Honestly from start to finish our stay was excellent! We had questions months before our trip and the staff was very helpful and quick to respond. We stayed for two nights which I would recommend to anyone. It's historical and at the top of Mt Pilatus so its the only thing up there other than trails. You can only reach the hotel via cogwheel or gondola. We took the gondola up and cogwheel down, recommend to do both. Staff is superb and they all spoiled us as they spoke English. Not only did we have breakfast but we also had a 4 course dinner included. There were several menu options, I am pescatarian but often eat vegan and I had choices. The facility is very dog friendly which we LOVED. The mountain can get crowded during the day as hikers and tourists come up to visit. Many people I spoke with didn't even know you could stay up there. When the day tourists leave for the evening it is so peaceful. I haven't spoken about the views, all I can tell you is I teared up several different times with the pure beauty that was surrounding us. We were Blessed to have two good days where we could see. Obviously there is no guarantee with weather. There are a few webcams on their site which I recommend. Not a huge hiker but I did do the Dragon Trail (not scary!), another one that is a short climb up where you can watch the sunset but it was behind clouds that day and the last one that I'm not sure of the name but may be the Flower Trail (?). I know it eventually went to the church. You do take these trails at your own risk but the views are spectacular if you are one up for that adventure. There is not place here but I did video part of my hike that I will share a link to via google photos for anyone interested or curious. Have attached a few photos that I hope will help. We have recommended to several of our friends and I will tell you what I told them....GO, just do it and stay. It is well worth it! Hike link: https://photos.app.goo.
That I didn't stay another night!!

Spectacular stay - one of the most magical places I've ever stayed overnight. During my visit, we awoke above the clouds to watch the sunrise, and the experience is simply stunning. The room was perfect - comfortable, clean and more tastefully decorated than other mountaintop hotels I visited in Switzerland. Since all food has to be shipped up to the hotel, the quality of dinner far exceeded my expectations and the dining room is beautiful and classic. Staff agreed to an early check-out to allow me to descend on the first funicular run, which I appreciated.
My own fault, but when I got off the cable car I went straight to the hotel itself without realizing the hotel reception is actually directly next to the cable car and funicular station, and had to return. I waited for 5-10 minutes at the hotel building before encountering someone who told me to return to the station to check in. I feel this could have been more clearly marked in the hotel itself. Otherwise though, once I was checked-in, the experience was perfect.

It’s location on top of Pilatus Kulm mountain. Once all non hotel guest left the summit at around 17:30, the top was left open to hotel guests to enjoy. The suite was beautiful offering fantastic views of the mountains in the distance. A truly spectacular hotel in a unique location. Once in a lifetime experience. I can only imagine what it would be like in the winter.
Beware of the additional cost to reach the hotel. Unless you are an experienced mountaineer, it’s only accessible by train or cable car. This round trip is not cheap.

I liked that the hotel made a small exhibition about the history of the hotel foundation. I had an impression that they would like to introduce us what a serious and huge engineering job was behind all of this complex construction. I think it is an appreciation for everyone who create and also for everyone who keep the proper condition of this. Beside it give me -as guest- a feeling that even the hotel is above 2100 m of the sea level I can feel safe.
They have a nice and elegant restaurant and they can offer many excellent foods and drinks. Before I write the only critic I have to acknowledge that I was very satisfied also with the crew. The only thing what I would like to suggest: Handling cutlery when serving could be more hygienic. There is a protocol for this. It is not advisable to serve with your bare hands. But really that is all…. 😊 (I am sorry)

We stayed for two nights and got to climbed the peaks and see alps in the distance which was breathtaking! The half board option is really ideal for us and helped us to secure nice table and food choice. They also provide us free cable or cogwheels tickets for the 2nd day that allowed us to decent to Kriens and Lucerne. We would highly recommended this place to stay for at least two nights if you love mountains and nature. The staffs are thoughtful and friendly.
Nothing, it was a wonderful stay!

Where do I begin? This hotel was perfection!! Absolutely magnificent location!!! Perched on top of the mountain with unbelievably breathtaking views! The room was large, clean and beautifully decorated. Very comfortable bed. Large shower. Delightfully scented natural shampoo and soap. Gazing out our window from our hotel was magical. And we had direct access to the magnificent mountain and so many fun activities just outside our room. A short gondola ride to mid mountain brought us to the fun and challenging rope course and the exhilarating toboggan. And we had hours of glorious hiking. We climbed up to a special platform to see the extraordinary sunset and sunrise. The staff were all exceptional! Extremely friendly and helpful. The food was abundant and delicious! Our hotel booking included a tasty and filling buffet breakfast as well as nutritious and delicious dinner featuring local ingredients. And a glass of wine to boot! Truly magical 3-night stay with my husband and 13-year-old son. I can’t wait to return!

Beautiful location, dinner was amazing. Very unique to take a gondola to your hotel- it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience.
Breakfast was disappointing (particularly after dinner was so good!). I also thought the gondola was very expensive, especially considering there is no other option to get to the hotel - feels like that should be included in the cost. So many tourists who were not staying at the hotel made the gondola right up uncomfortably crowded.

Very unique experience. You’re paying not just for the room but the view of the mountain as day turns to night and vice-versa, the food (noticeably better than at most Swiss hotels), and the idea of staying on a mountain for a night.
Hot water was slightly inconsistent, but this is to be expected due to the location. Otherwise if you’re hoping for something more trail / hike heavy, or really want pictures of the mountains at different angles, don’t come around November as most viewpoints / activities are closed.

Location is fantastic. The room was huge and views were great! Definitely worth the higher hotel rate. Breakfast was excellent and so was the quality of the dinner. Dinner was a slightly longer event but loved the food though the potato dumplings were plain and unnecessary as a side.
Maybe dinner could be a quicker affair (or make it as a faster option for those who wish to) as we were really knackered from the hikes. I also do not see why the gondola up and down for hotel guest cannot be free?

This hotel, perched atop Mount Pilatus, offers a truly unique and breathtaking experience. The scenery is unparalleled, and we were fortunate to enjoy sunny weather while the valley was blanketed in fog! The staff were friendly and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. It's the perfect retreat to escape the hustle of the city for a night. Highly recommended!
The only minor drawback is the natural limitation during winter, as walking is restricted to designated areas on Mount Pilatus.
