The Royal Horse Guards is a classic and beautifully appointed hotel. This was my fourth stay at this charming residence . It’s like stepping back in time to the days of spies and intrigue. I was given a wonderful tour and found out that MI 6 was founded here, by Sir Mansfield Smith-Cumming. Winston Churchill also had secret headquarters here during the war. The rooms are lovely and spacious-beautifully decorated. Afternoon tea is served, bringing you back to a wonderful tradition of England’s very “civilized” enjoyment. The location is fantastic, next to the Thames River near “Big Ben”, in the heart of London. The restaurant is excellent. Delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. It even has an outdoor garden where you can sit and enjoy the lovely park next door! The hotel prices are reasonable for what you are given during your stay. I hope to return soon…. “Cheers” P

The check in area was beautiful, loved the flowers. The breakfast was amazing with lots of choice and in a lovely environment. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful and there was a lovely atmosphere.

After a long day sight seeing we wanted to relax and stream our favourite shows on the hotel television, this was not possible even after a visit from the technician.

Size of room and A/C worked well. Included water , Coke and coffee was a plus.

Asked for room with a view but got the 1st floor ally view. Management needs to consider the value proposition to various consumers based on where they come from. For example coming from US the money conversion rate for the price of the room caused my rating on value to be lower than say a UK person staying there. Throwing in an extra item like fee breakfast or a room with a view goes a long way. No USB ports to charge devices. Nothing posted in the room that said when the checkout time was.

The location is excellent, and the rooms are surprisingly quite spacious for London hotels which was very convenient for us, also the doorman Perwez has been tremendous throughout our stay offering us tips and helping us whenever possible. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

I requested a late check-out extension by two hours and I was told I needed to pay an extra 20 pounds which didn't make any sense considering I stayed for one week and paid almost 2 grand for my stay. Luckily, the manager decided to waver the extra charge so there is really nothing to dislike about the property.

Oh my goodness -practically everything. The garden view was amazing. Bed ooooh so comfortable. Amenities were amazing - All the snacks and beverages were a huge plus and kept me satisfied and beyond. Wi Fi worked very well. Staff was very friendly and competent from bottom to top. I would have liked to have seen the staircase, but didn't have a chance. Access to the garden (albeit having to walk around the building to access) was a huge plus, and I spent every evening (5 !) in the garden for a good stretch of time. EXCELLENT location, less than 1/2 mile from most of the things I wanted to see. I will gladly stay here again!

The air conditioning wasn't pumping cool air, and was unresponsive. The Caesar salad with chicken I ordered in the bar (in the menu about 20 pounds with chicken) was up priced exorbitantly on my bill. I didn't eat at the hotel again. I would also add that the bathtub width made it difficult to stand and shower, and the sides were soooo tall. Difficult for a shortie like me. Would update the TV channel selections.

Location is excellent and the character of the hotel is nice to see. Buffet breakfast is very good and our room was of a good size with a comfortable bed.

Overall we had a pleasant stay, but a few improvements or points could have made it better. On comparing our stay with the same hotel last year, we felt the hotel was getting a bit tired. The bath with overhead shower and shower curtain is a big minus and personally I think it is dangerous getting in and out of. Also the bathtub had a very poor repair that didn't look nice. The TV in the room kept going off by itself and needs replacing.

When we arrived to check in,the receptionist was most polite and helpful. She secured us an upgrade to a Garden View room...and the views blew us away !! We could see right across the gardens below to the river Thames and London Eye.It was very special once it got dark,to sit down and gaze out at everything, and seeing the London Eye with it's colour changing lights.And equally to sit in bed in the morning with a cup of tea,admiring the view. The Royal Horseguards Hotel is steeped in fascinating history and has many stories to tell.I would highly recommend a tour of the next door National Liberal Club for a real trip back to the times when Winston Churchill regularly frequented the establishment ! The room was traditionally appointed and had every modern comfort for a most memorable stay in this historical iconic building.

The afternoon tea was very disappointing. We had specifically ordered plant based alternatives, but the waiter gave us dairy milk with our tea,so had to replace it with oat milk when I complained. It took an hour before we received our plate of food,by which time the pot of tea had gone cold so we had to ask for more. The sandwiches were fine,but the cake selection was poor,with only 2 choices.They were of poor quality and way too sweet with very little flavour. Definitely not worth the £55 per head !

Staff, food and rooms were excellent. Super location for exploring London on foot or, further afield, with great access to the underground/overground and of course the Thames.

The room we stayed in was cozy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One perk we loved was the complimentary minibar—it gets refilled daily with drinks and snacks, which is a fun little bonus you don’t always get at hotels. The Royal Horseguards Hotel is near the north bank of the River Thames, and is a short walk from Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and the London Eye. The hotel is close to Charing Cross and Embankment stations which made it easy to navigate the city.

I think our room was on top of a club or concert venue, and we could hear and feel the bass vibrations. While the music did end around 11 PM-12AM, it detracted from our experience. The room we stayed in also wasn't very big. There's a nice balcony but you can't step outside - you can only open it to let a breeze come through.

Breakfast was delicious! Location allowed us to see quite a lot in a short period of time. The room was very comfortable, spacious and provided all necessities.
