We came for a weekend away, and the Orchid Hotel was lovely, by far the best hotel in the area. Easy to find, great for parking plenty of spaces we were able to leave the car hours before check in time. The staff were friendly & welcoming. Our room was spacious, clean, spotless in fact. Modern. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom very up to date and we loved the modern mirror light. Very generous tea & coffee facilities. For the price we paid we feel we’ve had a bargain. Only a 10 minute walk to the beach we really can’t wait to come back and will 100% be returning to the Orchid. 10/10

Room 102 seemed a bit plain compared to other rooms we have stayed in at The Orchid. Having to pay £20 for parking!

Easy to get to. Walking distance of Bic and pavilion. Clean, friendly, comfortable.

Very noisy about 3am presumably other guests which was a bit surprising as it was a Wednesday night. All draft drinks were off the drinks menu due to lack of gas, bottled beer and cider only so we went out elsewhere.

Lovely room at the front of the hotel, very tasty breakfast with lots of variety hot and cold, air conditioning room and a large bed. Very helpful staff with special thanks to Tanya and Chrysawa on reception for going above and beyond 5*

Parking was limited and £10 per night was a bit steep, apart from that nothing

Lovely, helpful staff, Seb was a smiley face to great us with a very warm welcome. We were upgraded to a suite as we were celebrating our anniversary, it was also our very 1st visit to Bournemouth. The room was on the top floor but it was amazing. Bedroom was not overbig as it was shaped into the window, inner entrance with wardrobe, iron & board & suitcase rack. Breakfast was excellent all though plates for hot food were cold. I asked for a hot plate, no problems. The Britannia hotel round the corner houses immigrants, they were no issue & we felt totally safe in Bournemouth.

This was a very short stay, so we opted for room - dinner - breakfast. The Orchid Hotel is a street or so back from East Cliff in a quiet location, well-hidden by trees. It is beautifully decorated and exudes tranquility. It's a short walk to the town centre, or there's a bus stop at the end of the road. Everything was excellent, particularly the evening meal which would put many expensive restaurants to shame. A proper 3-course extravaganza. Absolutely delicious. The breakfast was freshly-cooked to order, not self-service buffet, and all the better for it. Of particular note was the chap on duty, regrettably we didn't get his name, but he was helpful, knowledgable and charming. Take a bow. As one of the best hotels we've been to this year, we'd go back in an instant.

On-site parking costs £15 for 24 hours. Such is the way things are going.

Restaurant was good value and very good food

Ate dinner in the hotel restaurant twice. Paid by card each time rather than being billed to room for meal. On checking out, was told quite ‘firmly’ that I needed to pay for both meals. I had to get my bank account up on my phone and show the transactions where I had paid for my meals. (Thank god for online banking). Effectively, I was being accused of dishonesty. The desk clerk accepted what I showed her but still regarded me a bit suspiciously. I don’t the fact that they had clearly mixed me up with someone else, mistakes happen. But I would have expected profuse apologies which I didn’t get when I showed them the evidence of their error. It’s not nice to be wrongly accused. I won’t go back.

Hidden gem in Bournemouth

Absolutely fabulous experience with the Orchid hotel this weekend. Customer service was exceptional. We travelled as a family and my mother became quite unwell due to an ongoing health condition. We spoke with house keeping and reception, both coming up with a plan to help us support her so she was healthy enough to travel home. I can’t thank the staff enough for your kindness and I will most definitely be returning and recommending you to others. Thank you so much.
