It’s cozy with good taste. The owner is down to earth and very easy to talk to like a good old friend. She pampers us well with free snacks in the lounge along with a bottle of wine and some liqueurs. The TV has a variety of channels and we spent a great deal in the lounge just to chill and watching the sun go down. Our room is spacious with fridge, kettle along with tea, coffee and delicious muffins. We also made good friend with Benji the dog. Our stay was a very enjoyable 3 nights. We were aware of the walk up and we made plan to walk down to town do our things, finish our meal early afternoon and walk up slowly, it was fine with us and a great way to walk off the big meal we had ;D

We absolutely loved our stay at Balmoral Lodge. The views and setting were incredible and the staff were all very friendly and accomodating. It was lovely to stay at a place with such a welcoming home feel, so much better than a soulless hotel. Benji the dog was also always happy to greet us! The room was large but also very cosy, and the view cannot be beaten! What a great spot!

The lodge was little walk, including a very steep hill, from the main town. Not ideal if you don’t have a car. Climbing up to the lodge was a little inconvenient but being up the hill afforded such spectacular views so it is arguably worth it!

We really enjoyed our stay at Balmoral Lodge! It felt very comfortable and was much better than staying at a generic hotel. The bed was so comfortable and there was a lot of space in the room as well as a clothes and shoe rack, which was super handy to help us settle in. The muffins and choccies left everyday by Cis were a lovely gesture and much care was taken to prepare our room each day. Very homely vibe and sitting in the lounge or outside to soak up the view was another bonus! Cis was also happy to help with our washing and where to park our rental car. Would recommend Balmoral Lodge to anyone and would stay here again! Thank you!

The walk back up to the lodge was quite steep! But most of Queenstown is quite steep, and we actually came to enjoy the burn of the walks back up after indulging in so much food and drink during our stay!!

The B&B hotel is in a great location, with an unobstructed view of the beautiful scenery of Queenstown; the check-in experience is excellent, the landlady is very hospitable, provides free snacks and a variety of wines, and the wine is quite delicious; we are from China and cannot communicate with the landlady My wife communicates directly with words, and the two parties can only interact through body language. The landlady also helped me provide me with toothache medicine to relieve the pain. I am very grateful to the landlady. I will always remember this pleasant trip to Queenstown.

Fantastic and amazing views from the property. Spacious interior with great cooking facilities. Manicured lawn to use at the front and outside dining table and patio, which must be a rarity. We were very comfortable in the unit and able to relax and enjoy the views

It was all good and a great place to stay in Queenstown. Without a car it is a 20 min walk uphill from town but this is more than compensated by the view and Ubers are plentiful.

Fantastic views from the room which was a wonderful sight to wake up to in the morning. At times we relaxed as we sat and watched the comings and goings of the various watercraft on the lake or the hang gliders drifting down from the sky lift. Cosy velour bath robes added a nice touch. Lovely garden with roses adding colour to the well maintained terraces. We walked into town which was downhill. Cab/ Uber were readily available to take us back to Balmoral Lodge. A car would have been handy but not essential. Cis was a great host and very welcoming!

tea/coffee supplied & a muffin supplied for your breakfast perhaps the availability to use a micro wave/toaster would be good however not very far into town for excellent meals Ciss our host was excellent in making us feel welcome and was only too willing to help as was her staff Thank you all for making our stay at the lodge fantastic regards Anne & George

The only part i did not like was driving my car out on the road as the local traffic came around the corner and down the hill much to quick for me their being a bad blind spot their with three roads meeting on the corner

The view! Beautiful to wake up to and end the night to! Pictures are what you get. Staff all very friendly and able to help with any request. We asked where we could do our laundry in town and to our surprise they were able to do our laundry for us and left everything dried and folded in our room. Great recommendations and knowledge of the area. The shared lounge area with complimentary drinks and nibbles was a nice touch. Gardens well maintained and outside are a nice place to relax. We would stay here again for the views and hospitality!

We didn't mind the walk that everyone mentions back up hill to the property, it is Queenstown so everyone has to walk up hill! If you want a view you'll make the sacrifice :)

Our stay was fantastic, the room was cosy and spotless and cleaned each day. Our host was wonderful and friendly and absolutely loved the little dog :) I had some leftovers from a restaurant that she even let me heat up in her kitchen the next day, she really does open up her home to you. Neighbourhood is quiet and you feel very safe. There's a lovely room with nibbles and brandy/wine that is open to guests with a great view looking over Queenstown. Parking available on the drive. Milk in the fridge for tea/coffee in the room plus some lovely large muffins.

Quite a steep walk uphill back to the property from town but that is just Queenstown for you. Just be wary also when backing off the drive as it's on a corner and a bit hard to see traffic coming round. But clutching at straws here, the property was fantastic.

Fantastic views of Queenstown from the property. Cis was a brilliant host and gave us really useful information about places to go. We went to Ayrburn on her recommendation and had a wonderful lunch there. The bed was also very comfortable and property was a short walk from the town centre.

It wasn't a big issue, but the walk back to the house was quite steep.
