The best hotel in the world in terms of design and historical significance. Great work of Gio Ponti. The location and the view from the room.. Giardino Botanico. The Swimming pool. The museum in the hall.

Please do not change anything in the bathrooms! - because it is important part of the design of 1962. There are some comments here in Booking, that the bathroom is not good enough for somebody, that the bathtub is not big enough etc. I would say that the design and simplicity of the original bathroom is a high value from the times, when the consumerism was not the main thing in life. Good luck with good guests, who understands the architecture and design ! 👌

Beautiful vintage decor, stunning location. Staff very pleasant and the concierge team were exceptionally helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Sunset drinks on the terrace a highlight every evening.

The outdoor pool was not open in early May - it’s described as ‘seasonal’ on their website although the hotel is not crystal clear on opening dates. Other hotels had their outdoor pools open.I think if I had known it would be closed. I may have chosen to stay somewhere else. Because of the original vintage style (which is lovely) there is not quite a sense of luxury that you might expect at this price point. Some basic things could be improved without compromising the style like somewhere in the bathroom to hang towels. It’s expensive to get down to the town by taxi and at least a 20 mins walk - €20 each way - so factor in this cost.

The view from the hotel is amazing. Our family loved the pool and beach area as well as the gardens and architecture. Our room was large and comfortable. All meals that we had on site were delicious.

In the summer heat, providing a bottle of water a day would have been nice. Or to have water available in the lobby in a dispenser. $6 euros for a small can of water at the bar, after a day in the sun, just isn't reasonable. It is also common for tourists to pick up a bottle of wine from somewhere they have dined or toured and bring it back to their hotel to enjoy. The staff tells guests that they may not drink wine on the property unless they are in their room.

The location and views were spectacular. The history of the hotel and its design were also really interesting. The staff were very helpful and assisted us with a number of bookings and enquires. The staff in the resturant and bar areas were exceptional and pool was very very cool if a little deep!

The fact we could not go down to the beach as it wasn’t open until the following week, although it was hot and the public beach was open it would have been good to go and sit by the sea

The room and its view were absolutely beautiful. The location by the sea and the private beach with black lava sand and below the rock were stunning - so great this was still available in late autumn. Also the public areas, gardens, breakfast were excellent. Everyone I met was super friendly. I find it very commendable that the hotel so much appreciates and respects the design heritage of its architecture and interiors designed by Gio Ponti.

There is a service round at bed time, where staff goes round, makes sure everything is ok and leaves some very delicious local sweets. That's a nice touch, but it would be good, if one would be informed about this upon check-in, as there might incur unexpected privacy issues.

The location is perfect. Beautiful view overlooking the sea. Incredible sunset. We love sitting having a well-made cocktail in the evening. We love the design. It’s a Gio Ponti museum and should be listed! It’s our 3rd time staying here & we stay here because we love the design so much. The breakfast selection is wonderful as is the restaurant view. The pool and poolside is beautiful. We like the walk into Sorrento, yes it’s busy but you can walk on pavement most of the way. It takes about 20/25 minutes but we enjoy the stroll. Great pizza/pasta restaurant around the corner if you want to stay local.

Our only criticism this year is that we were looking forward to dinner in the restaurant as it was superb last year but this year they were doing a tasting menu which was expensive and took 2.5 hours plus. It was pleasant enough for one night but it meant we didn’t want to eat in the restaurant again during our stay. Please re-consider this for your guests!

The staff at the hotel were super friendly and helpful. They really made our stay in Sorrento enjoyable. We arrived at Sorrento with two days of rain. However the service and breakfast made up for the otherwise disappointing trip to the Amalfi coast. The hotel staff also helped us print out our train passes. The toilet wasn't working properly on the 2nd day, but they requested maintenance to repair in no time and also fixed the bedside light that wasn't working. The hotel is situated at a reasonably convenient location if there isn't any rain. We did manage to walk on the short periods when there was no rain. I loved how the restaurant is facing the ocean with glass windows. I would imagine it would be so romantic and serene if the weather is better.

Expensive taxi rides - $25 euro one way to the hotel or to the train station with luggage - only 5 min drive. The water had white residues from hard water ?? I had to do a google search. But maybe this is sorrento water ?

This hotel is EXCEPTIONAL. The staff is welcoming, warm, the BEST!! I have ever experienced in a hotel. Breakfast is included and served overlooking the sea. Such BEAUTY! Sights of Capri and Vesuvius. Dinner in the more casual restaurant (choice of 2) was delicious and fun with live music on certain evenings. The waiters were fabulous, elegant. Incomparable hospitality. The view and balcony/porch off of our room was a great delight, and we used it well.

The view, the housekeeping was amazing how many times she gave us new towels and turn-down service. It was like she was a fairy godmother. The room service staff were extremely attentive even though she had a wedding the same kitchen was catering. The Concierge, Claudio, was so friendly, accommodating and helpful. The overnight Concierge was truly wonderful, as we had to go to the hospital unexpectedly and they arranged a taxi in the middle of the night. It wasn't so urgent that we needed an ambulance, but the two Concierge on staff were helpful and very compassionate to our nervousness. The restaurant staff in the dining room, at the beach restaurant, at the beach bar, pool bar and blue bar were excellent-especially Francesca! Thank you for a truly magical experience.

The front desk staff were aloof and unhelpful. If culturally I didn't understand that I was meant to go to the Concierge with my questions, it would have been better for me if the front desk staff were a bit more kind, instead of dismissive, "The concierge" and pointing. The front desk staff's attitude was portraying "stupid Americans" in an unspoken look and eyeroll. I was more than happy to go to Concierge since they were SO helpful every time we needed help. That is my only constructive feedback. Try to teach me what is appropriate, "Signora, I would be happy to help you, but that is the duties of the Concierge, let me walk you over," with a sorride, would have been more professional.

The whole property is amazing, the views are spectacular. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Nothing was to much to ask for. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of variety and love the traditional options. Would highly recommend this accommodation. Going back in 2 years, will stay here again.

It is a little far from the main street, but there is a complimentary shuttle.
