THE VIEW. The majestic Ella Rock and whole Ella mountain range (along with Adam's peak) was right Infront of our eyes. The host upgraded us to a family room, which had two huge beds, an enormous balcony with a STUNNING view. We were in awe of the view from every corner of the room as the walls were all glass on the balcony side. Breakfast was really good too, with egg hoppers, coconut rotis, fresh juice, fruits and other regular menu. We had breakfast on the balcony the first day day and inside the second day as we had some visitors (7-8 monkeys) ! :D We got to enjoy their activities from inside the room as they were on our balcony for almost 40-50 mins eyeing our breakfast. It was one unique experience to have. The room is a cozy woodhouse cabin style which was exactly what I wanted in Ella. We stayed for two nights and absolutely enjoyed the room and the views.

The Bathroom fitting is a bit old fashioned, it could use some renovations. Other than that everything was perfect!

Country homes in Ella was our favourite place of our trip. The view from our balcony into the valley was incredible, with ella rock on one side and little adams peak on the other. Worth it for this alone. The staff had whatsapp, so they were always on hand in case we had any questions. They used this to arrange breakfast, which they brought to the room for us to enjoy on the balcony. Really quick and simple communication. The room was huge, and comfortable. Air con was great. It really was an amazing place. Thanks to the staff who really looked after us whilst we were there. The hotel was a 5minute walk from the main 'strip' in Ella, so it was really convenient and accessible if its own private entrance.

Most beautiful view we had during our whole trip. Rooms are spacious and clean, with huge balcony. We spent a lot of time just sitting on the balcony admiring the mountain/jungle views. Breakfast served on the balcony was a blast as well (need to watch out for monkeys though!). Location wise - close to Ella centre, but away from noise. Can't recommend it enough!

Hotel is not well signposted from the top of the main road - additionally there is another establishment called "Country HOUSES" which is quite confusing. Keep in mind hotel is on a hill and there are quite steep stairways to reach rooms

The location overlooking the green mountains from your balcony, fully immersing you in nature is absolutely breathtaking! Despite the peaceful atmosphere you are only a 10 minute walk away from Ella city centre which is amazing. The room was massive and had these giant windows overlooking the beautiful surroundings. The bathroom was also stunning and best shower ever! The lovely staff bring you breakfast to your room every morning that you get to enjoy on your private balcony and that is such a wonderful start to your day. In general their hospitality was wonderful, everyone was so kind.

Large room with great views. Excellent breakfasts that varied each of the 3 days we were there, short uphill stroll to Ella central. Friendly hosts. Beware there are a lot of uneven steps up to your room, however the staff will carry your cases to your room and during your stay you communicate with the staff through whatsapp, so you don't need to keep going up and down the steps to talk to the staff.

Air conditioner didn't work when we first arrived and took two requests before it was fixed, and once fixed it worked perfectly. Bed wasn't very comfortable.

Absolutely loved our stay here! The balcony, the views, the crew, the breakfast they serve on the balcony (what a treat), the comfortable bed, the hot shower - everything was perfect! Super spacious beautiful rooms, and there is a shortcut to Ella town, which means it’s only a 5 min walk. They also took care of booking our taxi from Kandy which was very well organised, and they made restaurant reservations for us. Thank you so much amazing Country Homes team - we wish we could have stayed longer!

Maybe only the noise from the street, but it didn’t bother us at all and we had such a great night’s sleep! We would book again in a heartbeat!

Amazing family run accommodation in Ella. Fantastic views of Ella Rock and beyond. The breakfast provided is really nice and is brought to your room so you can enjoy it on your balcony (but be cautious of the odd monkey or two looking to share your breakfast). They provided loads of info ahead of our visit including a reasonably priced tuk tuk pick up from the station if you're arriving by train + any transfers you may want when leaving. Great location only 10 mins walk from the main hub of bars and restaurants.

The view from the room is magnificent and the balcony is perfect for a relaxed breakfast The bed is very comfortable Moreover the property is 5 mins from the center

A bit noisy as it’s directly on the road, so at night it might be a bit hard to sleep knowing that the bed is very comfortable Ask about ur breakfast type especially the eggs as they do it the Siri Lankan way which u might not like it

- Cool cabin / chalet style room with lovely views of Ella! - 450m walk to Ella town - which is great if you wanted close proximity to restaurants etc. - The family who live on the property were extremely kind and helpful and gave some great tips for Ella. - Good space for parking.

- Signage for the property could be improved as we initially drove past it and couldn’t find it. - There is a 3.5% surcharge for paying by credit card (we was more than happy to pay this but just commenting as a warning to other travellers). - Lots of steps to get up to the room, which might problematic for older travellers, those with young children or dodgy knees.

You’re paying for the beautiful view!! Definitely the highlight, and we really enjoyed having breakfast brought to us by Madua so we could eat it sitting on the balcony. The welcome drink was a lovely touch. We only stayed for a night but they were very happy to arrange us a tuktuk for our next stay.

It is a bit of a walk from the main street and cars are reckless so you have to be careful. It’s actually nice because the main street of Ella is so polluted and busy.
