The room layout and location were great.

Firstly, the 15% discount code I was given for the conference could not be applied via booking.com and Executive Suite apparently wasn’t available directly on the website. Secondly there was no restaurant available onsite for lunch and dinner and no room service available on the weekend. Quite inconvenient. Thirdly, despite staying in Executive Suite, the housekeeper did not do full room service each day that includes fixing bed and replacing amenities. These were done ad hoc, despite daily housekeeping with items missing eg milk, cookies, tea, raw sugar Finally, it was quite disappointing at that price point to be offered no varieties of tea just basic bushels.

I've been a long term regular visitor to Rydges Southbank Townsville. For me it is a great location that has a good atmosphere and vibe, with amazing staff Jack and Jacquie always making us feel welcome. The hotel is always clean and the rooms and beds are comfortable, although my wife feels the bathrooms are ageing, but I'm fine with this as I'm also a bit rough around the edges :) . On a couple of occasions in the past we've had rooms with aircon problems that were not cooling well, or the evaporator fan was really loud, but the staff are quick to have the situation resolved. We love the buffet breakfast with the variety of food and beverages they offer, which adds to the enjoyment of our stay. As I am a regular visitor to Townsville I book well in advance to ensure I secure accommodation at Rydges and to avoid the price hikes when Townsville event dates are released. Unfortunately looking to book in 2026 I see accommodation price increases of 50% from my current rates. So despite my consistent loyal patronage with Rydges, I can't see my family continuing to stay here in the future if rates aren't competitive. For some this is simply a room or somewhere to sleep when travelling. For us staying at Rydges this has been part of our excitement staying in Townsville. Thanks for the great times and great memories. 10/10!

Was in a great location, close to a convenience store and various eating choices. The room was nice and clean and serviced daily. The bed was very comfortable with nice clean linen. The staff were friendly and always had a nice smile when they greeted you. Loved that there was a washer and dryer to use free of charge and they have complementary washing powder. Our favourite part was reception desk had the most amazing complementary cookies.

The bathroom needed a refurbishment. Pool needs some work as it is starting to show wear and tear ( eg tiles missing)

Welcome cookie on arrival was delicious and a nice touch. I had a really lovely stay here with my mum, we both thought the beds were so comfortable we enjoyed an afternoon nap and also had a great lay in the following morning. The room was large, spacious and very clean. I did notice some dampness to the carpet but they were extremely clean so thought they must of recently been cleaned and still wet from that? The bathroom was a good size and lovely clean towels and toiletries provided. Great facilities! The staff were very kind and friendly and I would definitely stay again.

Nothing overall but I absolutely hated the tv in the room. It was very confusing to use and I was unable to change the volume or understand how the tv actually worked. It was extremely complicated.

Delicious buffet breakfast with plenty of choices. They even opened early to accommodate our group. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Microwave, kettle with tea and coffee, bar fridge. Highly recommend Marsala - the Indian restaurant down the street about 50m: delicious food, great service and great value for money. Little convenience store next door is open til midnight. On site parking.

If I had to pick something, I'd say the bathroom is due for a renovation but it was still really clean. The bed sloped outwards a little bit but it didn't bother me too much.

We were pleased with everything about our one-night stay. The hotel is extremely nice and comfortable and located in a fantastic street. We would like to thank both of the reception staff who attended to us both on arrival and departure - they were both amazing and both extremely helpful - thank you! This hotel is located in a dining street precinct with so many restaurants to choose from - we headed just next door to the Steakhouse for an amazing dinner, and Gelato just a short walk away for dessert - the perfect evening! There is generous secure parking onsite at the hotel also.

Our only critical feedback is that - the aircon in the rooms is set to 23deg -which for day use is applicable. Nighttime use it was too uncomfortable and we wished we had the option to call reception to lower the temperature during the night to 20deg - or been able to ask for a fan to circulate the air - it was just too warm for us during the evening to sleep comfortably.

Every thing was clean, staff were friendly and breakfast was delicious. It's in a great location walking distance to food venues and plenty of pubs in the area.

I didn't like that in order to have acoffee with my breakfast I had to pay for that even after I had paid for breakfast. Perhaps offer a percolated coffee or even instant and if a guest would like a proper coffee for breakfast then charge them.

Location superb, parking available anytime, friendly staff,rooms nicely decorated and comfortable , access to pool .the view from my room was excellent

Bathroom in my room was very dated looks like the rooms have been renovated but not the bathrooms. Not enough chairs or sunloungers around the pool and the pool light doesn't work and is hanging off,all the facilities are there just need updating

Great location and lovely room- EXcept for extremely noisy air con (obviously air con is so old and when on roars like a train going past) Fortunately it was cool enough and didn’t need it. But felt disappointed that when planning another visit to Townsville and in particular in summer, don’t think I could book with you. Please please fix the air con!!!

The bed was comfy, the room was quite large. Was very convenient being able to have breakfast downstairs.

The couch was very uncomfortable/hard. The bathroom door didn't run on its tracks very well and could be a bit difficult to open. The shower door also had parts of the runner coming out and was a little difficult to open/close. But all worked when I needed it too, was just a little dated.
