We enjoyed five nights at the Phoenix Palm Motel. Usshan and his team were very good hosts and extremely helpful throughout our stay. The unit was quiet, modern and well-fitted out with everything we would require and there was plenty of hot water. This motel was well placed for our needs and there are plenty of food options including a supermarket close by in Remuera Rd. We'd certainly consider returning.

This is not so much an issue with the Motel and is only a minor consideration. It is located directly opposite an Intermediate School. Getting out of the drive-way about 8:45am on week days was a bit of a challenge with a lot of traffic coming and going and people dropping of children for school. It's also adviseable if driving that you keep Google Maps on as there's some fiddly navigation around the roads if you don't know the area well.

Great motel in perfect proximity to Ascot Hospital (which is why I chose it); walking distance to Remuera shops; close to Southern Motorway. Surprisingly quiet, clean, spacious rooms, great (newly renovated) kitchen for self-catering. TV with Sky, air-con available (didnt use). Easy parking and access.

A bit sparse on furnishings - adequate but not generous eg 3 teaspoons (for a unit that can sleep 4); 2 towels (even though I'd booked for 3 people)...but extra towels/teabags etc given on request. We couldnt connect to the wi-fi, but I admit I did not ask for assistance (as could get by without it). Hairdryer in unit looked to be preseerved from the 1960's (and as useful as a gentle breeze). Minor complaints really!

Great location, great value, friendly, spacious, good size, comfy beds

The bathroom could have just been a bit cleaner, the toilet hadn't been cleaned as there was still a deposit in it, a few dead bugs on the bathroom floor and spiderwebs and only 2 towels when 3 of us were staying. I did wonder if they had just done an outside clean and that is why the dead bugs were there, otherwise the rest of the place was clean and tidy

(Room 16) travelled with 10yr, 14yr old. Full kitchen set up was a nice surprise. lovely big bathroom, hot water and deep bath. very spacious for a 1bdrm apartment. Easy access to local shops round corner. plenty of parking. even had a lil backyard too with own door. we travelled overseas and booked here due to the affordable price and easy access to wedding event.

Only negative we had was needed more pillows on the beds. 1 thin pillow really isn’t enough per person. but other than that, really enjoyed our stay

Having stayed here before under the previous management I had a fair idea of what to expect. The facilities were clean, the staff friendly, parking is dedicated for each room and right outside the door. The rooms are a good size, with Sky TV. There is a back door to the grassed area behind the unit which is a nice place to just relax - it would be great to have bistro chairs outside every room I think. The bathroom was clean and the towels were replaced daily, and having a heated towel rail was great to get the towels warmed up and dried off between changes.

There was nothing we didn't like to be fair, but areas for improvement would be the shower pressure that was a bit low, although plenty of hot water. The bed could do with a mattress topper or replacing as it was a bit thin on top and I'm a bit bony and felt the springs. Having air conditioning was great as we like the cold but our a/c unit would make loud noises periodically throughout the night even if turned off, like a loud buzzing/vibrating sound and I forgot to mention it to the owners, I think it may need to be serviced?

Fantastic location, clean, tidy and probably only recently refurbished. Water pressure in the shower was exceptional.

My only issue was there’s no way of knowing if the room has locked when inside because in order to check whether it’s locked, it opens. Instructions on rear of door poss or fit a safety chain to doors. The tv was tiny although I didn’t need it.

Really liked the location, very quiet,liked it was not a studio therefore kitchen was really workable. Have stayed before about 18 months ago. Had a few queries about bed hygiene . However this time was great so we were both really happy. Management were really nice and helpful. Will come again. Many thanks.

The staff were very accommodating and flexible and were very helpful in catering to our requests! The kitchen was very well equipped with all the pots, pans, plates, bowels, cups and cooking utensils you could need, and a spacious fridge freezer with a hob and microwave as well. The bathroom also has everything we needed including a hairdryer too. The beds were comfortable.

It was great to have a full kitchen with oven and cook top plus a fridge freezer. We were staying for a week as I was in hospital just down the road. Staff were super helpful and friendly.

The bed was quite hard and it would have been nice to have had a comfy chair or couch to sit on in the main part as there was only a table and chairs but these are just minor things.

Kitchen was well equipped to make and cook your own dinner or breakfast. Cleanliness was 10/10 the motel provided everything we needed really. Parking on site wasn’t a hassle as there were plenty of parking spaces. Linen was clean no marks or anything and the bed was perfect. I actually cannot fault the place. Also friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and stay again
