Clean and well appointed spacious room. Pleasant and helpful staff, nice breakfast. Very central location with, restaurant, bars and taxi rank within striking distance.

Unfortunately due to its central location a full nights sleep was not possible. Most nights I was woken by vehicles cleaning the streets & emptying the recycling point at 3am and some form of disturbance from the floor above. Groups of people singing and shouting in the square in the early hours. A city view room comes with its draw backs!!

The central location of the property was awesome. It was within walking distance to the train station, the David museum, shopping and top restaurants. The rooms were comfortable. The hotel is old but that added to the charm

We made arrangements for transfer from the train station to the hotel before the trip. Since it was our first time in Florence and Italy we were quite ignorant of the proximity of things. The train station was just a short walk and the hotel charged us $140 for a 1 way transfer. A better customer service experience would have been to tell us that the hotel is within walking distance to the train station and then ask us if we still needed the transfer. That would have been helpful and my score would have been a 10

I recently stayed at Hotel Roma in Florence, and it exceeded all my expectations. The location is unbeatable—just steps away from major attractions like the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and Piazza della Repubblica. It was the perfect base for exploring this stunning city. The staff was exceptionally warm and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile. Their attention to detail and genuine care made me feel right at home. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully designed, blending modern comforts with classic Florentine charm. Overall, my experience at Hotel Roma was nothing short of amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious, comfortable, and central place to stay in Florence. I can’t wait to return!

The hotel delivers on comfort, a very good room for a well-deserved rest after hours of walking, and is conveniently positioned a short walk away from the train station and main city attractions. For regular travelers like myself, who are a bit more relaxed and forgiving of the little details because "Things happen," you'll find a property that meets expectations for the price; it is not a luxury hotel, so don't expect it just because it has 4 stars; it's an old building like pretty much all of Florence that has been reworked over the years, yet you still find remnants of the years the building has and might find unacceptable for a 4-star hotel you're used to; personally, I find it an immersive experience. A solid 8 out of 10 in my opinion, I would definitely stay in it again.

The air condition could use an upgrade. I visited during the spring, and the temperatures in the city were a pleasant 19 C/66 F. The room was at 24 C/75 F. I tried to cool it down, but it took a long time. I can't imagine waiting so long in the hot summer months to feel the room cool.

Excellent location, staff, and breakfast. The place is right in one of the main squares in the city and is surrounded by shops of pretty much any kind, including a laundromat.

For a family of four, the room was a little to warm. The front desk promptly gave us couple fans as they couldn't help us with adjusting the thermostat as it is all centrally controlled. Another option was opening windows but since this place is in one of the main squares, it is quite noisy and mosquitos get in as well, depending on the season.

Spacious room, well decorated. Good quality feel to it all. Bathroom good and clean. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast plenty of choice and worth the money. Perfectly located near tram and all major attractions. literally in the city center. Taxi stand in front of hotel. Airport 30 minutes by tram for less than 2 euro. Many nice restaurants and bars around the hotel. The hotel itself doesn't serve lunch or dinner.

Dogs in the hotel, had to share a lift ride with a beast of a hound and its owner. I'm allergic to dogs and didn't like that at all. Could hear it bark a few rooms down the hall during the day.

The location was phenomenal! You could not be any closer to the train station, and it is right on the beautiful Basilica of Santa Maria Novella Plaza which has restaurants as well as musicians at night at times. The view was beautiful and taxis were always waiting at the Plaza. We were able to walk to all the sites we wanted to visit including the Accademia, Uffizi, Boboli Gardens/ Pitti Palance, Santa Maria del Fiore, Ponte Vecchio Bridge. Our room was a double room with a shared bathroom, and small living room, as well as connecting balcony. And the breakfast was sensational.

The hotel is extremely well located within the historic center of Florence. The hotel is on the beautiful Piazza Santa Maria Novella, a very short walk from the train station. The hotel room was spacious and nicely decorated. The staff were very attentive to our needs. Housekeeping kept our room very clean. Even the same laundry service was excellent. We are returning to Florence in 2 weeks and have booked another stay at Hotel Roma! We highly recommended this hotel.

Location was fantastic. Close to everything, including the train station and overlooking a beautiful piazza. All staff were very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. There was no problem to store luggage for us before and after check ins/check outs, which was excellent and meant we didn't have to traipse around Florence with luggage until absolutely necessary. Thank you Hotel Roma! Loved the look and feel of the hotel with its traditional decor especially in the main reception area. Our room was clean and modern in style, though I'm sure I had requested twin and we had a double but no matter. Nice traditional room toiletries and sundries, though I'm not sure who uses shoe polish these days, sadly. Overall a satisfactory stay.

My slight disappointment was with the breakfast, despite other reviews. I found that the only offering of cooked food, which was scrambled egg, had been burnt and overcooked and was cold despite sitting in a bain-marie. Looked like a chopped up omelette and not very appetising and lacked any flavour. The cold buffet had a great selection of cakes in particular, though I'm not into cakes for breakfast. The croissant I had (with apricot filling) however was freshly baked and delicious! Juices were from a machine, which tasted artificial, as was the coffee which was also disappointing in taste and quality. Th price at nearly 400 Euros for 1 night for a double/twin room (early June) was therefore not great value.
