We continue to come back every time we stay in Melbourne because we love it so much . It’s an iconic original property with loads of interesting history . Super quirky styling with loads of fantastic original artwork . Situated in a great location close to bars restaurants coffee shops . Walking distance to St Kilda beach, Acland Street and the Esplanade . Tram stops right on your doorstep taking you into the cbd. We find it always spotlessly clean . Seriously it’s difficult to find places like this in Melbourne. I hope it never changes because its authenticity is what keeps bringing us back again and again . We love seeing Mirka’s beautiful artwork adorning the entrance and Corridors . Beds are comfortable with clean crisp sheets . Coffee tea making facilities . great Value for money . Parking available close to the hotel .

Very big room (Mirka's room) in the basement with a comfortable temperature. Parking: even though there was no carpark you can park at 352 Canterbury Rd. You need to use the Wilson app (and the hotel's wifi) to get a good rate.

Too few TV channels. Check-in after 5pm was possible but needed many e-mails and a phonecall beforehand which is even more frustrating if you don't have an Australian phone.

We liked the size of the room. Facilities were good. Staff were very friendly.

We didn't like the suburb of Saint Kilda. Lots of homeless people and streets were dirty.

Manager helped us to book very late check in and accomodate us properly, gave us better room as it is available at the end of the night. Very flexible, helpful and affordable.

Weekend and weekday rate of the same room we booked has different price. Weekends are more expensive.

The artistic flair is gorgeous. The room was a good size, comfy bed, large bathroom.

The rooms are serviced 4th daily which is fine except they forgot. I left it a couple more days but as soon as I mentioned it they were apologetic and it was done.

Location is incredible, awesome restaurants within short walking distance, the beach is a 5 minute walk and supermarket 150m away. Location is what makes this a perfect stay. Make sure you ask for a balcony room, well worth it and nice to sit and watch the world go by on Fitzroy. If you want peace and quiet, the double glazing is amazing and you dont get any street noise. Will definately stay again

The bed was average, its the only thing we thought could do with an upgrade. They were comfortable enough, a bit hard but I am a fussy sleeper and did manage to sleep well enough.

Staying on the top floor allowed me to take in an amazing tree filled view. The room itself was very clean and well appointed for the money I paid. Queen sixed bed was fantastic and the linen was crisp and clean. Thank you housekeeping staff very much. The hotel location is close to so many great restaurants and cafes and Woolworths just a block away.

I am not disapproving of anything at the Tolarna Hotel. It's great value for money.

I like the venue and location, love the art feel, and the ceiling height is great, My room was spacious, although I should have asked for a street view. I like the stories that come with these buildings. It would be good to have some more about Mirka and or the arts in the area. It really is an arts education as well as experience.

The shower. The tiles need replacing or a damn good clean the moldy grout was very off putting. disappointing.

We just loved the atmosphere and the location - its percet for both, visiting city and beach. Also very freindly staff and the bus stop isnt far. Shops and bars nearby, also the beaches and parks. Nice idea with local artists and paintings that makes the interieur nicer.

Sometimes you need to just swipe over the ventilation system, it needs some cleaning.

Tolarno follows a common trend where bedding consists of a bottom sheet and doona only. No top sheet. This made for a poor night's sleep, where i was continually pulling the doona up, or removing it as i struggled to maintain a comfortable temperature. It was a relatively warm night and I would've been far more comfortable under a sheet alone.
