The room was lovely - spacious, modern and with a very comfortable bed and a rocking chair. The bathroom was good too, and well equipped with toiletries. Staff are all very friendly and helpful, and there is a nice bar by the entrance. Secure off-street parking is available locally, and the hotel is very well-situated. The centre of Basel is an easy walk, and there are lots of good places to eat nearby. A transport card is included in the stay, allowing use of trains and buses locally too.

Excellent location - right outside the Spalentor Gate. Customer service was exceptionally friendly and helpful giving us a lay of the land. We were pleasantly surprised with a small balcony in our room - which made the great space even better. Great size bathroom. Very clean rooms. Comfortable beds and pillows. Conveniently located on multiple bus lines for easy travel to/from train or plane.

I'd be hard pressed to come up with something we didn't like. The lights took me a minute to figure out, and I didn't realize I had to lock the door from the inside, but that didn't detract from our experience.

The room was spacious and although next to quite a busy road junction it was quiet. The maids kept it extremely clean and it was serviced daily. There was a good variety of hot and cold food on offer at breakfast. The staff were all lovely, extremely polite and very helpful. The Basel card which is active from arrival at the airport with a hotel booking confirmation gives free travel on buses from and to the airport , and also buses and trams while staying in Basel. There is a bus stop just across from the hotel. The number 30 takes you to the SBB Swiss station, then the number 50 bus from the same place to the airport. On the opposite side at the Spalentor Gate, a bus will take you to the German Station, I can't remember the number of the bus but the timetable at the bus stop tells you the destinations. The tram station is a few metres away from the SBB, The transport system in Basel is amazing and so efficient.

An extremely minor point would be perhaps written instructions on how to use the coffee machine.

-- Distant from the train station: Be prepared for a walk to and from the station (20-30 minutes) -- Delayed housekeeping: Rooms for stay-over guests are cleaned last, with priority given to new guest check-ins, leading to a 5-6 hour delay for service. -- No free breakfast: Breakfast isn’t included, which might be a drawback for some guests.

the room and shower were so clean. the pillows were soft, so we asked them for a little harder pillow, and they gave us a very good pillow in a 2 minutes🥰 the bed was so comfortable, the size of the room was perfect, and the view was awesome👌 the resepction girls were so friendly and kind and helpful, espical thanks to vivi( I am not sure about the full name😒) she was soooo helpful and always happy to help you🌸🥰 and the best in this hotel was the breakfast👌👌 . the location was perfect, 1 minute walk to the bus and tram station, and also you can walk to the city centre within 15 minutes 👌🥰 Hope we can come to switzerland again and stay in this hotel again 🙏🥰🥰

Wow. Loved everything about this hotel. Location, room size and breakfast were brilliant and went beyond expectations. The hotel is on the main bus and tram lines making it easy to get to from the airport and getting into the town centre and beyond was very straight forward. Room was amazing. Good size and storage space. Bathroom was also a good size and big enough for the three of use to comfortably use.

Nothing to complain about. Was perfect.

We were pleased. Location is easy to walk. (But not in the heart of the old squares, if you prefere). This street is a scene of daily life and city dwellers' area than tourists' spot. We have stayed in 6-7 different locations in Basel before, but we loved this one too. Our window opened to a beatiful historic building and Spalentor. Botanic Park is just beside. Youngsters, students to seniors, byclers to dog walkers.. Afternoon sun in the room and balcony was bonus in April. Hotel was very clean, staff was very kind and helpful as usual in Switzerland. Small entrance, bar and garden than expected but usefull and cosy for drink wine or coffee. Our room was airy. Free Basel Card, free WiFi, Nespresso and fruit treats was pleasing. And we were very pleased by the breakfast and service.

Duvets are quite thick and we got sweat.. Pillows are too soft and thin for us. A standart pillow might fit everyone.

The hotel is in an excellent location for exploring Basel. It is an easy walk to the historic centre along a beautiful street filled with interesting independent shops. It is also easy to travel around by bus and tram both of which stop a few steps away from the hotel and hotel stays come with a Basel Card which provides free travel on transport and discounted entry to museums. The staff were all very friendly and helpful - English is spoken and there is a nice little bar area offering a wide variety of drinks. Our room was large and comfortable. The bed was king size and also very comfortable. A good amount of storage is provided with a separate area for hanging bulky coats. Tea and coffee is provided and replenished daily. Bathroom was a reasonable size with a good shower. The room was cleaned every day.

There is a bit of noise from the road. It didn’t bother us too much but if you are a light sleeper that could be a problem Wi-Fi was sometimes weak.

We sought an overnight hotel in Basel code to town so that we could have stroll and meal after our late journey, and we needed a parking place. We found this great place, which exceeded our expectations. Very helpful and responsive staff, very convenient parking and a nicely furnished large room made for a pleasant surprise. The hotel has a great location close to a chummy old town gate and a street full of nice buildings, a great restaurant (Zum Tell) and a lovely evening exploration of the old town. Breakfast was good, other guests were pleasant, we were very happy and likely to return.

Great location, easy to arrive from the train station, even by foot. Also from the hotel you can easily get to the city center by foot or nr.3 tram. The room was spacious with everything that you need. The beds are large and very comfortable, the staff was very nice and helpful. At the hotel you also have a fusball table, billiards and a gym which is quite in handy if you are coming here with friends and want to have some fun inside. Overall we loved staying here and we are certain what we will return to Basel and at this hotel.

The only downside at this hotel, if you can call it a downside, is that being so close to the city center it can be a bit noisy outside even at night, but the windows do isolate the sound as much as they can so it's not that bad and you can get a good night sleep.
