We parked in the NCP car park on Rupert Street… no more than a five-minute walk from the hotel. On arrival, the staff on reception were warm, welcoming and helpful. Our (deluxe) room was large and comfortable and the cleanliness of both the bedroom and the bathroom was excellent. The staff in the hotel bar that evening were very friendly and the staff in the breakfast room the following morning were equally as friendly and very attentive. The breakfast menu was varied with plenty of options to suit many different tastes. Fresh banana bread was on offer on the morning of our stay!

It didn’t affect our stay, but I imagine that somebody with poorer eyesight may struggle in the room that we stayed in due to a lack of brighter lighting in the bedroom area, although the lighting in the bathroom was fine.

Exceptionally spacious room for Bristol City Centre. Well appointed, beautiful bathroom and the attached Bistro was out of this world. A culinary and staying experience I will not forget in a hurry. Luxury and French style in abundance.

Bed was a little soft for our tastes and a neighbouring room had people partying, playing very loud drum and bass music until the early hours which kept my wife awake until 4am - this should have been dealt with by hotel staff, as I'm certain we were not the only ones disturbed by their inconsiderate behaviour and it tainted an otherwise perfect stay.

The staff were excellent, going above and beyond for my partner and I during our stay and ensuring we were completely comfortable. The room was a wonderful surprise - it's hard to judge the size and amenities of a room just through pictures on a website, but it massively exceeded my expectations. The room was ENORMOUS, with a luxurious super king bed, big bath and cavernous shower. All in all it was the perfect getaway and we definitely plan on returning in the future!

Everything about the hotel itself was faultless. However the parking facilities were lacking, and even though it is located in central Bristol, £25 a day is pretty steep!

Our room was larger than expected and the bathroom superb. The breakfast was very good - We would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again. All the staff we encountered were excellent, friendly and helpful. A credit to the Hotel du Vin.

I think a Nespresso machine in the bedrooms would have been a nice addition, and perhaps a choice of earl grey tea (there were multiple fruit teas available but just English Breakfast tea in the traditional tea range) I didn't like the coffee machine self serve at breakfast and the fruit salads were not fresh as I had some 'fizzy' fruits. All that said, for you to get an 'exceptional' rather than a 'superb' rating.

My room was spacious with a gorgeous bathroom and tub - heaven! The staff in reception were terrific (two ladies) and helped me with my bags, a fan for the room and parking on the second. The location was terrific for exploring Bristol.

I had dinner the first evening I arrived and a lovely exchange with the restaurant manager. I ordered sole meunière. When it arrived I was suprised that the server didn't debone the sole at the table, nor did she anticipate my need for an extra plate on which I could deal with the bones neatly. Given the GBR 50 price tag for that main, I expected tableside fish service, which is typical for that dish. I asked another server for freshly ground pepper and he just plopped a pepper grinder down on the table and walked away. Although the food was very good, for a meal with a total price tag of over GBR 115, I would have expected better service,

It’s perfect for its location in the heart of the city. It has lots of charm and history and our room was Perfect big and roomy, the roll top bath was beautiful. And we had breakfast the next morning and that was of a very good standard and very enjoyable. I’d add we booked this stay for a wedding and was on the clock to get there in time and get ready , although the hotel couldn’t guarantee our room would be ready they did us proud and it was, and we was off to enjoy a wonderful at the mount without. Thank you hotel du vin team.

Staff were incredibly friendly, particularly in the bar and restaurant. Our room was exceptional - very large with a free standing bath and a massive walk in shower.

Nothing really except the parking is limited, expensive and very messy in terms of leaving and returning to the hotel. Glasses of wine in the bar were very expensive. Bristol city centre very underwhelming but that's not the hotel's fault!

We arrived just before midday after a 3 hour drive to Bristol, the Receptionist was helpful to find out if a room was available from the housekeepers, this then allowed us time to freshen up and get ready for a friends wedding at 1pm. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, ordered from the hot menu, and nice fresh pastries.

We hadn't realised our bedroom window was opposite/very close to an office. It's not ideal with the blind up & not dressed (if blind closed, it would be extremely dark). So the workers would have had an eyeful! The guest in the next room had a dog that barked a lot throughout the night, warm night, so both our windows must have been open too, making it echo more. The room was wonderful, but the bed was extremely creaky, so any slight movement whilst asleep would wake us up.

Beautiful hotel, excellent rooms. Really comfortable, generously sized room. The hotel is tastefully decorated throughout. The bathroom was great, with a good bath and a walk-in shower. Bed was perfect for a good night sleep and there’s no traffic noise. Our room was also spotlessly clean. The staff are lovely, very helpful and professional. The bar is well stocked and has a wonderful atmosphere (and well mixed cocktails), with a patio tucked away from the street like a little oasis. WiFi service is seamless. It’s a really excellent hotel and we really loved staying there.

Parking is limited and the charges should be more fully explained on Booking.com. There are private, hotel spaces that need to be booked in advance for £25 per day. There is a tiny pay and display at the front. That’s around £9 over night, going up to £4 per hour during the day, with an only an hour maximum stay so it can’t be topped up on Ringo. We moved to the 24hr NCP car park nearby but this meant getting up earlier than I’d like and yomping about before breakfast during our stay. If made clear at time of booking I would have tried to book a private space at the hotel car park. We did have a minor issue with hot water coming out of the cold taps, having to run them for a time to get cooler water but this wasn’t a major inconvenience, just odd. It had cleared on the second morning.

The room itself was spectacular, as was the bathroom. The shower was fantastic. The bath looked enticing, but as we were only there one night, and we arrived late I didn't get a chance to have one. The bed itself was large and comfy. The evening meal in the restaurant was great, the young waiter was very attentive and very knowledgeable.

I had notified the hotel I was gluten-free before the stay and was disappointed at breakfast, there was very little choice, especially the Continental Breakfast. There was no ham or cheese, which is something I usually like to have. Also, the gluten-free bread which was offered (when I asked), was the basic white sliced kind. I believe I know which brand it was, and they do have other more tasteful breads and rolls. I'd hoped that a hotel such as this would have more choices and would buy a more superior bread for those guests who do have gluten issues.
