Sydney Hotel surpassed my expectations by far! For the price I was a bit worried about what the hotel would be like. Check in staff were friendly and lovely, the room was very clean (far cleaner than more expensive places I have stayed!!), the bathroom looked recently refurbished with lovely glass tiles in the shower and loads of shampoo, conditioner and gel provided. The bed was very comfortable and linen was super clean. Air con worked fine and nice window to open as well. Plenty of tea and coffee provided. There is a bus stop literally outside the door that takes you to Trafalgar Square or Victoria Station is a 5 mins walk away. Incredibly easy to get to and from for siteseeing. I saw many negative comments about the breakfast, I’m not sure what the issues were! Breakfast is included and so I had very low expectations. However, there was fresh organ he segments, whole apples and bananas provided along with very nice scrambled and boiled eggs (yes 2 types!), baked beans, range of cereal and more. It was exceptionally clean and efficiently serviced by two lovely ladies who kept the breakfast room tidy. I would definitely stay again. For the price exceptional.

The shower door is a bit too large so doesn’t shut completely, didn’t affect me in any way except a bit odd. The carpet in the hall to rooms has a few marks where it has been cleaned. If you need meat at breakfast you were out of luck the day we stayed, im a veggie so it didn’t worry me. Make sure you don’t get a lower floor room, ask for a higher floor room. My opinion would be very different if we had to stay in the lower floor, saw one and it is not good for someone who likes light! The beds have allergy covers that zip over the mattresses, a mattress cover over the top of this is also needed so it can be easily washed. Allergy covers are designed to be used with mattress covers as they cover off different roles.

Great for one night or two, lovely Pimlico location that's quiet at night. Staff friendly generally (though we were surprised to be asked for ID on check in as this generally isn't done in the UK - led to a few nervous moments trying to find some for one of our party!) Rooms small but very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the free breakfast - so all in all good considering the price,

Nothing we disliked strongly, I think if the rooms had been bigger this would have been 5 stars.

The hotel is located close to Victoria Station, about a 5-10 minute walk away. Bus 24 passes in front of the hotel if you want to take public transportation, and is also close to Pimlico Tube Station. The reception area is small but adequate. The room is just the right size for three people, with a very clean and spacious bathroom. Additionally, there is a complimentary breakfast provided, which is great.

The location was great.

Refrigerator is necessary which was not available. It would be better to provide included breakfast.

Location was perfect. Provided with complimentary breakfast was a bonus.

The toilet was a bit smelly. The tariff could be a bit more reasonable.

I just needed a place to sleep, did not want to spend any day time on the hotel room and this hotel fitted this exactly. Great location, 24h reception, very small but cozy room, clean bathroom, working A/C, comfortable bed. Free breakfast despite not having it booked, the selection is basic but sufficient. Friendly staff.

Similar to other smaller hotel rooms, no sound proofing between the rooms or the hall - could hear steps, conversations but the "neighbours" were quiet, thankfully. Had to rely on the staff to tell me where to find my room (311), more signs or a map in the lobby would be nicer.

Freshly renovated, clean rooms with all the amenities, and very friendly staff, walking distance to Victoria station. The complimentary breakfast is a great bonus, and overall, this is hands down one of the best price-performance hotels in London. Yes, the building is old (but renovated!), the rooms are small, and you might hear guests from nearby rooms but hey, this is London!!

Honestly, nothing much to write, after reading all the negative reviews, I was pleasantly surprised. I had a great experience and can genuinely recommend it!

We absolutely loved our week-long stay at the hotel. The reception team was warm and welcoming right from the start. The room had everything we needed, and we were especially happy with the air conditioning. A big plus was the USB charging ports beside the beds, which meant we didn’t have to worry about adapters. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept well throughout our stay. There was a little bit of noise from cars driving by, but it didn’t bother us too much. The street was generally pretty quiet. Housekeeping did a great job keeping the room clean, with fresh towels and toiletries always restocked. The breakfast was a great addition to our stay and the food choices were sufficient for us too. The location was perfect as well. There’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel, with a route that makes it easy to reach the main tourist spots. There are also two subway stations nearby, which we used frequently. The hotel is also a great starting point for exploring the city on foot. :) We will make sure to book this hotel again on our next stay!

The only minor downside was that the shower drained a bit slowly. But it was easy enough to adapt, just meant taking slightly shorter showers and rinsing more efficiently. :)
