The hotel is close to the centre of Chester, situated by the train station. It's easily walkable to the centre, only 5 minutes walk. The room was great for the price, (£80 for one night), there's a huge amount of rooms at this hotel, but it was still fairly quiet. Breakfast was good too, it's buffet style with a lot of choice, both continental options and traditional full English breakfast options too.

The check-in time was a little later that other hotels at 4pm, so if you're looking at checking in any earlier than that, then this hotel isn't for you. There is parking behind the hotel, but it's first come first served, priced at £8 for 24 hours. The car park was full as it seemed commuters use it for the train station.

Don't fall for the parking scam. There's a green car park named Queen that charges 12.5£/ 24hrs. On the other side of the fence is a red car park (next to the modern brick building) which is 9£ only. There is also a car park opposite on City Road which also is cheaper. Hotel staff, of course, will not tell you about their parking scam...

Parking confusing though as £24 on the main car park overnight , using the station car park which is the other side of the fence was £8 per night which we found out due a couple Infront of us at reception were discussing as had already paid the premium rate

Great hotel close to the centre, the staff were friendly, great size room for a family, and the breakfast had a good selection. Within walking distance of the centre and easy parking close to the hotel. Lovely touch of crisps and chocolate in the room on arrival and the cleaning staff were friendly checking in if we needed anything else, overall a great hotel to stay at!

The only slight negative was there was a smell in the bathroom

Location was perfect for gig at the Live Lounge which is located a very short walk away. It’s also very handy for the station and parking facilities are good.

It wasn’t very clean sadly. The massive light in reception was covered in dust that was very visible. The lift was also out of order. The room was clean but the dusting had been overlooked.

Opposite the station , period property, nice courtyard in centre would be lovely on a fine day. Our room was upgraded and very spacious though oddly themed on Kubla Khan. Breakfast prebooked was £15 and of good quality , fresh fruit, cooked breakfast self service was on open dishes so did not have the sweaty greasiness of many hotel breakfasts. Good range of small pastries and bread , very fresh and pancake station,

Service at the bar was slow and at time disorganised. There was a conference on but felt like would have benefitted from more staff. Drinks expensive, £8.30 for a small prosecco and cocktails over £15

Location was great. Staff were friendly Room was spacious. Breakfast was lovely Queenie the Cat is purrfect Room had a lovely view of the courtyard

Pillows we're uncomfortable even with the extra 1 each. No bin bags in any bin. Our toiletries were not filled. No body wash. Luckily we had our own. Bulb blew in the bathroom. (Nobody's fault) Found someone's rubbish under the bed from previous occupant. Opted out of Housekeeping to recieve free drink, wasn't given this. No mini fridge or hooks for hanging coats/dressing gowns etc.

Location by the Station made an excellent base for our Chester City break. Hotel is an excellent combination of older grandeur in the architecture with sweeping staircases and striking facade but has been well modernized with up to date rooms and facilities. Breakfast was great every day and staff were friendly and helpful

My only complaints are that they do not replace the water or crisps/biscuits each day. All provided first day but not subsequently and told this is policy. Also no facility to put drinks/meals on the bill which has never been the case for us anywhere else. These are not major gripes just think they let the hotel down which was excellent in all other areas

I have stayed at this hotel many times but this is the first visit, since the public areas got a bit of a refurb. I preferred the old reception desk, some of the quirky statues and artwork have disappeared but overall they've done a great job. Much more bright and modern but still embracing the historic features. I prefer to stay on the older side and although in the modern Kings block, had the best room I've had over there. 1112/William was a good sized room, big bathroom with separate shower cubicle and courtyard views. The only niggle was no bathroom extractor working, so it got a bit steamy but that was the only fault. Breakfast was good, hot and well organised though I miss the days of live music and a glass of bucks fizz. A great stay, good value for money and it couldn't be more handy, if you plan on using the train.

Our stay at the Queen was excellent could not fault it at all All staff very accomodating and very welcoming and helpful at all times Especially young girl on reception unfortunately didn't get her name, she made us feel welcome and check in process so easy, also Tom on reception was great and good to deal with Room very comfortable and bed, had a great nights sleep Breakfast excellent plenty of choice, bar area great

Restaurant for breakfast great, only thing was you have to give your surname on arrival at the restaurant, I have never known this before, normally you always give your room number and no problem, very frustrating, 1st morning not too bad got there in the end but 2nd morning not good as she said couldn't find our name on sheet, I could see it, she said she would have to go and check it, she eventually showed us to a table, but never came back to us, I found this very frustrating and took a lot of time, after that other people coming in waiting and gave up in the end and just found a table themselves, not enough staff on in the breakfast room at all. She was supposedly the restaurant manager
