The staff are amazing so helpful and friendly. The hotel has a really lovely vibe and a relaxed atmosphere. This was our second time and we will be going again. The rooms are lovely and clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Wherever we dinner in the hotel the food was delicious, with lots of options for kids and the breakfast was yummy. The staff really make this hotel and the pool makes it great if you have kids and it’s easy to spend hours there.

There was nothing we didn’t like, the only thing that would be nice would be if there were a few more snacks or a vending machine. There is a small shop opposite but it closes at 4, so if you have been out all day and just want a little something the bar only had pringles, nuts or biscuits.

The hotel staff were very friendly. Good facilities.

The fact that hotel guests would have to pay £12 just to use the tennis court when they brought there own racquets and balls. No wonder we did not see anyone using it whilst we were there. The way the gardener was watering the flowers out the front but trailing the hose pipe across the steps at a busy time. Why didn't he bring it tucked in across the front of the steps so not in anyones way. For the size of the hotel it would of been better if you had more than 1 pool table as it was used alot up to the point it was out of order.

We loved the hotels atmosphere and the outstanding staff who were incredibly friendly and helpful. The swimming pool complex which has both indoor and outdoor pools was fab, especially for the children. We found the hotel to be extremely clean and the beds were comfortable. The food on off during breakfast was wonderful - such variety and something for everyone's tastes. We enjoy eating in the hotels restaurants but the Italian is the best. The evening entertainment was great - the Star room is excellent. The Kid's Zone staff are amazing and there is so much for children to do. Overall, the hotel is fantastic!

There is only one thing that we didn't like and that was not having air conditioning in the rooms, as it did get very hot. The hotel is an older building so I do understand that this may not be possible though.

Hotel is very spacious with great space for kids and its own aquadome. Very helpful staff. Breakfast buffet is excellent - a wide range from continental items to cooked food like bacon/sausages. black pudding, eggs, plus cereals/fruit/porridge. Evening meal is also very good with a range of items in the buffet. lamb, curry, stirfry, gluten free and much more Also minimal snacks at certain times from the bar or Jersey Joes the American style diner

The lack of ensuite rooms for those with disabilities. They have a communal shower room at the end of the corridor but most disabled folk do not want to have to start carrying items to the end of the corridor to have a shower, There are some rooms with small baths, i think these kud be converted to room with walk in shower. They have a few accessible rooms but mostly for families. The alternative is to book one of the self catering flats but that an extra £200+just for a small apt.

Honestly, we were totally blown away with the experience at The Merton Hotel. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left, the staff could not have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful. It created a really great atmosphere and the customer experience was exceptional. Me and my daughter had the best time at the outdoor pool joining in with the aqua aerobics which was so fun and I loved the sauna and steam rooms. We danced our hearts away both nights at the silent disco and the entertainment for kids and adults was such a high standard, with a brilliant Entertainment team holding it all together. Breakfast was fabulous with a great choice of food and the choice of eateries for dinner was varied. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and we got upgraded to a family room instead of a twin which gave extra space. We really were quite bowled over with our stay and can't wait to return again soon for a short break.

Slightly tired in its decor, but that really is all I can fault it on. It was fabulous for a 3 star hotel and really the service just meant that we didn't give two thoughts to the decor once in.

The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful and we were allowed to check in early which was a bonus. The room was a reasonable size and comfortable. There was a huge choice of dishes at breakfast and the fresh fruit was particularly good. The leisure centre is big and comes into its own in good weather as there are plenty of sun loungers and places to sit outside with a big heated outdoor pool. The inside area is more for children but there is a steam room and sauna pool side. Entertainment is put on in the evening although we did not use it. The hotel is opposite a very pretty park and a short walk to the sandy bay and its outdoor swimming pool. It is not far to walk into the shopping centre and the bus station was about a 15 to 20 minute walk away, although the hotel is also served by the number 16 bus from the bus station.

This is a big hotel obviously used by holiday companies so the catering whilst plentiful and the choice good, the quality is as you would expect. The bedroom had a window which only opened a matter of inches so it got very hot and although a fan was provided, and it wasn't particularly warm outside, it was very airless. Our room seemed to be over the delivery area so we were woken first thing in the morning. The pool area is tired and the changing rooms small.

The main thing that stands out about this property is the exceptional service. Every single member of staff does their job with utmost courtesy and professionalism and it makes you feel welcome and valued as a guest. This is the second time in two years I have stayed there. On both occasions I had an early flight arrival and turned up at the hotel around 10:00am expecting to just have to store my bags for a bit. On both occasions the room was ready for me to check into straightaway. The hotel is particularly good if you are travelling with children. The pool area with waterside and lazy river is very impressive, and my son loved the arcade area and the nightly kids disco. We loved our stay here and fully expect to come back again.

It’s a very minor gripe but the changing area for the pool is very small, they could do with expanding these if at all possible.

It was great, friendly staff, food was great, facilities were second to none. We would definitely go again, My two boys are 18 and 16, and they are hard to please but absolutely loved this place.

There was nothing i didn't like. However, a little nearer the beach would have been great, but they could not change that, also at £2900, for the 3 of us for 7 nights, was not cheap, but again, we were not really on a budget, so we will go again,

We love the pool and the breakfast, astika the flow rider instructor/lifeguard was amazing, really is an attribute to the hotel and made our holiday, it takes a certain personality to be able to interact with any guest and he made everyone feel welcome and always has a smile on his face.

Quite dated could definitely do with a refurbish and air con installed for the hotter months, also can’t really be helped but not sure if it’s the water of ice cubes but there’s a really strong chlorine taste in any drinks with ice or the drink pump we couldn’t work out what it was.

Hotel was extremely clean and breakfast buffet was excellent! Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and very clean. It was spacious and bed was ok to sleep in. pillows were a bit weird but that’s to be expected isn’t it! (they weren’t mines from home) The pool was superb!!! warm and clean and plenty of things to do for the kids.

There was night entertainment but we personally felt the kids ones were put on far too late, especially when they already had an exhausting day. Also the choices of vegetarian/vegan were very poor. Basically eat chips most evenings which was not ideal. Needs to be more choice of food options in the evenings.
