We had a wonderful stay at Scandic. The hotel room was comfortable and well-maintained, and the location was excellent — very convenient for exploring the city. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was top-notch, making the stay even more pleasant. The breakfast was truly one of the best We’ve experienced — there was an impressive variety of options to suit all tastes. We really appreciated that you could even pack some food and take it to your room if you wished. A special mention to a Lithuanian lady working at breakfast — she was extremely helpful and attentive, which made the mornings even better. The front desk staff were also very welcoming and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. I would definitely recommend Scandic for a comfortable, well-organized, and guest-focused stay.

I wish the restaurant could serve lunch and dinner.They did mention no lunch and dinner only breakfast, which I can't fault.

Great location, impressively quiet despite the close location to the center. Well designed rooms, big enough room, large bathroom. Polite and helpful staff, excellent breakfast with variety of options for everybody, and well maintained. You can adjust the central air conditioning (or heat) temperature in the room to your liking.

Just minor stuff: exceptionally strongly scented soap - not normally sensitive but wish they would switch to completely unscented. Metal toilet paper dispensary made a lot of noise and didn't really work.

Location & price - it’s probably the closest hotel to the station and it’s a great spot, nice to look out of the window and good for trams metro etc. There’s even a supermarket directly underneath (in the metro station). Also the staff are nice and very helpful.

Hot water is fine at 6-6.30am but on the one day I tried to shower at 8.30am it was hot and cold with no pressure. I’ve seen online griping about the decor but it’s serviceable and if they refurbish to price will rise.

Because we will go to the airport at early morning by the city train, we then booked a hotel close to the central railway station. The location is quite convenient for a city sightseeing. Helsinki Unversity is surrounding the hotel. The hotel has a long history and the metro station is just outside. When we arrived in Helsinki before the conventional check-in time, the staff help us to store in a reception desk room, thus we could conduct our city journey. The breakfast is delicious, as we were hurry to the railway station and we had the breakfast prior to the start time, finished it successfully.

Yes, the hotel is old, BUT it is doesn't affect your stay. Room was clean, good size, the bed was very comfortable, all furnitures good looking and comfortable, all lights working. I asked for the quiet room and I got it. For my toddler they put not only travel cot with nice bed leaning, but even pot. Breakfast was simply amazing. Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel is in the perfect location for travelling, has metro right there, bus stop and tram stop across the road and train station just around the corner. There is some nice places close to the hotel for lunch and dinner as well. If we go one again to Helsinki, I will definitely choose this hotel.

The location is great and the breakfast was really nice.

The room looked a little tired and there were a bunch of young lads making noise by playing music at night. I complained about it at the reception and they did go to the room and asked to switch off the music. This was really good and of course the noise was not the hotels fault.

Its very well situated within short walking distance to central attractions and also train station, if you need to travel around. Also tram station is right in front of the builing to make getting around even more comfortable. Breakfast was nice, with a lot of selections and juice / coffee / tea to take from self-service stations. Room was very clean, TV had some strange language childrens channel as well, but my kid did not care about the language and watched the spongebob cartoons anyways.

The hotel and rooms are a bit outdated (still clean and fresh but the overall feeling is that its not modern, which I think is somethings the finns actually like, so this might be the reason. It has some sort of 90s wibe to it. Other than that everything was OK, its not a 5 star hotel but its a strong 4-. One of the bedside lamps in our room was a bit out of order (it did not fully shut down, so we had slight light going on but it was very weak, so did not bother much.

The hotel was a 5 min walk from the central railway station and extremely easy to reach, surrounded by shops and restaurants. Exceptional breakfast with gluten free and lactose free options as well (That was the highlight of my stay :). It's comfortable and ideal for tourists since all the places of interest were a short tram ride away.

The brightness level of lighting in the room was lacking.

The reception staff were helpful and informative when asked about hotel and tourist information; Proximity to the station and to the main sites was great; the supermarket in the basement was a positive. Very good breakfast.

Upon arrival, having travelled for a long time, including a delay that meant we reached the hotel at 1am, a simple welcome would have been appreciated rather than just 'Are you checking in'? No fridge or kettle in the room. The bathroom was quite tired.
