Location is unbeatable - centre of town on Lambton Quay, you can walk everywhere! Most of the best shops, plus a supermarket and the Cable Car are there. All Wellington's buses in all directions pass along this street and the bus-stop is practically at the front door. Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The two bedroom suite was a good fit for our family and the layout (including the kitchen) was modern and tasteful. For a 7 day stay it was handy to have a good size fridge, hot-plate, dishwasher, washing machine & drier, spacious living room and dining table. It was also wonderful that members of our party were able to park their camper-van in the hotel's open-air carpark (fee-payable).
As well as the main bathroom, we appreciated the "powder room" (toilet and washbasin) off one of the rooms. However, the latter did not have a single place to hang a towel or bathrobe. This somewhat limited its usefulness. And the main bathroom did NOT have space to hang four bath-towels. Some hooks in the hallway to hang hats and coats would also have been very welcome. Apart from these shortcomings, we were very pleased with the suite overall.

The service is always great at the City Life and we like the location - convenient for shopping and Lambton Quay through the downstairs exit and a quick access to Cuba Street and Courtney Place around the Boulcott Street exit.
The bathrooms smelled a little musty - like the drains weren't clean. We kept the doors closed so not a major issue. There was renovations/construction happening nearby and we had noise all night - this is not really the hotels fault but soundproofing could definitely be better. Quite cold when we stayed and the bedroom was freezing - the lounge had a heater but there was no additional heating or blankets in the bedroom area.

Room was fantastic, comfy bed, great bathroom, location perfect with easy walk to Te Papa, Harbour and supermarket virtually next door.
Dryer did not work when tried and the workaround suggested did not fix the issue. Heating stopped working a few days into our 1 week stay, we were provided with tiny floor heaters. At no time was a room change offered despite these issues.Managers and Reception staff really need to work on and improve customer service.

The location is perfect, right in town. The rooms are lovely, ours was huge! We had a 2 bed apartment, all beds were immaculate, everything was provided.
The heater was noisy and required a full reset every time you used it, the street noise as the leaf blower guy was out at 10.30 at night across the road but that’s not the hotels fault. The reception is on the top floor which is different, the downstairs foyer carpet needs cleaning and vacuuming and the leaves blown from the front of the building.

The rooms were well maintained and appointed. I did find differences between my room and my friends, in that she had a coffee machine and didn't drink coffee - however, I would have appreciated the coffee machines as I don't drink tea. On asking if they supplied contour pillows they said they could supply a rubber pillow - which was adequate. The beds were exceptionally confortable.
On my second stay, due to aircraft cancellation - I was put in room 110 - and had to listen to a water pump all night. I gave this feedback directly to the Hotel - was a terrible nights sleep.

It was a suite with 2 bedrooms and a lounge, dining, kitchen area. Comfortable and close to everything. Granddaughter left her rabbit and they couriered it to us straight away. Thank you.
I had thought that I had booked a double bed and 2 single beds. Apparently I didnt but how was I supposed to know that! That was what I picked on booking.com. Meant daughter and granddaughter had to share and they were both coming down with the flu. Also thought I had booked a carpark. Wasnt until I got the confirmation that I found that the park was down the road, and entry to the hotel was from the 5th floor if you had a car. Found the parking hard to find.

First stay in several years. Easy check in, friendly, polite and professional staff. Room was a good size, well laid out and very well-equipped. Second bathroom was appreciated. Furniture was comfortable. Bedding clean, and beds very comfortable. Would love to return, but think carefully about room location.
Curtains in the main bedroom did not meet in the middle, leading to light entering the room. Although not the fault of the hotel, who noted previous similar complaints, council cleaning work took place around 10.30 - 11.00pm both nights. Extremely loud, as rooms not double glazed. Seems unnecessary. Some noise, particularly since we chose a city centre location, should be expected, but this did not contribute to a relaxing stay.

Great transport links. Central location, can walk everywhere. Very comfortable bed & very good cleaning service. We have stayed here before and know they have apartments suitable for the purpose of our stay.
The first room they gave us wasn't suitable, there was no desk/table, and the windows were non-existent. Consequently, the room was dark & gloomy. We tried to work in the reception area, but it was not private enough for making business phonecalls. After 2 days we had to ask the hotel to offer us a room with a table or desk, and better natural light. We needed a place to work on. The 2nd room was 100% better, but kitchenette had limited facilities.

Beautiful decor, central location, free use of washing and drying machines, plunger coffee
We were third level from the road and the noise at night was insane. Could hear people walking on the street at 2am, every vehicle that drove past, woken by a truck idling under our window. Checked 3 times during the night to make sure windows were shut. Seriously needs another layer of glazing. Also the price was very high but it was emergency accommodation (stranded in Wellington for 2 days) and the cheapest we could find within public transport range of the airport.

Great location, pretty quiet, staff were excellent, roomy and comfortable 2BR apartment, everything you need for a family holiday, clean & tidy, bus stop across the road, a few doors down from the cable car, building felt secure, efficient heating, very comfortable beds.
Casting not available to the tv, no dim lighting in the apartment for overnight, the apartment was mostly clean but there was some built up grime on the bottom of the shower glass.
