The location, value for the price, and the people have made this stay incredible (special thank you to Maru!) We loved Ballena and Mirissa So much, we decided to extend our stay from 3 nights to 6 and it was a very easy decision for us to spend those extra nights here. The room and bed are very large with a great balcony and view.

The wifi was very shaky and actually completely stopped working one night. The staff fixed it the next day but it was still very slow. There was construction taking place on the property which was loud at times, but it should be completed in a few days.

Our room was very nice as per the photos and was very clean. We had a lovely view over the pool which was nice and big and kept clean.The hotel manager Madu was really nice and friendly and organised a scooter for me as soon as we arrived. The location was also good not far from the beach.

We came in the off season which made the hotel feel a bit stark and sterile. Perhaps some plants and artwork in the common areas could help with that. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain for most of the day and the hotel didn't have an indoor dining area, which was strange. They had some tables outside near the reception which were in the rain which meant we had to have breakfast in our room bringing in our table from the balcony which was also drenched.

Very large, clean and modernly furnished rooms with a huge terrace overlooking palm trees and other green trees. Quiet location, very comfortable beds and breakfast is delivered to the room every morning at the desired time. The staff is super friendly and responds to every wish: breakfast wishes, beach towels... We first had concerns that the accommodation is too far from the beach...but it is only a 2-minute walk to the beautiful Mirissa Beach. we are actually happy not to have stayed directly on the beach. It can be loud there until late at night. If you don't feel like spending the day at the beach, you can also spend the day really relaxed by the huge hotel pool. All in all the best place we‘ve been to on our Sri Lanka Trip. We also decided to extend the stay.

There is actually nothing to complain about.

location just a 2 min walk to beach, closer to the beach restaurants and Mirissa have a fantastic clean Long Beach. nice spacious room with huge balcony, comfortable beds, safe, nice toilet, calm and relaxing and a cozy hotel. Friendly staffs and ready to help you with everything. Friendly owner.

lift is too hot, need a fan and a proper ventilation. 3rd floor room had a issue with the light, 1st floor room had to spend some time to lock the room, pool tiles are black, I wish it was blue so can see the bottom well and see how well it’s maintained. bills are paid in local currency so I was charged extra around usd 13 more than what is shown on Booking.com

We had a great stay at Ballena Regency. Clean room, nice and helpful staff. The hotel is +/- 300m from the beach. Because it is a bit further from the main road, it is very quiet which is nice. Lastly the beds were very comfortable!

During our stay there wasn’t really a restaurant where you can have breakfast/dinner. Breakfast was served to the room.

The location was really good, short walk down a lane to a really popular beach. The area was safe and staff were amazing. The room was modern, bed big and comfortable and had a big fridge which was handy. The breakfast each morning was lovely and we both got the Sri Lankan one. The pool was good and they gave you towels if you wanted to go to the beach.

The environmental noise was the only issue we had. The dogs that roamed the neighbourhood sometimes barked a lot night. You couldn't hear traffic though from the road that you would in other places.

Location is very convenient. Not the first line which is good , it is more calm and not that noisy. This hotel has a pool which is great after the sunny day. Water is warm and the depth is good. Room design is modern. Breakfast is in the room and quite good. Balcony had nice view. Liked the hotel a lot.

There were a lot of insects. I don't know if this is hotels or locations problem. But everywhere on the balcony, table, chairs and inside the room.

The rooms are large, tastefully decorated and the largest bed I have seen, so comfortable too! The place is kept very clean with a lovely clean pool area,(towels supplied). A plentiful breakfast was served on our spacious balcony at the time we requested and by cheerful staff who are only too happy to help in any way. Its down a short path from the beach, it was peaceful and you could watch the wildlife go about their business.

Comfortable rooms, great location, and the staff went above and beyond to make us happy! They bring you breakfast on the balcony each morning and even helped arrange a whale watching excursion for us. Anything we needed, they provided - very kind people! Would stay again.

It was all excellent - the plug sockets on the balcony did not work and one of the plugs near the bed was inaccessible, but it did not hinder our stay.

The staff is very helpful, they will organize everything you need (good exchange rate, tuc tuc to Galle, taxi to the airport). The room is big enough with the terrace. Place is very close to the main beach (5min walk). But...

We were there for two nights, on the first night there was some techno party in the neighborhood, I can't describe how loud that was, like the biggest speaker in your room, very, very disturbing. The door to the terrace can't close totally, so basically there is no sound barrier from the outside. The party was ongoing until midnight, tomorrow we heard from other guests that this is repeating every couple of days. Another bad thing is the entry door to the room, they close automatically with a loud bang, so you can hear anybody entering their room. And lastly, the bathroom is smelly, there is some pipe draining into the floor drain, maybe this is from the AC in the room.
