If i could rate more than 10, I would! Perfect location in the middle of Interlaken Ost and Interlaken West stations. The place is beautiful, lovely views all around. Big enough to have space for yourself even if staying in a hostel. They have a lounge area, 3 dining areas, a mess hall, big kitchen to cook meals (they provide supplies, spices and condiments, mind you!), a garden, a laundry room (10 chf only), and a playroom. Everything in this hostel was well thought of. Rooms are cozy even if sharing with others. The staff are the most lovely and accomodating people I have ever met. They also have amenities that goes way well above and beyond and very much appreciated - free breakfast, you can borrow snow shoes, day lockers for use before check in and after check out time, free transport card around Interlaken, and free postcards that you can mail to your loved ones for a minimal fee! This place is the best place to stay in Interlaken, I didn't want to leave. Definitely coming back.

The place is only 2 bus stops away from Interlaken OST station. However, we walked to the hostel the first day because it was Sunday and not many buses in service. Walking was easy - smooth path - and took 15 minutes (1 km.). I liked everything there from the kitchen, laundry area, toy room, garden, to the room. The staff were helpful. The last day after check out, we had already gone to the train station only to find out that my husband forgot his camera backpack at the hostel. I called and the staff looked for and kept it for him. If I go to Interlaken again, will stay here for sure Highly reccommend.

I think the floor in the room was not clean. Stepped on a lot of small pieces. The breakfast was not of much variety. However, you can always cook for yourself. That's what I did on the 2nd and 3rd mornings.

It was an amazing modern hostel. It was very spacious and had several common areas/lounges including a terrace with a garden. The tea is complimentary and there is a coffee machine to pay for. You got your own locker to unlock with the key card. The people staying in my dorm were the friendliest! The bathroom was in the dorm room which was very convenient. The hostel is next to a big park with a beautiful view of the mountains.

The location wasn't the greatest as it was at least 2 bus stops away from a train station and the groceries shops were also further away. I would also appreciate some more sockets in the lounge area. The beds felt quite shaky with every movement.

I loved how equipped this hostel is with everything you may need - kitchen, laundry especially. I stayed in a single room and it was simple, but sufficient. You get a free transport pass for the duration of your stay, which is handy! Staff is friendly and they accommodated me when I requested a room swap. The place is well maintained and the location is great.

The only thing that really bothered me was the shower - it was small and closes with the curtain. It felt uncomfortable and claustrophobic. I also wish people socialised more in there (or maybe I was just unlucky); this would make the place a lot more lively and attractive.

Private room was decently sized, can open 2 large luggages. Located right in front of the bus stop which is very convenient when arriving with the luggages. Liked that the shower and toilet is separate. Breakfast was included but limited, could do with some fruits or protein such as hard boil eggs. Great coffee at breakfast.

Would be nice to have a fresh change of towels daily, on request without charge. It is weird to have to pick up towels at check in reception especially when we already have to carry so many stuffs. Same for check out, we have to bring the used towels back to the reception. A little overpriced, even for Swiss standard.

One of the best hostels that we stayed in during our trip to Switzerland. Since we were to travel during the Easter break we weren't sure about our Hostel stay since it was the first time that we were to experience our hostel stay. After reading so many reviews about Back papers Villa Sonnenhof, we knew that this would be the ideal place for our stay. Right from the time of our check in, Eric and Jannie were so friendly and courteous. They helped us with all our queries and always asked us every morning about our plans for the day. The room was a 6 bed dormitory room with a shared bathroom and toilet inside the room. We are Indians and our roommates also were Indians and we had a nice time chatting with them and sharing our travel stories. The shared kitchen was very huge with lots of cooking stations with all the equipment and utensils required for cooking. In the evening it was a pleasure to watch people from different parts of the world all cooking their own food with different kinds of aroma coming from all over. This was truly a pleasant sight to watch. They had plenty of places to sit around indoors and outdoors and the snow mountains around the hostel were so beautiful. The bus stop is right in front of the hostel and we tried to take all the bus routes which came free with our hostel guest card. The breakfast was a bit let down with very few items on the buffet menu....they could have kept a few cold cut salamis, croissants or pain au chocolats or fruits. They had muesli, breads and different spreads like jams, cheese, butter,honey etc. Since it was Easter they had coloured boiled Easter eggs. We were there for 4 nights, so we found the breakfast to be a bit boring each day. They had table tennis and other sports available in the play area. Overall a very comfortable stay except for the choice at Breakfast.

The hostel was well located and equally distant from both train stations. We had free public transport in Interlaken so the bus stop nearby would take you to either of these stations also - though we didn't use it. We were upgraded to a 4-bed female dorm. Great views from our room. Towels, etc, provided. We had free luggage storage on checkout - you get to choose the locker to leave your bags in and can take the key away with you. There was breakfast included - this was basic enough with breads, some cereals, hot drinks/juices and various spreads for the breads. Yoghurts, etc, too. Might be leaving out some stuff but there wasn't pastries or the like but it was OK all the same. The hostel was located beside the big green area where lots of paragliders land into. On the other side of the green brings you to bars, restaurants, etc. The views all around are stunning. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel itself was lovely and clean and quite modern and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay here.

for the value you paid it’s actually more than to what they offer facilities that are needed were provided pantry where you can cook, charging station FOR FREE!! Imagine?

probably the breakfast? don’t get me wrong it’s quite decent bread variety of spreads, yogurt, oats coffee just wondering there’s not that much protein such as sausage okay it’s not a hotel! how about just egg? but overall highly recommended!

This place is situated in between both the interlaken ost and west, making it a super convenient spot for your travels within the regions. It's very close to sights and nearby stores. Plenty of space in the dorms, very secure. Facilities are great and has everything you need for a short or long stay. Travelling solo and staying here also made it quite easy to meet new people, as the common areas are huge!

Not a huge deal but the free breakfast is simple, so if you're a big breakfast person, it's definitely worth preparing your own meals or going into town for breakfast
