The hike up to Alpenlodge is challenging but well worth it for the views. E-taxis after a long day were very helpful!

Breakfast was really good. We love the place , its quite and overlooking the famous mountain Matterhorn at the room balcony . The view of the village with snow was also very amazing . I love to comeback again this place. Worth the value of your money. Highly recommended

Alpenlodge one of the best hotel that I have ever stayed in, with services and value way more than many 5 star hotels! The lodge and the rooms are exceptionally beautiful, with many unique and delicate touches. The folks who work there are amazingly friendly and helpful beyond belief. There is always cake, snacks, coffee, and light drinks available for guests, and if you book a two night stay like we did, they will pick you up and drop you off from the train station for free. Most importantly, the room we stayed in features pretty much the best view of the magnificent Matterhorn. That view alone is already worth the price, let alone all the other exceptional services. Given how much things cost in Zermatt, this place is a bargain!

It's a steep walk from the train station and downtown, but that means you get peace and nice vantage points.

We liked everything about the property. The location, the style, the people were all 10/10. The fact that it’s a bit further up the hill makes for incredible Matterhorn views from pretty much everywhere. We later learned the owner made a lot of the furniture in the breakfast area himself! The breakfast exceeded all our expectations. They had a variety of cheeses, bread, yogurt bar with fruit e and grains (we enjoyed the musli) homemade jams, and would make eggs and coffee to order. The fact that such a nice breakfast was included was extremely convenient before heading out for the day. They also call you a taxi to pick you up and drop you off from the train (also included) station which was very thoughtful and appreciated touch. The place is very nice without feeling pretentious. Lots of wood/stone, organic materials. I could definitely see myself staying here on future trips to Zermatt.

We have zero complaints about this place. The only observations would be blinds by the bed upstairs in our room would let some of the street light in at night. Also, it would have been nice to have some sort of way to have a Bluetooth connection to the TV. We didn’t watch much tv because we were to amazed by the view.

Thank you for including the cost of the Cervino Taxi service from, and back to, the train station with a minimum of 2 night stay. The amazing steam room, sauna, and relaxation area that are included with the cost of the stay was a highlight! I also liked the proximity to a scenic trail to the base of the Schwarszee chairlift. The handmade furniture and decor gave the modern renovation a lot of character.

I was confused regarding the taxi as it’s not a taxi belonging to the hotel, but rather a local company called Cervino Taxi.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Everything was perfect — from the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms to the overall atmosphere of the property. What really stood out to me was the reception staff. They were incredibly professional, friendly, and welcoming. Their efficiency and warm attitude made check-in and check-out smooth and pleasant. I truly appreciated their attention to detail and willingness to assist with anything I needed.

Best​ view ever, overlook the whole of zermatt and Matterhorn. Exactly what you see from the photos. Very friendly owner, they even provide small snacks with coffee/tea in the afternoon. It's this small yet appreciated things that amazed me. Room was clean and comfy. Nice Bath soaps are provided. It's located on the higher ground which mean you have to walk up slopes, not a problem for me, you have to earn your views! Taxi is provided for those staying 2 nights and above, if not, you can purchase taxi coupon from hotel at 15chf per trip. Advice for u is to book early.

The propery is great and stylish (with some furtniture made by the owner!). The staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was big enough and we were supper happy we could bring our dog with us with no additional cost. Breakfast was tasty however could be a bit more veggies and fruits but in general was very good.

The construction happening in the building next door. Good we were waking up early so the workers didnt wake us up.

It was perfect and exactly how we imagined. Amazing views of the Matterhorn from the room and dining space. Great staff specially Martin, who managed the dinner for us on request. Don’t have the name but the morning breakfast cook was super nice and courteous. Absolutely loved the service. Breakfast spread was good too. Rooms were super cozy and big and best was the heated bathroom floor.

Staff and owners/managers were so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious, good variety and eggs cooked to your liking if wanted Afternoon homemade cake and tea - amazing! Room was modern, clean, large and had an incredible view of the Matterhorn. Gowns and slippers provided for the wellness. Sauna/steam room was clean and modern The hotel is about 17 min walk from the centre however we really enjoyed the walk. It’s also up an incline but this gave us fantastic views over Zermatt. There is a heated ski room however we used the ski lockers at the top of Sunegga as we didn’t fancy the 7-10 min walk back uphill ( a good move!)

Nothing! Only thing to watch out is that you confirm which exit to the station the taxi will be waiting. There are two, we went out of the wrong one and ended up paying for a taxi as the driver persuaded us he was there to pick us up! (He wasn’t, our taxi was at the other exit!)
