What I really like about this hostel is the location. It’s close to the cbd, only few minutes walk away. Also, the kitchen has the things you need to cook so you can save by cooking and not eating outside the property. The manager is also very nice and helpful! The toilets and baths are cleaned everyday which is good and it’s also tidy and neat. The people staying at the hostel are also nice. You get to meet new people and make friends. I only stayed there for a week for a holiday but I loved it there.

I can’t really think of something I don’t like about this property. Oh! Maybe it’s just my roommate who snores a lot and very loud and I couldn’t sleep well because of it. Otherwise, everything was good.

The location is good. The room was comfy. There are lockers for each bed and cupboards as well. You can use a PC if needed (I haven't, so don't know how to use them and if they're free). Curtais at each bed, so one has more privacy when sleeping.

The kitchen is a bit small. The hostel wasnvery busy (there were 3/6 people in my room) and I think if it's busier, it might be complicated to cook and find a place to eat. Also, short office hours, so if you work or hike all day, it might be difficult to find anyone. A bit expensive for a hostel.

Way better than expected to be honest, people in the reception are very nice, very comfty bed, the room with a fan because AKL can be warmsometimes, and with windows, which is importan. Toilets and showers always clean and a lot of them thru the 2 levels. Totally recommended

the location was the best. right at the heart of the city. A few meters away from the Sky Tower. The beds and rooms are comfortable too. the beds are arranged in such a way that privacy an still be maintained since they are not in front of each other. with curtains too along the beds and a big curtain by the window to keep the sunlight off for when you wish to sleep till mid morning. There is a fan in the room too when you wish for a little circulating air inside the room.

The toilets could be cleaner. The bathrooms can be kept dry after each shower. I noted one was so wet on the floor it needs cleaning. The toilet bins need to be emptied every so often- there was some lady napkins inside a bin that made the toilet smell. it was that time of the month. Also, there should be notice that the toilets and the dorm rooms are co-ed meaning both males and females could use it. Just a warning. Some might be sensitive about this.

A good option for cheap travellers. Staff and other travellers are nice and don't disturb you. The place is pretty clean. You can reach all touristic places by feet, easy to get to this accomodation via the public transportation. There are fans in the room - you will get a comfortable sleep with a nice temperature!

Not comfortable to get to the city center and attractions from the accomodation using public transportation - recommend to walk and see more beautiful places while you do it. There is no space to securely hide your stuff - no lockers :( But your things are pretty safe, as it is hard for strangers to get inside :)

Honestly a hostel with one of the best atmospheres I have ever witnessed. Very friendly staff and positive social energy in the kitchen/living room area. If you’re either here to make new connections or just chill on your own, it‘s a perfect hostel in my opinion. The rooms are very clean and the people in the room very quiet when you need your rest. The kitchen is well equipped and your own storage system is well designed. Felt very safe too!

I don‘t have a single thing to complain about in all honesty.

The layout of the place is perfect. Peaceful quiet easy going place to stay. Handy to town and other suburbs. The kitchen and Abolution Blocks are spacious and nice to use. Wonderful shower. Lovely lighting and creative spots here and there. Great sleeping at night and anytime of the day or night is okay. Friendly Staff. Kitchen and dining room area. Bathroom facilities are amazing. Busting to go toilet not an issue. Showers and toilets galore. I really love the quiet peaceful nature about the Lodge. Very soothing and relaxing. The laundry is good keep clothes clean and room smell nice. Great sleep and nice to be among positive people and not say anything. The Wairua tino ataahua. The location is superb. Right at the center of CBD. Almost. All is reachable on foot. WIFI is fast. No problem. People on the inside follow rules for the most part and are quiet during curtains down time.

No free soap and shampoo for taking a bath. You need to bring your own. Bring your own towel as well. There are people on the outside who shout curses at each other which could possibly distort your sleep. So bring your own earplugs for sleeping tight. Other than these things, all are okay.

Staff and long-term guests are super friendly and it's easy to find friends to chat and do activities with. Rooms are great, a lot of storage space, heater and fans, curtain on the beds. Kitchen and bathrooms are spacious and cleaned regularly throughout the day. Nice hostel to stay at!

Location itself is great and close to the CBD but Hobson St can be a bit hectic in the evening/night.
