cooler in the 37° temperature. No. 2 was slights smaller and upstairs but had a nice view, There is some building work going on that ends in September by the owners, which will bring the two properties together and should create something a bit special. All in all this is a nice place to stay,comfortable, clean and great staff.

The house is all uphill from the main street, which did not bother us, but you need to be aware.

It was a short walk out of the centre, but it was really easy to get a taxi. Room was amazing, and it overlooked the pool. Request upstairs room for more privacy.
