The location was the reason I chose this motel - I had a rental car, and I had an international flight out of AKL airport the next morning. I wanted something cost-effective that would be about 20 mins drive to the airport. The rooms are clean and bright and have everything you need. I appreciate having a double bed and a single bed in a twin room, rather than two singles. The motel was exactly what I was looking for and is well located to a lot of useful amenities for people on work trips - easy access to motorway, main roads, Greenlane, etc. The check-in staff member was really friendly and polite and helpful and check-in was really painless and quick. Also, free and secure parking is a big bonus.

A bit of motorway noise, but this quietens down after 10-11pm anyway, and I slept just fine with silicone earplugs - didn't hear a thing. I couldn't find the wifi details anywhere - there was no binder in the room outlining any information about the motel, which is a bit unusual. Not a biggie as I have a gazillion GB of unused data on my phone and am used to hotspot tethering.

This was a very comfortable, and friendly place to stay. Our room was quite small, but we settled in well, and all the facilities were excellent. The shower was fabulous, and there was endless hot water. The heat pump was very efficient, and kept the room cosy. Ray and Ellie, the hosts, were so friendly and kind, and couldn't do enough to make us feel at home. It seemed quite quiet, and we slept so well there. We also felt very safe and secure. The WiFi was easy to connect to, and never let us down. Parking was easy, and we were able to transfer our luggage from our car to our room with ease. The rates are very affordable, and I would recommend this motel to anyone who wants a pleasant place to stay. It is very handy to shops, restaurants, and the motorway.

This motel is pet friendly, and there seemed to be a few dogs around, but they never bothered us, and were under the supervision of their owners.

Convenient motel when looking for a place with parking near the city, bus stops nearby and train station just down the road. Plenty of parking available on site, no extra charge. Short walk to shops and restaurants. I think the rooms have been recently refurbished so despite looking rather dated from the outside, things felt modern on the inside. Close to Mt Hobson for a pleasant morning or evening walk.

While convenient, the carpark was rather cramped and felt difficult to get out of, also there was a very large pot-hole at the entrance. I had the room above the office overlooking the main road, and it really needs double glazing to cut down on noise pollution.

Oftentimes, the budget places miss on one or two counts but this is great value accomodation, well in the upper range of bang-for-buck. Clean, friendly, awesome check-in/out times, great location and all round smooth stay. Water pressure good, trains and some takeaway eateries within close walking distance. Room service everyday (often advertised but not always delivered since Covid times..) Cool waste-bin. Kitchenette allows some self-catering which is nice.

Nothing too terrible. Room is fairly compact and double bed would be minimum with a partner if you are used to bigger (bed that is). WiFi repeaters a bit hit-and-miss.

Friendly staff on arrival, they got us a room sorted straight away even though we arrived earlier than expected. We had our dog with us which was no issues for him to stay. The family room we had was a great size for everyone to move around at the same time without falling over each other. Kitchenette had everything we needed, the bathroom was small but clean and tidy, and the beds were really comfortable. In a 2 min walking distance from a variety of takeaways and restaurants - the Japanese was excellent.

We were on the first floor next to the stairwell and with it having metal stairs it could be quite loud when people went up and down them late at night.

We didn't get breakfast either of the mornings we were there. The room was comfy but a little tired. I liked that we were put in a room where we could let our dog out to toilet safely in a locked up courtyard. The main road was far too busy to take our dog who is very shy and on her first holiday with us.

Trying to get the TV to work was a trick. We gave it a rest in the end and watched something on our computer. I thought we were able to cook in the room which was a little disappointing as I had packed a special breakfast I had prepared. On the Saturday night, there was ALOT of foot traffic in the room upstairs which kept my husband and I awake. Driving tired home to Taupo was hardly ideal. Fortunately, our dog didn't bark.

Loved that it was pet friendly and clean! The staff were so friendly and so kind, we had to check out early and they refunded us a night! So kind. Nicest pet friendly hotel/motel we've stayed at, no issues with our dog being bitten or anything, he didn't even sniff around the room for the smell of other dogs, so we know it was clean!

It was all obviously newly renovated so there was a strong smell of paint or maybe it was the new carpet. It will slowly go away so definitely not a long term problem! The motorway was loud for us but we're used to quiet at night, probably wouldn't annoy many, couldn't hear anyone in the other rooms though. And there was a dripping noise during the night, no idea where it came from or what it was (it wasn't raining) but something I'm sure will be fixed as they renovate the place.

Very well equipped with kitchen ware and other stuff. Everything is clean and tidy. Things that are provided were better than what some other hotels provided. Staff is very friendly and recommended where to go in the area. We had little issue with noise from the guest upstairs because he is a big guy and made quite loud noise when walking, especially during the night. The staff was able to change another room for us on the next day which was much better. Nothing bad with the ceiling, we could still hear noise but that didn't disturb our sleep at night like the previous room. We were just unlucky that we got a room below someone that walks a bit loud on the first night. The area is very convenient and not far from the mall, 10-15 mins drive to CBD. Highly recommended and would come back again!

The property is in a central location, making it very convenient for exploring the area. Everything I needed was within easy reach, and it made my stay even more enjoyable. It’s the perfect base for both business and leisure trips, and the fact that they allowed dogs was a huge plus!

Overall, it was a great stay. The property was clean, comfortable, and centrally located. The owner was very accommodating, even letting us stay longer. I’d definitely recommend it and would return!

Staff friendly and made effort to make our stay with our dog easier by giving us a ground level studio which was awesome. God bless you

The air conditioning smelt as though it hadnt been serviced in while. It smelt like ciggarettes and upon inspection of the heat pump unit outside there had been a lot of rubbish and gunk thrown in to it so the air coming through was not clean at all.
