The location was just great for us, a quiet location, that is just 3 minutes walk from the touristy area, walking distance from the train station, and a minute walk from the river. This was the original reason that we chose this hotel, but once we got there, the staff were super helpful and nice, and the hotel itself was clean, tidy and well maintained, well above expectation, It's a luxury hotel in small package, and we would love to stay again in our future Florence

The only thing I can think of is if they would send a picture of the hotel entrance, as it's in a side street and easy to miss

The room was small but very comfortable and spotless — perfect for a city break. The location is unbeatable, right in the center and within walking distance of all major attractions. The hostess was super nice and even allowed us to check in early, which was a huge help after traveling.

The only downside was the air conditioning restriction (they don’t recommend lowering it below 18°C and the AC struggled to keep the room cool), which made the room a bit warm at times. Also keep in mind Florence weather was close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit when we were there. Tip: close the bathroom door and it stays cooler!

I loved this hotel! It truly exceeded my expectations. I was a little nervous since there weren't a ton of reviews, but it was a newer property so I think that's the reason for lack of reviews. It was truly an amazing stay. We took the train into Florence from Rome and we were able to walk to our hotel from the train station. It took about 15 minutes. In hindsight I would have just used a taxi because it was hot outside, but if the weather is nice it is definitely an easy walk from the station. The hotel staff was amazing from the moment we walked in. The lady that checked us in gave us a map of Florence and a ton of recommendations for food, shopping and sight seeing. The hotel itself was very private and clean. It was also in a great location. 10/10 recommend!

We were at Porta Nera for 6 nights. First of all, they welcomed us very friendly. Our room was already ready even if we are too early than check-in time. This was great. Our room was super clean and its cleaned daily. Hotel location is too good, when we had shopping, we could walk to room in 5-6 minutes to leave our shopping bag. Around hotel there are nice cafe and restaurants. At reception there is a kaffee machine and we could take every morning one cup of coffee free. Definitely i will come again.

The location is perfect, right in the city center, so close to everything. The decoration and the vibes are very good. I would definitely come back and stay here again. The staff is also very helpful and very nice. It’s a boutique hotel with good decor but the room is very specious.

The wifi is not strong, a bit slow in some occasions but i switched to use my mobile so at the end, it’s o.k. Also the fridge was in a cabinet with no ventilation so when you open the cabinet it is a bit hot. So we left the cabinet door open to air the heat out a bit.

Staff was amazing. They had whole guides and maps outlining all the cool spots you can see in the city + localized food recommendations. Accommodations were well kept and maintained, easily the best place we stayed our whole 2 week trip through Italy.

This is not the properties fault, but it is just 5ish minutes too far away from a lot of the downtown action. Definitely not the end of the world and was great proximity to the train station which was great for the day trips we took out of Florence.

Solo traveler here from California. This lovely property is modern, serene, very nice and clean, with 2 fabulous greeters/staffers Mariana & Christine. Mariana greeted me with such a warm upbeat informative welcome, it gave me the at home amongst family vibe, included with a brief tour of the room and surroundings, and lastly added in some recommendations to restaurants and the typical sightseeing places for a 1st timer to Italy would want to experience. Excellent maid service I might add, very comfortable bed n pillows, nice lighting in room, AC, great shower. The 3 nights I Stayed here, all were very kind, terrific, and efficient, going beyond what a 5 star hotel would provide. I plan to return next year as there so much to see and do and will most definitely be staying here again. Highly recommended to the adult looking for a quiet location and a 7-10 taxi ride away to the big attractions this beautiful city has to offer up. So much better than being in the middle of bustling streets next to museums. Also, do take a pasta cooking class with unlimited wine drinking with David and his team up the street from the cathedral and David statue/museum. Was one highlight of this trip. Have a great stay, you won’t be disappointed. Ciao!

Perfect location really in a quiet location and just a couple blocks away from so many restaurants and shops.

Where do I start? This was an extremely positive hotel experience! My room was twice the size of previous rooms on this trip, giving me space to open my suitcase, and with a comfortable place to sit and work from my laptop. It had many amenities. The room was clean, comfortable, and stylish. The linens were exquisite! I slept like a baby. The most important thing that I need to rave about is the staff at reception. The service was fantastic! Checkin was efficient but thorough. Most of all, I had a little emergency with some packages that were delivered for me, which I had to somehow pack into suitcases just before racing to the airport. They were helpful and accommodating through this random situation, even making me a coffee. Such amazing ladies! 100 out of 10 for service! I will always stay at this hotel when I’m in Florence; the team has earned my loyalty.

Very friendly and accommodating personnel. Clean and homey environment, with attention to detail. My room was calm, compact and cozy, perfect for a city base. Liked the feeling of relaxed quality. The bed was extra soft and comfortable. The neighborhood is very nice, easy to walk everywhere. Thanks for the experience.

Saturday evening you could hear some fleeting noise from the street, the same way you would experience at home on the weekend. Nothing too disturbing, I could sleep well. Enjoy the comfy bed!

Let me start by saying that this place is beautiful, very clean and looks brand new. The host was very nice and recommended the MOST AMAZING restaurant i have ever eaten at! We did not realize upon booking that this was NOT a hotel. If you are arriving late to this property, make sure to let the host know. Also, we are from Alaska and do not have what's app, which is a sure way to communicate with the host, so make sure that you check your booking account for messages or download what's app. We were lucky and ran into a couple coming into the building, who were able to help us send the host our passport photos, which was the only way to get in and get our key. We did prepay, so if this hadn't worked out, by the grace of God, we would have been out the $400 for the first night. The building was very secure and was very private. The view from our room was of just the alley below. If you are looking for a very private, beautiful clean room, this is the place for you.

The check in process. We did not realize that the host was trying to communicate with us all day. This was not the anyone's fault, we just did not realize how the check in process worked. Make sure to let the host know the exact time you will be checking in.
