We were welcomed warmly and bags carried in and car parked for us. Our room was bright and spacious and on ground floor with lovely outlook to back garden. Communal kitchen and food prep area clean and spacious A number of eating places of various cuisines within walking distance, and fabulous access to public transport ( train) to get into centre of Auckland

The magnificent old home is lovely however need to realise that because of its age you will hear people walking around above your room if you're on ground floor (limited soundproofing) Unfortunately we were unwell so couldn't make use of the fantastic location and access to all Auckland has to offer

Such an incredibly beautiful heritage building and it is kept in impeccable order. I loved the access to a lovely kitchen and a simple breakfast. My room was delightful with a gracious ambience and a large window looking out to trees and greenery. Linda had the heat pump on so it was nice and warm. It was a very wet stormy day, Linda came down to the car park to greet me and took my luggage to my room. The ensuite bathroom was spacious and everything was sparkling clean. It's been a long time since I have stayed in accommodation of such a high standard and so obviously loved by it's owners. Thank You!!

Everything was great

Easy access from the motorway and close to the city centre. Very clean, tidy and large rooms giving royal feelings.

The owners were staying in the property only, also other properties are close by so not suitable to be a bit loud.

Such a lovely grand old place! Our second visit and will be back😊 Comfortable warm, clean and spacious. Large rooms all with their own character, huge ensuite bathrooms, a real treat. Such great value, easy to get to ,no hastles with parking...handy to motorway and group of shops, nice restaurants not far away.

Nothing- all that was missing was maybe flannels/ facecloths provided with the other towels for the bathroom. Heated towel rail didn't seem to be working or able to be turned on but not a biggie.

This was a spacious warm room with really lovely decor. The bathroom was spacious and totally adequate for our needs. The wi -fi was first class and we were able to book activities in Auckland and check in for flights. The use of the big kitchen and dining facilities was great. Despite there being many rooms it was very quiet. Off street parking was great and it was only a short walk to the train station. All in all this was ideal place to stay whilst visiting Auckland and when we left it was only 30 mins to the airport,

Nothing to add as the owners have worked really hard to create a superb hotel in an old building.

This enormous turn-of-the-century mansion has been meticulously and lovingly restored and filled with the most luxurious furnishings and fixtures. Every suite is unique (with its own brass nameplate on the door! The Blue Room, The Victorian Suite, etc.) though they each have custom upholstery, carpets and color schemes, as well as plenty of floor space and huge bathrooms. The owner mentioned that the master painters who finished it bring apprentices here to teach them about delicate custom jobs. The huge windows everywhere keep it bright and cheery during the day (every room has blackout floor to ceiling curtains) and the warm lamplight everywhere makes it so cozy at night. It would be pretty ideal for family or corporate groups - the formal dining room has a massive plasma screen, and there is a large glassed-in conservatory / morning room with plenty of seating for meals. Also a fancy game room, full kitchen, a private off-street parking lot, and security cameras in all the public spaces. You will get no end of compliments if you manage to snag it for a group. This is easily a $500 per night luxury hotel.

Not a problem, but the hot water needs to run for a few minutes to reach the rooms.

Beautiful old house with character, very well decorated inside. The room was spacious and comfortable. Linda is a very nice host. The location is very quiet and very convenient : you can park your car at the house and use the close by train station, with direct trains to downtown. Everything I needed to prepare my breakfast was available in the common kitchen. I enjoyed my stay at the Aachen house.

I loved the grandness of the property, it was a special and unique place to stay. The lovely owner welcomed us on arrival and showed us around. We were the only guests that night (a Monday) so we had the whole place to ourselves which was very novel. The bed was really comfortable and the room quiet. The location was perfect, just off the Market Road motorway exit. There were eateries close by, within walking distance. Convenient parking is provided for guests on the property. I would definitely stay here again.

Everything was great.

The property is nice and clean, the bed is comfortable and the whole vibe is interesting because of a mix of a Victorian kinda house but many Chinese interior artifacts in it. It’s a bit kitschy because of that, but overall feels nice.

There was a kitchen with a stove and everything, but you’re not allowed to use the stove, to cook on it. I would have liked to know that BEFORE coming to the property.
