The room was very clean, the hotel had parking right next door, a fan in the room which was great as it was too noisy to leave window open (the room was v warm) and this acted as white noise AND helped with the temperature so we slept like babies, good buffet breakfast. Good pillows and although the mattresses were a bit softer than I usually have, they were v comfortable. Great having a fridge and tea making facilities in the room.

No plugs or USB ports anywhere near the beds and didn’t like the crowd of smokers at the entrance when we arrived as the whole reception stank of cigarette smoke. It wasn’t as bad the rest of our stay

location. literally yards from Lime St. Station and relatively quiet but we always take ear plugs as we like the window open.. staff super friendly and helpful. Good breakfast too. Lovely large TV for when the weather was awful one night. Small fridge, complimentary bottled water and cookies as well as shower gels etc. Lively crisp linen. Very clean with daily house keeping. Shower was pretty decent too. Easy tu use safe in the adequate wardrobe. Overall, an ideal spot just 10 minutes walk from everywhere.

lack of light in the room/bathroom (speaking as a lady) no mirror at the desk and plug not near enough to the mirror in the hall for hair dryer. Beds too soft (but that's just my personal preference)

Just finishing our stay here. I can not recommend it enough. The staff are friendly, and very accommodating. The rooms are a great size with a lovely comfortable bed. Daily room service puts the icing on the cake. It was great to come back at the end of a busy day to a lovely tidy room with fresh drinking water and a small packet of biscuits for a little treat. We only ate once at the hotel, the breakfast was delicious. The castaway bar is nicely placed and quite reasonably priced for a city hotel. You could not ask for a better location. 3 mins from Limstreet and a five minute walk into the city centre itself. Fabulous place!!

The only downfall would be the hill that needs to be climbed at the end of a day.

Location in Liverpool centre is just perfect for all attractions including the Liverpool Empire and Christmas markets. The hotel is also right near to Lime Street Station which is great if you are travelling by train although we did drive there this time and the free car park adjacent to the hotel was a bonus. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The restaurant has excellent quality food and the staff are very pleasant and helpful.

Room 268 which we stayed in was at the end of quite a long corridor and although a very nice room there was an annoying and intermittent external loud/ vibrating noise from some kind of fan or extractor outside which started just after 8am then continued through most of the day. The other thing we did not like was in the Castaway bar there was a continuous loop of loud cover music that became very hard to listen to after it had been played for hours over and over again on the speakers. We think the choice of background music could have been better or more varied and maybe the volume could be turned down a little?

The hotel is in a very good location, everything is truly within walking distance. The interior spaces are beautiful, and the atmosphere feels homey. On the positive side, breakfast was plentiful and delicious, the beds were comfortable, and the room temperature was perfect.

However, there were two negative experiences. One was related to the staff. There was a lady at the reception who found it very difficult to be kind. I must not have been sympathetic to her, because she treated the guest in front of me in line very differently than she treated me. I suppose she was annoyed that I didn’t always understand her pronunciation and had to ask her to repeat herself. In contrast, the staff at breakfast and housekeeping were extremely kind. Thank you to them for helping us forget the unpleasant experience at the reception. The other issue was cleanliness — unfortunately, there was mold in several places in the bathroom.

Excellent location as we travelled by train. Staff were very helpful, allowing us to store our luggage until it was time to check-in. They were also helpful in outlining on a map what we could see around Liverpool. The room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable.

One minor issue was that we had a problem with the television as it kept losing connection and pixelating, making it difficult to watch anything. There was another problem with a fellow guest allowing their door to bang shut, rather than closing it quietly, however this is a problem with guest courtesy late at night, rather than a problem with the hotel.

The size of the room, cleanliness and it's location. The breakfast was a good English one with omelettes, eggs, beans, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, hash potatoes, ham, cheese, yogurt, cereals and fruit. Many choices of coffee from two coffee machines, juices and teas.

There was only one elevator (a second one was renewed) which gave us a hard time going either to our room, to the breakfast or to the reception, sometimes waiting for more than five minutes or using the stairs (our room was on the 5th floor). The room was warm and there was not an a/c device only a portable fan. They didn't have to offer or even to debit the room with an adaptor. It was our fifth time in UK and we never had a similar problem with a hotel let alone a 3 star hotel. I am sure their guests are not only English tourists but from all over Europe.

The location was very good making it very easy to get to all places of interest. Our room was very clean and comfortable. There was a good choice at breakfast, something for everyone. We also dined in the restaurant on the 3 nights we stayed, our meals were delicious and of good quality. All the staff in the hotel - on reception, the restaurant and at breakfast were lovely and very helpful. All in all we had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay at The Liner again, especially as there was a free car park, but equally it is very close to Lime Street station. We would also highly recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Great location, right next to Lime Street station. 10 minute walk into centre. Parking was free for the duration of our stay and right next to the hotel. It's a Great themed hotel. We had a deluxe cabin, and it was clean and spacious. Very comfy bed. The bathroom had an excellent shower. The breakfasts were amazing, with lots of choice, constantly restocking. The staff were all friendly. We used the Castaway bar, which was lovely, especially the happy hour !

The rooms didn't have air con. They were quite warm. The windows open slightly. The hotel did provide large fans which were fine but I feel if it were really hot then it would be quite uncomfortable. Our room was looking out on Lord Nelson Street which was quiet however, some rooms overlook Lime street station and I'm not sure if u can here the tanoy system from the rooms, worth a check at reception before booking maybe ?.

Very clean and welcoming reception area. Real close to rail station at Lime Street. Luke made us feel very welcome on arrival. Room was very good. Spotless. Reported a couple of 'wee' issues on check-out (i.e. to tighten a door hinge and inspect a slightly loose window handle) - room 414. A few more 'real' tea-bags in room would be welcome. Nice cookies supplied and 2 bottles water was a lovely touch. Never tried coffee machine. Trying to squeeze the toiletries out of bottles did prove challenging. Ended up unscrewing lids. Ground floor restaurant looked fantastic and very posh. Having the separate entrance to Castaway bar is priceless. The offer to purchase dressing gown robes was 'nice' at £35. Bed was comfy. We would have preferred a few more, slightly firmer pillows. Saying that, slept like a log!

No faults that we were faced with.
