The hotel is beautiful but the rooms are a bit disappointing if I was really honest. But I would still go back . The staff are friendly the location is great and the hotel itself is self is beautiful

The restaurant and other areas are beautiful

The hotel is close to the centre of Chester, situated by the train station. It's easily walkable to the centre, only 5 minutes walk. The room was great for the price, (£80 for one night), there's a huge amount of rooms at this hotel, but it was still fairly quiet. Breakfast was good too, it's buffet style with a lot of choice, both continental options and traditional full English breakfast options too.

The check-in time was a little later that other hotels at 4pm, so if you're looking at checking in any earlier than that, then this hotel isn't for you. There is parking behind the hotel, but it's first come first served, priced at £8 for 24 hours. The car park was full as it seemed commuters use it for the train station.

Don't fall for the parking scam. There's a green car park named Queen that charges 12.5£/ 24hrs. On the other side of the fence is a red car park (next to the modern brick building) which is 9£ only. There is also a car park opposite on City Road which also is cheaper. Hotel staff, of course, will not tell you about their parking scam...

- Comfy bed - Great location - Decor/architecture is really nice

- TV in the bedroom was genuinely 20 years old (limited channels, poor quality, no way to connect to it etc) - The duvet cover had a huge yellow stain on it, without even thinking about what it could be it’s very unpleasant considering what we paid (we even upgraded room after booking) - Hairs in the bath. If it was just the one we would understand but there was a good 4/5 hairs clearly visible. My partner quite likes to get a bath when book somewhere nice, but was understandably put off. - The building itself is beautiful and there’s ton of interesting statues dotted around, but unfortunately the rooms/cleanliness seems to have fallen down the priorities

Parking confusing though as £24 on the main car park overnight , using the station car park which is the other side of the fence was £8 per night which we found out due a couple Infront of us at reception were discussing as had already paid the premium rate

Lovely spacious double room. We were glad we were not tempted by offers of an upgrade, which would have been entirely unnecessary. The location right by the station is brilliant - a short walk to the city centre, shorter once we discovered the rear exit to the hotel car park. We had breakfast on 3 days - excellent, fresh, good choice, but a little pricey if you did not need a full meal. The bar area, snack service and outdoor terrace provide a relaxing space.

Our twin bed was made up as a double on arrival, but this was sorted out before bedtime. Housekeeping missed out our room on one day, but it didn't matter. Food service at the bar a little slow on times, but food is good quality and well presented.

Great hotel close to the centre, the staff were friendly, great size room for a family, and the breakfast had a good selection. Within walking distance of the centre and easy parking close to the hotel. Lovely touch of crisps and chocolate in the room on arrival and the cleaning staff were friendly checking in if we needed anything else, overall a great hotel to stay at!

The only slight negative was there was a smell in the bathroom

The hotel is lovely and opposite the train station. It is about a 5 to 10 minute walk into the city centre. It has a lovely large court yard you can sit and relax in with sun umbrellas, statues and water fountain. My room had a large TV, very comfy bed, seating area, hair dryer and tea making facilities.

I used the restaurant on my first evening and ordered the fish and chips, which unfortunately to me were very disappointing 😞 The batter on the fish was thick and heavy and the fish inside was very dry. I did not use the restaurant again, this is not to say the other meals would not be to my liking.

The hotel is situated across the road from Chester train station, which was ideal as we were attending an event at Wrexham. It was also only a ten minute walk into Chester City centre. There was a large courtyard/garden for the guests within the hotel building, this was a surprise and was clean, well furnished and well kept. We had breakfast in the Fork and Flavour, which is on the canal about 500 yards up the road towards the City centre, which turned out to be a great choice, excellent service and well priced.

To be honest, I couldn't fault our stay. There were some rude guests, but the staff handled them politely and respectfully. Breakfast was very expensive.

I chose the deluxe double and it was a very generous sized room. The hotel decor is really lovely especially as an art deco fan. The staff were all lovely and as a solo traveller I appreciated being addressed by my first name. I think it's a bit of a walk to the town centre but I made use of the City Sightseeing bus to see more of the town. The breakfast is good and refreshed quickly.

I found the chairs in my room and the lounge area quite uncomfortable but at 5 feet 2 that's not unusual. It would have been nice if there was somewhere a bit more comfortable to sit and chill.
