We had the Scottish breakfast this morning. It included black pudding and Haggis. The hotel is on the site of a fromer church. They saved the Facade and built the hotel behind that. It is modern. Breakfast is included if you are a guest. The staff is excellent. David (white hair) was great.

Parking is at the Omni event center next door. You need to book it ahead of time, but you get a 50% discount if you stay at the Glasshouse. You need to provide your license plate number, so, if you rent a car, enter that number when you pickup the car. The gate reads the front plate number and opens. The entrance to the parking lot is on the left and the second or thrid place to turn in. The hotel price is high, but it is very close to the center of town and near a shopping mall. Also, the Edinburgh Fringe was going on, so that boosted the price.

Location is great! The check in process was brisk and crisp! The room was good and comfortable. Well equipped in all respects! The only hitch being that every time you need to access the room, you need to pass through a horrendously long terrain of lobbies and the central bar. Breakfast was good and serve was great! Special mention for Gopi who was more than willing to help us with our choice.

As we enter our room, we're met with a gigantic pillar disturbing the flow of movement between the bathroom and the bed. What piece of architectural wonder that is...? Also on the penultimate day of our stay, we realised our room wasn't made up until 3pm. And at 3:30 we hear a knock from housekeeping if we're game for a room clean. We were tired and asked if that can be done when we go out for dinner. The answer was a thorough 'yes'! We returned to our room at 11pm, only to see that our room wasn't made. Bummer!!!!

Very attentive staff at reception, the Snug bar and diningroom*. Loved the seating in the bar area, it was perfect for a drink, a bite and great conversation. Loved that we had a room with doors leading to the rooftop garden and terrace.

The only negative thing of our entire stay was that we came into the diningroom* on a Sunday morning at 10.30 and were almost turned away for service. We slept in that day and I had checked the website where it said breakfast was served until 11.00 so I thought we were okay. It was sorted in the end but made us feel unwelcome at first when all we wanted was a light breakfast. In the end, we were served and had a great breakfast.

The location couldn't be better, an easy walk to most of both New Town and Old Town. Once the new tram to the airport is working (it's being tested) access to and from the airport will also be very simple. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the mornings was excellent with a combination of hot entrée choices a continental buffet. The bar and gardens were very pleasant.

Like much of Edinburgh, this hotel is expensive. You get many benefits, but you also pay a high price for them.

It was a stunning building, very stylish entrance. The location was perfect for what we had planned. The views from the roof were excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding lovely. The complimentary drinks were a very nice surprise. It was also my husband’s birthday which we did not mention but we were left delicious chocolates. We loved the outdoor seating outside our room and the option of sitting outside with drinks from the snug bar.

Our room seemed to be specially for someone who was disabled as there was a emergency pull cord in the shower and the bathroom sink was extremely low.

Lovely boutique hotel, right next door to the playhouse & omni centre. Great room with a huge comfy bed. Complimentary juices, water & nespresso coffee pods. Lovely bathroom with robe, slippers & Elemis toiletries. Had a luxury feel to the room & hotel. Staff were amazing, especially the guy who showed me to my room. I was surprised when I discovered the garden and seating area outside my room, which was lovely.

They add a service charge, which is absolutely fine but works out dearer than the price you think you are paying quoted on booking.com.

Good hospitality is about maximising guest experience, and glasshouse knows exactly how to do that. We were warmly greeted by David, a more amazing front of house person I’ve not seen (and I work in hospitality). He was warm in his greeting, looked after us, gave us a tour of the key elements of the hotel, and was able to tell us a few stories about the experiences we were undertaking. When guest experience is paramount, moments like this, without a screen in the middle are so important. The snug bar was amazing and a great visit before we headed out for an evening meal. My second trip to the hotel, and it won’t be my last.

One of the plugs wasn't working in the room, but this was minor. Outside of that, really nothing.

Every employee we met was exceptionally kind, professional, and helpful. The manager Rachel went above and beyond in making sure that our visit for our Wedding anniversary was special. We loved the room and the view of the gardens, turn down service was a lovely touch, and the whiskey bar and restaurant was super fun!

We didn't experience anything we didn't enjoy at the Glasshouse. The only thing I can think of is that the sign isn't super obvious, but my husband spotted it right away while I walked right by! If you're not very observant, watch out! But it's a beautiful converted church, so easy to spot based on that.

We were blown away by the Hotel from the minute we got there! We arrived well before check in time just to drop our bags off and then go to for lunch then the theatre but our room was ready so we were taken there and then given a tour by the lovely Isaac, such a professional very charming member of staff. The receptionist ( didn’t get her name ) was also very friendly and so welcoming. Everyone we encountered treated us so well and made us feel very special.

We couldn’t fault anything!

Our room was spacious and had an outdoor terrace. The bar area and rooftop courtyard are great. We stayed there twice on the same trip and The air conditioning in our room was not working either time. The first visit when the temp was lower was not too bad. The second trip was miserable and we asked to be moved to another room after several attempts to fix the cooling.

A/C problems.
