Friendly staff on reception and in restaurant. Good location away from the bustle of Bournemouth centre. Magical view from our balcony. Spacious room with tea/coffee/hot chocolate. Comfy soft bed.

The property is dated and looks tired. There is no power to the shower and the sink tap. There was no discount for hotel guests for the car park (£20) for the night. Toilet paper quite thin.

Great hotel in a perfect position. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

The only issue we have is there is no wheelchair access to the outdoor swimming pool area.

Location is perfect, with easy access to a wide range of lovely places to visit. Staff are extremely pleasant and welcoming. I was helped tremendously at check in as I am not always proficient as I would like with technology! Unfortunately, my sister had a fall during our visit and the staff could not have been more professional and efficient in dealing with the situation. Big thank you to Alison, who did a brilliant job calming and looking after my sister. Outdoor pool and garden area are lovely and well maintained. Car park is convenient and not over priced. We had no trouble finding a space whenever we had been out. This may be different during peak season but I can only comment on our stay in June. I like the option of opting out of daily house keeping as I have strong opinions on environmental issues. All areas of the hotel are kept clean.

Breakfast is more than adequate but sometimes certain things ran out and were not always replaced quickly. However, there was always plenty to eat.

Excellent value for the money, big room and excellent ammenities included in the room rate (by far best deal of our overall trip).

Hotel does not have own parking. You have to park at the public parking at the back of the hotel for a 10 GBP rate a day. Note also that the parking pay machine does not recognise french car licence plates thus leaving you with some worry after having paid for potential mishandling by the system potentially triggering a ticket for violation .... I suggest hotel to act to have this corrected for the peace of mind of their foreign customers.

We had an amazing time at the hotel. Upon arrival, we were given an upgrade to a room with sea view which was amazing! I originally booked a standard room but the one with a sea view and huge balcony made our stay even more unforgettable. Patricia and all the staff members at reception and during breakfast (which had a great selection of freshly made food) were very kind and helpful. We left our luggage there too before and after check-in and out times which made our life much more comfortable. Exit to the beach is literally right next to the hotel that leads to a quieter area than the pier but still close to it.

We hired the Orangery for our wedding, ourselves and many guests stayed at The Carlton. The hotel staff were very welcoming and attentive, the email updated is worth a read, free drinks instead of room.service. I think we had a free room upgrade, we had booked a family room, and had a stunning seaview, with balcony, that was a blessing on our big day for photos. We were given free parking an absolute blessing, given the about of luggage for the big day. Beds are huge and comfortable. The rooms are quiet. The outside pool is heated and lovely for an early morning swim, in door in very warm. Hot tub was closed. The food was delicious and a great selection. The grounds are very well maintained. Kelly our event planner, was there to welcome us, reassuring on the big day and even appearing with two champagnes afterwards, so sweet.

The only improvement would be air conditioning, it is an older property there are fans in the rooms, but even in the dinning room and stairwells, it's like a sauna. There's small windows on the stairs, but they are all closed. I would thinks opening any windows would help. It's the one things all the guests commented on as being a bit uncomfortable.

Loved the size of the room and the view was fantastic. Dinner in the hotel was lovely and it had a good breakfast . Location was great 👍

The cleanliness. Dirty bedding, skirting boards filthy. Bathroom lots of dust and fluff . Cleaned the bath myself before I used it .bath panel warped.glass on top the tv stand was dusty , it had clean me written in the dust wen we arrived. Headboard looked like its never been wiped down .The chairs in the restaurant had thick dust on the wooden bits between the legs (all chairs). Had a champagne glass with lipstick on it and my water glass had lipstick on it . Didn't like it was cashless , considering cash is legal tender . Parking was £35 for 2 nights ...that's alot!

The room and bed were very large and comfortable. Good tea and coffee facilities. Great to have a fridge. Lovely large bathroom, and the bath worked well. The breakfast had everything I expected, in a lovely light room, with views. The location was good. I could walk into Bournemouth, or catch the bus from opposite the hotel.

The shower didn't work. The water didn't get hot enough, and it had very little power. I experienced a shuddering vibration on the floor, which affected also the bed. Felt like the vibration of a freight train passing by!! This happened mainly from 6 - 9 pm. I reported both concerns.
