The Hendrick hotel is the perfect place to stay for someone who wants a clean, minimalist room in the heart of Dublin. You can walk just about anywhere you want in minutes. It’s right on bus/tram lines, so even if it rains, you can access public transportation easily. The queen bed is super comfortable and the pillows were great. That said, the rooms are “cozy,” so it’s an intimate space for two people 😉. The rooms were fairly quiet, and we rarely heard any street noise or other disturbances during our stay. Patrick was an amazing bartender along Arturo and Karishma as the front of house/concierge staff, who were helpful and kind throughout our stay. We are grateful for their recommendations…they were always spot on! When we return to Dublin, we’d happily stay at The Hendrick again. 10/10! ❤️🤗
Small pet peeve: I wish that the beds were made with fitted sheets so that they didn’t come loose in the middle of the night. Sometimes I ended up waking up sleeping against the bare mattress 😬

After a long journey from the U.S.—complete with a few well-planned adventures to help us stay awake and fend off jet lag—we arrived at The Hendrick Smithfield. From the moment we stepped inside, we were met with kind, welcoming staff and a refreshingly modern atmosphere. The lobby and lounge area were bright and vibrant, adorned with urban art and filled with the mellow hum of live music vibes that instantly reminded us of home in Austin, TX. Our room was clean and cozy, with a double bed for my mom and me, and a fun bunk setup where my son slept above us. The close quarters didn’t bother us at all—we had read the reviews and knew to expect a compact space. The room was smartly designed, with easy-to-access outlets, clever storage under the bed for our carry-ons, and just enough room to comfortably move around. This is the kind of place that works perfectly for a brief city stay—I'd say two nights is ideal before moving on to explore the rest of Ireland. During our stay, we walked to a nearby open-air mall area with plenty of charming dining and grocery options where we enjoyed fresh, delicious food. On the morning of our departure, we had breakfast at Third Space Smithfield, just a short stroll away. What a gem—cozy, thoughtfully designed, and the perfect spot to start your day. All in all, The Hendrick Smithfield was a great landing spot to shake off jet lag and soak up a little city energy before heading out to the countryside. Would absolutely recommend it as a first stop in Dublin!
One small thing I wish I had known in advance: each hotel floor has its unique art theme with over 200 pieces of urban art in the hotel. Had I realized this earlier, I definitely would’ve taken the time to explore and appreciate the creative details. I’d gently suggest that staff mention this to guests upon check-in—something as simple as, “Have you heard about the art we proudly display here?” could spark curiosity and make the stay feel even more special.

Double room was not good as you have to climb over other person to get in to bed. We asked to switch to twin room and staff were very helpful with that. All rooms are very small but beds are comfortable and bathrooms and shower very good. Safe in the room and kettle for tea. No views from window and blind in our room did not slide up and down very easily.
Storage space very tight with bars on wall for clothing hanging. Beds in double room impossible to make for staff and not good for getting in to, ended the night in a complete mess

Clean and modern hotel in an emerging neighborhood in Dublin. You're a short walk from the river with easy, walkable access to all the main sites in the city. We were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. Lots of good local spots in the neighborhood. Very fast wi-fi and Chromecast on the TVs in the rom.
As many have stated, the rooms are small. If you had a long-term stay or plan on spending a lot of time in the room you may want to look elsewhere. But they're perfect for shorter and busier stays where you won't be at the hotel most of the time.

We had a fantastic stay at The Hendrick Smithfield. From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent. We especially want to highlight the receptionist (who checked us in and who also speaks Polish), as he was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. He made check-in very smooth and gave us great tips about the area – a real asset to the hotel! Our room was modern, clean, and well-designed. We really appreciated the stylish atmosphere throughout the hotel, from the lobby to the hallways. The location is also ideal – close to the city center but still in a quiet area where we could relax.
The only downside was that the window in our room couldn’t be opened, which made it difficult to let in fresh air or properly ventilate the space. However, the air conditioning worked well.

Well priced hotel within 15 minute walk of central Dublin. Whilst the rooms are small, they have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The hotel itself is quiet and the artwork is cool! A number of bars and restaurants close by - particular nods to Frank Ryan’s Bar & Fidelity, both of which are well worth a visit.
The only minor negative, and it is very minor, is that our room was quite dusty, particularly on top of the shelving unit at the head of the bed. Aside from this, the room was clean and the bathroom was very well maintained.

Staff were always friendly and looking to assist. Thanks to the team for organising breakfast for our tour day. The rooms, halls, and lobby bathrooms were always very clean. We liked that the rooms had chromecast so we could stream our own shows. The lobby and restaurant area have a great vibe and it was a nice space to spend time in the morning or evening when waiting for the rest of the family.
Although there was not much space in the triple room/bunkbed we managed ok. Some things weren't always available at the breakfast but the selection was good and coffee machine was great. I would have liked to have some eggs but that's ok, the yoghurt, cold meats and cheeses, cereal etc was all great. Our group particularly loved the pastries (they were delicious!) and that there were gluten free options provided.

Exceptional! Patrick and the staff made a forever impression, always happy to help, smile and made the trip 10x better then expected. Advisory on where best to visit, eat and cost effective ways to have and enjoy Dublin. The hotel was catered well, it was clean and a fabulous walking location to all areas of Dublin. The hotel had live music one evening and it was such a wonderful surprise, the bar was always open for fabulous drink requests and endless coffee in the morning and fresh pastries at breakfast. Before checking in, the options were sent via email to have an early and late check out, special extras for the room for occasions and sign posted tourist attractions. I can not recommend this hotel and all it had to bring enough.

Decent location in terms of temple bar area and Smithfield Christmas market. Tv in room and nice lounge/bar area. Staff were really friendly- receptionist who welcomed us and receptionist who held our bags whilst we explored Dublin after check out.
Location was abit far if you wanted to go bit further into less touristy spots of Dublin - we had to get a couple of freenow taxis. Green emergency light in room offputting when trying to sleep. Woken up in morning by arguing. But mostly, Pot noodle was €6 in the tuck shop which is scandalous!

The staff was AMAZING!! Even before our trip, they were very responsive, in a quick & thorough manner, regarding questions we had about travel, navigating buses/trains, seeing local music/art/venues, discounts, amenities, and anything else we needed to know as first-time visitors to Ireland! They front desk staff made it feel like home, and the one gentleman even told us about a favorite local whiskey, shared shots with us! Slainte! Your staff was absolutely wonderful in maintaining a hotel where we could sleep at night and not be woken up by loud staff in the mornings, as well, & I highly recommend ANYONE to stay here! You were our FAVORITE hotel!! ❤️ We especially appreciated the man from Poland who originally checked us in & helped us find places to eat, as well as the Irish gentleman who had a red beard, who helped us several times & was remarkably friendly & kind as well. We truly appreciated you all making the last 3 days of our time in Ireland exceptional!!! In addition, seeing the way that your hotel seeks to be environmentally friendly, along with it being the premier Art Hotel in Dublin, made such a phenomenal combo!! So much good, packed into one hotel--I highly recommend it for a memorable and wonderful stay in Dublin!!! :)
not a thing--our stay was exceptionally wonderful! I didn't like that I couldn't stay with your hotel longer, and that I can't move to Ireland in the near future! :) I love it there!!
