Room was clean and transport was convenient. Close to the coast.

There was no shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom although soap and lotion was provided. The only sink in the room was too small to fill up the kettle or water bottles etc. Since our stay was 2 nights, it would have been nice for housekeeping to give us fresh cups for coffee. We were told housekeeping would bring us shampoo but they never visited or cleaned our room mid-stay. No extra towels or linens in the closet as was described in the property's manual. Our room had a private patio but it had clearly not been cleaned in a very long time. The patio floor was dirty with dirts and plant trimmings and cigarettes butts.

The White House is a lovely boutique hotel in Kemptown, on a side street close to the sea and with many independent cafes, bakery, florist and shops nearby. By the sea is the superb Brighton Sealanes, a 5 minute walk away. We stayed in the King suite, Room 3, and it was fabulous. Spotless, spacious, stylish, comfortable, bright and had many little extras that made our stay really enjoyable. There is a little fridge, hairdryer and good wardrobe space. The bed was huge and really comfortable with lovely linen. The bathroom was stylish, good shower and very nice complimentary toiletries. We had a long balcony that we could access from either the bed area or the lounge. It was surprisingly quiet for a city hotel and we slept really well. Communication with the Manager was consistent and excellent, the code entry was smart and easy. We have already recommended this hotel to friends... and as we have friends who live nearby we have no doubt that we will be booking this lovely hotel again. Thank you The White House, you were fab!

We had the double from, with a balcony - the room was spacious, clean and really comfortable. It’s a keyless property, which was actually really handy and easy to use! The extra touches of chocolates / teas / cookies and coffee machine were really lovely! The towels were huge and fluffy! The bed was comfortable!

Only very small problem was the radiator wouldn’t turn off, but I know if we messaged it would have been sorted straight away but it was our last night and we just got on with it. But other than that, outdoor noise but that’s not the property’s fault - would just recommend wearing ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Would happily stay here again!!

It was very Clean and the bed was very comfortable, it was very helpful being able to leave our bags on the last day until we needed them .

The stairs were very steep and felt a little uneasy of the thought that every room had the same key code to their rooms

Loved the little touches like water, chocolate, tea, coffee, body wash, body lotion and shampoo. Hairdryer and tv, nice warming radiators for winter with heated towel rail. Very clean and new crisp decor, although a very compact room, it has everything you need. Good communications and a very detailed brochure of the area with places to visit, eat, and drink. Bed and lining were good quality and comfortable.

Not a complaint, it is central to Kemptown and it comes with the territory that you'll have passing party traffic until the early hours. I did find knotted hair on the carpet and a random material item, along with something already in a bin. Hoovering duties could be better concentrated. I would have rated full stars if those small issues had not presented. Overall a very decent place to stay.

Really clear instructions and when I asked that my room be on a lower floor the property were incredibly accommodating and even upgraded me free of charge. The room was a fantastic size and very comfortable furnitures. The shower was really nice and the hand wash smelled really nice. It felt very secure and there was plenty of storage space and floor space.

The only slight issue I would say was that I was a bit cold in the evening but the weather was absolutely horrific and I had been out in it so its more likely I had just caught a chill.

Firstly, the communication with the very lovely owner was amazing! which made my stay feel personalised and a refreshing change from bigger hotels. Secondly, the check in was seamless, where upon I found a gorgeously tasteful hotel within a stones throw from the sea front. Lastly, I booked the suite and was pleasantly surprised as to how spacious it was, with lush bedding and lovely decor. An absolute bargain! In finality, this is definitely a hidden gem and I would thoroughly recommend anyone looking at high standards for reasonable prices.

Nothing, it was all excellent

It was a very clean, spacious bedroom (open plan) with a 2 seater sofa & large Tv (not watched, but there if wanted) & balcony with 2 doors that could be opened onto this if desired. The communication with the owner who called to check if everything was okay was appreciated. He talked us through the heating system to ensure we were happy with everything - we were. We had no problems. Dressing gowns were also available if so desired ( again we did not use these ourselves). Lots of various teas, plus biscuits & Nescafé sachets, choc Kit Kats & semi skimmed & oat milk sachets provided. Quiet for us with no issues with the road it sits on. Jan visit so overall quiet in general. Black out curtains were in the bedroom & sitting area which were needed owing to the other neighbouring properties having lights on both inside & outside. They worked brilliantly & furnishings were in very good order. The bed was good quality along with the bedlinen. Very clean hallway & stairs too. Felt very secure within our room with keypad entry system & double doors into the room itself. Only a 15 min stroll into The Lanes etc. Interesting eclectic mix of shops, cafes, Italian restaurants etc only 5 mins away. Very happy with this location & accomodation. Car parking (App required for payment) 2 mins walk to beachfront.

Suggestions; A privacy hedge or willow panels placed on the inside the railings would provide a more enjoyable area for those who wish to sit at the table & chairs provided in the patio area . Otherwise (particularly in the busier summer months), you may see any traffic sitting at the lights, or just passers by in general. The shower would have been far better if it had increased pressure or maybe a pump could be installed - but is adequate, & the shower head did have various options which was a good addition for a basic shower. These are NOT complaints just observations.

Great location, cleaniness, design of the room, access and view of the sea from the room!

my room (single at the top floor) was completely lacking of any sort of power sockets. Luckily it was not a problem for me as I only stayed one night had full batteries on my devices and a full power bank to charge my phone. It would have been a disaster when I normally travel for work as I need to charge many devices, camera batteries, laptop etc overnight. I understand this might be a safety issue due to the presence of the shower and sink in the room, but it would be nice to provide at least low voltage USB charging ports... Also specify this upon booking, rather than finding that out at night while looking everywhere (even under the bed) while trying to charge my phone...

2nd time staying here. We find it great value for money and very comfortable, clean and convenient. There are nice pubs, cafes and restaurants locally and if you use the Just Park app, parking can be found easily fairly locally and cheaply. The bed is super comfy and the crisp linen in very luxurious. It's an easy key pad system for entry and there is always plenty of tea and coffee and even a chocolate treat to tuck in to...

Shower could be a little more powerful but I am nit-picking here..
