I thought the hotel was of an international standard. The vibe in the lobby was lovely. The room was big with a comfortable bed and generous bathroom. The pool was great.

I found the man working at the bar to be rude and dismissive. I was waiting for my family and thought I would have a wine while I waited. He was cold and didn’t give a damn. I would have had another drink but couldn’t be bothered. I also asked about happy hour, as we wanted to do that, but the reception looked at me like I was nuts and had never heard about that. Even got a man from out the back to come and tell me I was confused…. So, then I saw an ad in our room, about happy hour at a bar on the first floor. Lost opportunity… too late by then. I feel the hotel is generally good, but the staff are a bit lacking and didn’t give me a good feeling.

The bed was massive and comfortable. My wife and I had a great nights sleep. The hotel itself was a few hundred meters from the Sky Tower, casino, and Queen St for shopping. The bathroom was big, with a shower and bath and also another toilet in the living area. The restaurant (ember)had great food and friendly staff as well. We also received complementary parking, which saved us quite a lot of money as parking can be expensive in the CBD.

Just a great location. Easy to get to and get around with parking on site. Very generous sized rooms, quiet and super comfy bed. Its at the top end of town but so easy to walk down Queen Street to the waterfront and back. Not a super steep walk so lets you take in the whole of Queens Street.

We probably would've spent more there but staff walked past our empty table 3 times so we left. There's a bit of refurbishment working going on at the entrance which is always nice to know about when you book.

Loved the views, location and the pool + gym. Very family friendly. Service at check in was awesome. The room was a good size, larger than most. Portacot was set up perfectly. Everything looked very clean which is something I not pick over.

Didn’t like the breakfast options. Had to wait a long time in line to check in. No milk in the room for hot drinks. Only one robe and slippers in the room. We went for an evening swim, noticed upon leaving the pool that staff had already taken the cage of towels away despite the pool still being open for use for the next two hours, luckily we had picked up towels as we walked in. I did not like the toiletries, it’s the first time I have stayed in a hotel of this tier that did not provide individual soaps etc. everything was attached to a wall….

We LOVED the fast and easy check in, everything was well prepared and explained on arrival. Parking was perfect. Location is central at the top of Queen st/ Aotea square/ Myers park. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Bed and pillows 💯 Big bathroom - bath and shower seperate. Gym, luke-warm pool and sauna facilities, with an awesome roof top setting and views. Breakfast was fresh and delicious with a range of options. We enjoyed access to the club room , especially during drinks&Canape time. Beautiful views from this space .

The temperature in the room was cold

Rooms have 2 double beds per room and interlock made it easier as a family to stay connected walking between. Loved the pool and sauna space. Rooms were clean.

Shower pressure was poor for the rooms. Breakfast was a different experience than previous stay. We have been raving about the breakfast to friends and family promoting the hotel. Was but disappointed to turn up and it wasn’t the same experience. No eggs Benedict on the buffet, no salmon, the cream cheese was more like butter. We had to keep asking for things because the buffet would run out of the items we wanted. Overall every other time we’ve stayed the breakfast has been exceptional.

The swimming pool was great, and it was nice to have access to a sauna. The restaurant, ember, was top notch. We very much enjoyed the food both for dinner and breakfast. The continental breakfast was vast and only $28-half price for kids. The chocolate, banana and strawberry milk, and the pancakes were a hit. Staff were fantastic

The property is under renovation so the front entrance is all closed up. The place will be stunning once the renovations are complete but I would have appreciated knowing before I booked

Check out was amazing, the young men were so helpful and when we informed them that we needed to pay for valet but we were not given a ticket and they did not have our key, they quickly processed us and we were able to depart without a hiccup. Those young men were amazing.

Check in was poor, the duty manager on at the time did not make the process of checking in and organising valet easy. When we she had finally completed check in, I then had to ask again for valet parking. She then said yes you just pay when you check out. Didn't take our keys or give us a ticket.

The room was clean, spacious, and featured both a separate shower and bath, which was perfect for our stay. I had read some feedback mentioning the place was a bit outdated, however I found the rooms themselves are modern; it's just the hallways that feel a little dated but not a biggy. There's plenty to do and eat at the Grand, which is a real bonus as you don't even need to leave the premises. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food and drinks at the Grand were excellent! Even as a fussy eater, I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried. Overall, it was a memorable stay, one I keep talking about!

Staff were excellent and the service was very good too, except for a slight delay in getting our car with the valet service. The rooms were a good size clean and tidy, the bathroom was dated. The shower is too small and the toilet needs to be a self close one as the existing one is too heavy and loud if dropped. It would be better to not have a bath and instead a larger shower with rainfall shower head options. Television channels were good with satellite channels too. The breakfast is very good with a mass of options for almost every taste but the gluten free bread needs replacing, the one used is not good. Overall a very good stay.
