These were the 2nd and 3rd times that I stayed here. First, the location on Plaza de San Miguel is great. It is very easy to walk to the Metro stations of Tirso de Molina, Sol, Opera, Gran Via, and others. There is a Dia supermarket just a few meters away and there is a wide variety of restaurants nearby. The lodging seemed to be very quiet despite being in such a happening neighborhood. Fellow guests were respectful and everything was kept very clean. From the lodging it is easy to get to either Atocha Train Station or Chamartin Train Station.

No complaints.

The location was excellent - just opposite the Mercado de San Miguel, which is a must-destination for gourmets and food lovers. Everything in the centre was within walking distance, which was very important for me. The place was very clean and the staff were kind and helpful.

I had a closet-sized single room with no window. I believe the single rooms are always the worst, as double or triple rooms have windows; still, as the price was not that cheap, the room could have been better. It was also pretty noisy, so earplugs are a must.

Fantastic location in between Sol and la Plaza Mayor right off el Calle Mayor, next to el Mercado de San Miguel, 24h farmacias, a 24h coffee/convenience shop, and super close walking distance to all sorts of attractions. The reception staff is very attentive, we were able to drop off our bags early, they were keeping an eye on cameras, got us everything we needed. The location itself is charming, older building, ample size private room, secure, keys to all the doors, good wifi, comfortable bed and nice bedding. Shared bathroom was known from the booking (we were looking for price over luxury, lol, we booked a hostal!), and they were very clean.

Our room had an extra door (that was locked, that part was fine), but the hallway lights shone through it next to one of the beds all night long. The room wasn't very insulated from voices/steps in the stairwell or the hallway either.

It is a real value for money - the room was clean, simple and robust. Bathroom facilities were also pleasant and well maintained. But the key considerations for anyone who is considering booking this place is the location! It is located right next to tourist trap market and metro station Sol, which is a really great spot for anyone who comes to Madrid for ‘tasters’.

I would say only one thing - the room colour scheme. I would suggest to pick better colours for rooms, especially the one that do not have windows. The rest is on point 👍🏻

Large room with balcony views. Perfect location for exploring Madrid - 2 mins walk from Plaza Mayor and 1 min from Calle Mayor. Really friendly and helpful staff. Nice bathrooms and showers. Vibrant area of Madrid, right opposite Mercado San Miguel, 5-10 mins walk from Palacio Real, Catedral Almudena and Plaza Sol. There is a Dia supermarket next door too.

I found it difficult to open the door with the key (a minor difficulty).

Hostal La Casa de La Plaza is a charming and simple place, perfect for travelers who want to stay right in the center of Madrid. The location is unbeatable, just next to Plaza de San Miguel and a short walk to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. The room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely traditional feel. The staff were polite and check-in was easy. It's a great budget-friendly option with an authentic local vibe. I would definitely return!

Host pointed out only 1 bathroom when there were actually 3 and that one became locked at one point so I thought I had no bathroom to use.Not used to Spsnish names on doors so I did not figure out the other 2 baths until pointed out to me.Yes,I felt very stupid afterwards but I should have been told there was a bathroom for only 2 bedrooms to share. That's a selling point that was not pointed out.

The staff was very kind and helpful all the time. The place was clean and I could see people clenaing every day. I liked the location near the Plaza Mayor and in front of the Mercado de San Miguel, even with a supermarket next to the door.

For me it was ok, but I reckon some people would prefer bigger rooms or similar. No complaints from my side.

I didn’t like the fact that had a lot of dusts under the bed! The rooms seemed really clean but if you had searched a bit more you could understand that they don’t clean everything! I wish you in the future to start cleaning everything because the property was really good!

It’s in the middle of the madrid and you don’t nerd any transportation. Location is great. Room is really clean. The wheather in the room is great. It has shared bathroom but it is clear and there is too much lavabos in a flat. So it wasnt a big deal.
