Staff is really helpful and kind thank you Pooja. They clean twice everything and staff is hardworking. But people they make it dirty immediately. Money value honestly you will get what you pay.

Pros: Polite Staff at the front desk, room rubbish bins emptied everyday. I met the manager behind the reception desk, being polite, nice, and welcoming.Great Team all round. The bunks in the dorms were ok, if you had a ladder attached, even better. The bathrooms and toilets were cleaned all the time. The temperature in the showers and pressure was great, a little less than half way between Hot & Cold, was perfect for a hot shower. Kitchen, large, open, heaps of cookware, pots/pans/saucepans 3 stoves 1 gas, 2 Gas hot plates. There are 2 kettles, 2 toasters, 1 microwave, 3 fridges for cold food storage, and 2 large cabinets for dry food storage. There is also a bar table and chairs, then at the back of the kitchen is the seating area. 5 tables with booth seats around them. Downstairs has another bathroom with showers and toilets, next to the bathroom is some weights and a bench press bar. And a little bit further is the backyard where you can smoke, vape, have a social drink with a friend. Use the Barbecue.

Cons: The rooms weren't cleaned properly by some workers, they sometimes only vacuum half the room. Some would just walk in without knocking. Someone could've been getting changed. Just think of the female dorms that could have male staff members just walking in without knocking first. One of the security guards there is really rude, and hard to talk to. That's the only reason why I wouldn't come back for a second visit.

The location was quite central, which made site seeing handy as everything was a 20 minute walk away at most. The cooking facilities were convenient for the length of the stay. The common area was also a nice place to just chill out at.

The hand dryer in the men's bathroom was rather weak, which made drying one's hands a bit of a chore. The room we were in lacked any blinds at the window, which was a bit annoying. The large fridges could do with some shelving as everyone's perishables were stacked on top of each other.

I liked the level of cleanliness, the friendly front desk team, the housekeeping and cleaning staffs and the overall atmosphere and great ambience of the place. The Friday & Saturday evening get together . Most importantly the kind and caring nature of Front desk staff. Exceptionally professional.

I didnt like a room mate called Sarrah who was a bit mature woman and a very problematic and delusional and theiving character. Always would just look ways to fight the staffs and try to pick on innocent travellers and harass them and just be a house menace. An alcoholic and substance abuser. A person that should have been allowed to stay in house. Her real place was rehabilitation.

The staff was the best part of this hostel. They were very helpful and upgraded my room from a mixed room to a female-only room, which I was very happy about. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. The toilets and showers were clean as well.

There weren't enough plugs in our room or in the kitchen area. The kitchen was a bit stuffy and small, with not enough tables. The cleaning times for the kitchen were between 12-1 pm when no one was allowed in the kitchen, which I found a bit odd considering that those are the peak lunch hours. There was a lingering foul smell in the lounge and in our room, but this might have come from the people, not due to cleanliness.

When you come to new country and you don't know anyone but this hostel is really friendly. Staff and some old guest they make you feel comfortable. Even this hostel helped me to work here, after I got job another place I quit working here in few days and I understand both side better how difficult for hostel to manage. If staff knock on private room doors some guests says why you knocked for housekeeping can't you see it's private room and some guest complaint why nobody come to clean. As been a guest it's easy to say anything but guest should understand after paying cheapest price in cheapest hostel of Aucland they really expect 5 star hotel treatment. They should understand what good things they getting in cheapest price rather than focusing on what they didn't get which they didn't even pay for.

Sometimes They open till 11:00

I booked online on that day but I can’t stay there because receptionist told me it’s already full and I wait there and try to book another place and I seen that one new customer comes up there and receptionist lady name Pooja booked another 3 more customers after me…. And that’s why I was really upset and I ask them why you did that, then she replied to me I want you to sleep on the road, which is very unexpected reply from a receptionist… I think she did just took it personally because once she said that she don’t like Indians and I am from india and that’s hurt me a lot… I used to stay with Silverfern many times and that property was just like my home but she spoiled everything just with her personal issues…

Reading some reviews i’ve been expecting dirty place full if weirdos but i definetely disagree. ALL SPACES ARE CLEANED EVERYDAY. Bathrooms are not smelly, my bed was comfortable and reception staff is lovely and take care about you. Ok, there are some longstays but everyone is kind, you can feel safe there and i think that’s one of the staff main priorities. Maybe it does’t have a typical backpacker vibe but no need to overpay choosing other places if you’re here just for a while.

Just the water pressure in the shower upstairs is not high but still you’re able to use it. There’s also another bathroom where this problem doesn’t appear.

Great backpackers perfectly located both near the city and K Road so great food and bars right at your door step. Cleaning is done daily and the property owner is investing in doing the place up. New TV in the lounge, movie nights and get together events done weekly. You can’t get better value for your money anywhere else in the City..The staff are always smiling and more than helpful. Overall I rate the property 11 out of 10
