Hotel Sonne was wonderful! It is located about 1/2 mile from the central district and a mile from the central station. There was a bus stop immediately out the front door with a couple different bus lines. This made for convenient access, and a local public transportation pass is included with the room. There is free parking if you're traveling by car. Our room was on the smaller side, but was ok. The hotel is partially remodeled, our room wasn't updated yet, but was still very nice. A small balcony off our room with beautiful mountain view was absolutely wonderful!! Espresso and tea was available (free) in the commons area on each floor. The room key was a digital key via your phone, very easy to use and convenient. There is a restaurant in the hotel and several others close by. A very nice young couple has recently purchased this hotel and is doing a great job! They were very friendly and helpful in every way. We enjoyed our stay here and would love to stay here again!

Location was just far enough outside of the core but still close enough you could walk or take the bus that was outside the building. Owner is in the process of some updates to meet more needs of quest but did not effect our stay. Generous size for the room and so clean. The owner and staff were so helpful with everything.

We went on the shoulder season this passed April and found our room a little warm so we slept with windows open which was not a problem but in summer as it warms up the room might be a little warm as I did not notice an air-conditioner.

Lovely room with a balcony and lovely view. Bakery over the road and next to bus stops with free tickets available. Great location and friendly owners. The process starts from the check-in and the automation to enter the room simply dazzles you. The room was indeed very nicely decorated and the balcony was great with the view of the clouds which were just at a level where it met with the mountains. My dream of having such views came to reality as it was just the perfect time to visit and the view from the balcony of Hotel Sonne was simply breath taking. The hotel offers coffee and snacks in the common areas and also the chocolates which they give are as smooth as silk. I never wanted to leave the room as it was the perfect combination of cozy and comfort.

Hotel is well located in Interlaken. It is not too far & not in the busy streets. I stayed one night in the city centre and the noise and the people were so loud but at Hotel Sonne it is so peaceful and calm. The view was great from our room and we loved the coffee station with the nice little swiss chocolates offered. The super market and restaurants and the bus stop is so close by. The Hotel is just in the right place as we wanted it to be.

Breakfasts offered are only with Vegetarian and Vegan Options, but we have a lovely bakery just across the entrance of the hotel which serves breakfasts and this is definitely equal to having breakfast in the hotel.

We loved our stay!!!! The hotel was in walking distance to everything. Staff was amazing. The rooms were clean and the bathroom/shower was great. Could not have been better :)

Super friendly staffs! They have a bus-stop named under their hotel. Yes, you heard me right, the bus stop is named Matten, Hotel Sonne! You definitely can't miss it! Remember to ask for your Guest Card which you can take the buses within Interlaken and train to Grindelwald for free. You get some discount on the full Jungfrau Railways tickets. The bakery shop opposite the hotel is very good too!

I understand that they will be closed for 2 months for some renovation/upgrading work after this October. So I guess all those imperfections will be fixed by then. 😀

Great location, superb balcony view, friendly and welcoming staff. Room was comfortable with phone app access which was convenient. Extra shout out to staff who surprised my brother with a lovely birthday cake and didn't forget me either :-)

Would be handy to have a small fridge in the room.

During my visit in Interlaken I stayed at Hotel Sonne, and I enjoyed the location, as it was right next to a bus stop that can take you to any of the sightseeing places you would be exploring during your time in Interlaken. The room was simple, but the bed was comfortable, providing a good night’s rest after a day exploring the surrounding areas. There is no air conditioner, so if you are in the room during the early afternoon in the summer months (I was there late June) it will feel slightly warm, but they have a fan there that helps it cool down. I kept the fan on at night, and along with having the window partially opened, it provided a comfortable temperature to sleep in. I appreciated that their breakfast is vegetarian and vegan friendly, unfortunately I wasn’t able to try it as I was already out exploring before breakfast began at 7:30am. For the price and location, I would certainly consider staying here again when visiting Interlaken.

Excellent Coffee at coffee stations & are always well stacked well but would have been nice if it would have been in the rooms and not in common areas
