Excellent location - 10 minutes leisurely uphill stroll to the city walls. Very clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful. Nice to have the small pool considering it's city location.

Limited choice for breakfast.

Stayed the day we booked. The location is unbeatable if you want to see the Castle and the old town. The staff could not be more professional. The room was superb, 3 rooms in one for a family with a pool. Super new in appearance and funky too. Looked after our bags after we only booked at 10 am for a 3 am check in. They have more hotels nearby too, which looked really beautiful. Wish all hotels paid this much attention to detail.

We booked a suite (Room 171) - which is essentially a room with a separate bedroom attached to it. There was a modern bathroom, with a separate toilet, both of which were off the main room, where we (grown ups) were sleeping. Although functional and clean, there wasn't a lot of room, and our teenage girls had to go and sit in their bedroom when we were all in the room. There were some seats and tables outside in the foyer, so we went and sat there with our drinks and snacks. No kettle available (we did ask) and no coffee machine. It was clean though, and on a bus route back to the airport. Only a few minutes walk into the historic centre, so close to all the amenities and restaurants, shops etc. Funky, modern decor - our girls said it was like being in an IKEA shop set! An ideal stop for a few nights but a bit too small for anything longer.

No kettle, or facilities to make a drink. Bit on the small side, but these are only minor issues.

Hotel part of a chain and a little upmarket compared to other during our trip. Fabulous location and lovely comfortable and modern rooms. Staff excellent and friendly. Secure motorcycle parking in a lot across the street. Town of Carcassonne is spectacular and restaurants fabulous.

A little pricey, particularly compared to Spain (same trip). No restaurant but we knew this before booking. Breakfast adequate but again a bit expensive.

I love the Hotel L'Octroi. The hotel is stylish with a lovely pool and nicely decorated rooms. This is my second time of staying here. The breakfast was great, the staff were very helpful and friendly. I want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT thanks to the cleaner there, who saved my bacon when my taxi didn't turn up to take me to the train station! She kindly drove me to the station in her own car. If it wasn't for her kindness, I'd have missed my train and flight home!

I booked a smaller room this year, but that was my own mistake! I couldn't change my room as the hotel was booked up.

Friendly receptionist, secured parking, very comfortable bed (the best mattress on our France holiday), excellent breakfast, 3 minute walk to the famous medieval Cité de Carcasonne.

Despite it's recent interior decoration, it cannot hide that this is an upgraded old style accomodation:, the small size of the room, the small stairs up to access the room and the window facing a busy traffic road. Luckily the mattress made it a good night sleep 😴

We loved the cool boutique styling, we had two completely different rooms. The rooms were spotless, the bathrooms were very smart. The pool area is lovely, we spent lots of time there. Lovely breakfast, with as much gorgeous local apple juice as you could drink.

The one thing we noticed was that one front of house person looks after serving (breakfast and bar) and the front desk. When we stayed the hotel was at capacity and that made their job very difficult- serving so many breakfasts and dealing with checkouts. The staff were so good humoured and lovely about the whole thing - as we’re all the guests!

Lovely welcome and upgraded too. Bedroom, although not large, very well equipped and clean. The same with the bathroom. Cosy and warm which was very welcome as the weather had turned cold and windy. Bed was comfortable, TV easy to use. We took advantage of the secure parking and was able to leave the car there the following day when we visited the medieval cite about 5-10 minutes away. Had dinner in the evening in the cite. Good choice of restaurants for all budgets. Breakfast at the hotel was very good and served with a smile and we were able to get a tray of tea served in the morning in the room. Staff excellent, particularly the lady who served us on arrival even ran after me with an umbrella as pouring with rain and we wanted to explore. Very thoughtful. Can highly recommend and would stay there again.

located Very close to the castle. Secure parking and pleasant and helpful staff. One particular member of staff (Julie in reception ) was so helpful to us when we lost our daughters favourite teddy. We discovered the loss when we returned to our holiday base home. Julie remembered us from the day before and searched the room herself and found it for us. She called us and put it in a secure place for us to collect. We traveled back the three hour drive to collect it and she was genuinely delighted to have helped us. Our daughter was so happy being reunited with her best friend from birth. Top class after sales service by Julie who is an absolute asset to this hotel!!!🙌🙌🙌🙌

Comfortable Bed, nice atmosphere and great swimming pool.

The location was great - 2 minutes walk to the medieval city and approx 15-20 minutes walk to the main town. Air conditioning was very effective and relatively quiet. Lovely continental style breakfast served in the bar area which overlooked the small pool. This consisted of a basket of assorted breads and pastries, 2 cheeses and 1 portion of ham, choice of soft or hard boiled egg, large bottle of apple juice and unlimited coffee. All in all this hotel represented great value for money. Perfect for a stay of 2/3 nights.

The room was on the small side and would feel quite cramped in you had a large suitcase. Would have liked a full length mirror in the room - there was wall space available which would have accommodated this. The only mirror in the room was in the bathroom. The window faced into a small central outdoor space filled with bamboo plants - many other rooms also faced into this area so there was limited privacy - net curtains had to remain closed to provide any degree of privacy in the room.
