Staff were wonderful - the room was comfortable - the location was walking distance to everything in southbank so it was nice being able to walk everywhere.

Not being able to pre-book parking at the hotel. While I understand limited parking at the hotel it's far more inconvenient to be told when checking in that you need to park elsewhere and walk back, especially when it is raining. Also, paying for a full buffet breakfast but then finding out that barista coffee was extra. When you pay for a full breakfast barista coffee should be included.

Bed and pillows were great.

Room cleaning was not good. We had to call reception to have toilet cleaned again. Homeless people camped across the street - not a problem but not a good look. Hotel was fine, booking experience was not. This site claims to price match but do not. I found a cheaper price for same room, same dates shortly after booking. I sent info to ask for price match on the same day. Booking.com replied a few weeks later disputing the cheaper price I had found - pathetic that you check weeks later when prices have changed. If you are too busy to check prices on the day price match claims are received, then don't advertise price matching.

Only one minor thing - the car parking situation. The Novotel car park was full and the Hotel suggested we park at the convention centre. It was close by and we didn’t mind walking back and forth but it did become a hassle in the end with two little ones. We also understood that it was a first come first serve situation too. The parking fees were $35 per night as we didn’t register via Hotel.

In fairness I stay here a bit and it's usually a lot better than this, and the following experience won't stop me from using this excellent hotel again. But you did ask. I arrived at 7pm for dinner on my own. I asked for a beer and a steak with vegetables on the side. The beer arrived 25 minutes later, warm and flat, after I had asked another member of wait staff to look for it. The meal arrived some time afterwards. The chips were crispy, the steak and the veges were tired. I suspect but cannot prove that the bar and kitchen staff did their jobs well, but the beer was left to stand and the meal waited on the counter for far too long. I guess a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

Very comfortable stay in the corner king room. Staff were very accommodating at reception and the restaurant. We had a Christmas buffet there as well and there was a special vegan menu. Beds were super comfy and the rooms were very clean. Very close to Southbank and all the attractions there. We were lucky to get parking on site (for a fee).

The bathroom door was broken and my son got hit by the door and was hurt. A maintenance person came to fix the door. I think because it was a busy time, no one answered the FOH phones at Christmas time so I had to go downstairs to report the incident and the broken door. The pool was a bit dirty.

Beds were super comfy. Buffet breaky was great! There was a lady that came and did balloon animals while we dined which was great! The kids loved that. The pool wasn't anything spectacular but was a great depth, just shallow enough for the kids to touch which made it great for playing games in the pool. Close enough location to get to Southbank. Probably a 10min walk.

We ordered drinks at the pool that never came, but went to reception who organised a refund for us straight away. I didnt love that you couldn't move the beds. Was hoping to be able to push one against a wall as I was sharing with a 2 year old who loves to fall off a bed. Both minor complaints, otherwise great.

Had an awesome stay at the Novotel Southbank. They exceeded expectations and gifted my son a cupcake for his birthday and some gifts for my both children. Also super easy to find and check in, car park was simple and easy to use & worth the extra for a secure car park and also access to your room directly from the car park which made it awesome and safe and secure with my children. Beds were comfortable & buffet breakfast was awesome! So many options and children loved it. Definitely recommend! Staff were super friendly and helpful.

We only stayed one night but we arrived early, and our room was ready. There was no parking available in main building, but they had extra parking a 3-minute walk away. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious with a big counter which we like. Great location for our event at Southbank.

I think bottled water should be complimentary in the room which it wasn't at this property. The laneway at the side of hotel had festoon lights but when we walked back from our event they were not lit up and was quite dark.

comfortable and spacious. The measure of a property is not how perfect it is, but their response to when things aren't going according to plan. For two days in succession our room missed housekeeping for reasons no one could quite work out. But the way in which the staff responded was exemplary and ongoing check-in's to ensure all was resolved were appreciated. Thanks, will stay here again

We loved everything about our stay at the Novotel Brisbane South Bank! Everything about our stay there exceeded our expectations, from the super comfortable room to the beautiful Bastille Day decorations, the superb breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff, the location, the gym, and the pool - attention to detail was better than in much more expensive hotels, and this made our stay even more enjoyable. We look forward to staying here (the perfect base for exploring Brisbane) during our next visit!
